[WD] Restricted movement with mouse?
Hey guys, I'm not 100% sure this is the right place to report a bug, but It's either this or general discussion, so here we are.
Basically, the range of movement that the in-game cursor can move in is limited to a rectangular box (not a visible one though)
For example, in EP 1, when in the office, after bandaging clementine and all that, when I try to leave, my mouse cursor almost gets to the doorknob, but then it's like it hits the edge of the screen.
Also in the main menu, it's not accurate, when clicking on "play" (or continue, or whatever) it actually highlights a few selections beneath it..meaning that in order to play, I have to have the pointer almost at the top of the screen (the "restriction box" isn't present here).. On some selections, it's not just vertically inaccurate, it's horizontal too, like when clicking play on the chapter select screen.. I have to move the mouse to the far right, till it's almost offscreen to click play...
I've thought of many different solutions.. none worked, obviously..
I've changed the resolution to every one selectable, changed to windowed mode, made sure drivers were up to date, etc..
So what is this? I don't have this problem on any other game. Basically, I'm stuck now.
Oh, and prior to installing EP 2, this was not an issue. I'm just replaying EP 1, cause it had been so long, that I forgot some stuff.

Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.
Open the file and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents, and paste them in a reply by pressing CTRL-V.

Booting clean in Windows Vista / 7:
1. Click Start --> Type msconfig --> Press Enter
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Load Startup Items
4. Select the Services tab
5. Check Hide all Microsoft services
6. Click Disable all
7. If running the game on Steam, re-check the "Steam Client Service"
8. Click on OK
9. Click Restart.
10. After reboot, run the game to see if it works.
After performing the necessary steps, restore your settings by doing the following:
1. Click Start --> Type msconfig --> Press Enter
2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
3. Click Ok
4. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer
Maybe TTG ran across that issue in QA and has some ideas what could cause it. Send a link to this thread, so you don't have to repeat yourself to much.
Sorry to bump at old thread, but I have the exact same issue but only on my laptop and did not find a way to resolv this, yet.
Please try changing the Screen Resolution from the Options menu from the in-game settings to a smaller size, and then see if you are able to move the mouse properly in-game.
