If the TWDG writer for S1 had not left...
TellTale games, do you think that Season Two would so far have been better than it currently is?
Sean Vanaman and co project leader Jake Rodkin left TT in September 2013 to do their own thing. In my opinion, meaning no disrespect to the new writers, but if they had stayed S2 would be much, much, much better than what it is right now. I won't go into the details but many of you know that the depth of the story, decisions, gameplay, consequences and characters in season two is a lot less than what season one was.
I just find it a bit disappointing that they do one great season of TWD and then leave just like that.

I agree. Vanaman and Rodkin probably had some things in mind when they left, considering their last project would've been 400 Days I believe, which tied Season 1 and Season 2 in a way. They probably had an idea of how the 400 Days characters would work, and then they left. That might explain why we just see the 400 Days characters just, "there" instead of anything more.
Well fuck... season 2 still isn't over they have 2 episodes left to impress... A Lee dream sequence might redeem the season.
Think it would of been better but still not as good as S1 as they really loved that game and spent all their time perfecting it. While S2 they have so many projects just wouldn't get enough love to really shine and be really rushed.
It's one of those questions we will never know the answer to, it might have been better or it could have gone down a similar path. They did help in the very early stages of the game and its rough story but the rest of the writing was done by other writers.
I like season 2 so far. love it actually. only think I don't like is little things here and there like the turbine part.
I think some of the issues are to do with just the game itself. With Season 1 you got more interaction options to talk with the characters and ask them a string of questions, and in season 2 things are more confined to cutscenes and you're limited in one playthrough what you can ask.
If it wasn't for that, it'd probably feel a lot less restricting in the narrative. But other than I don't think the story is bad at all. I've really been enjoying this season quite a lot and I'm liking how every place the group go to is a different location, where as the first two episodes of Season 1 I remember thinking "oh god, not another farm! x_X".
I will admit though Episode 3 this season had it's ups and downs for me, but I'm not going to judge the whole season for it. Hell there were things in Season 1 I didn't enjoy, like those tedious trains puzzles that went on way too long!T_T
Walking back and forth, wrench or skull cracker? Back and forth, find the stupid pencil, figure out the buttons, get Ducky some water and crackers, oh hey Kenny move your ass will ya-wait do you mean I gotta get a whiskey bottle to Chuck first? Oh great, Jesus Christ now I gotta clear the way on the tracks, but first I gotta check out some abandoned building to get the cutter thing to shove down my pants, and then discover it needs something to tape the hose up with because it's leaking. AH JUST LET ME GET TO SAVANNAH! PLEASE!!!

You forgot about the best thing about S1 hub areas ^
How could I ever forget XD
Then people complain about there not being much episode time.
