Ahhh. Tough one. To be honest; in this season I can't really say that ''I AM Clementine!'' like I felt ''I AM Lee Everett!'' in the first season. I feel more like an invisible force that drives her actions. Sort of like an angel Lee that's speaking to her in her mind and telling her what to do. But if you really want my real answer; I enjoyed playing as Lee more than playing as Clementine. Not because Lee has physical strength and capable of everything. Lee is just like me. He is someone I can actually relate to. Our anger, our happiness, our helplessness, our pains are the same. So yeah. ALL HAIL THE ONE ARMED MIGHTY BADASS URBAN!!!

Season 2 has these writers wanting more of a cinematic approach in trying to tell a story, which leads to these shorter episodes and less branching decisions. It also explains Clementine's slightly predetermined personality. Lee on the other hand, was a clean slate who could be anything we wanted. Same goes for Vince.
Clementine. 201 was the first time I truly felt like I was playing both as and through the character, and not just through. Besides, considering I was i the "Don't trust anyone" boat, I've felt more immersed when not giving a shit about anyone.
Lee.

I literally have to cover my eyes if I fail a QTE that makes Clem get a non-canon gameover death, I just can't handle seeing a little kid being devoured...
I liked season 1 a lot more than season 2 by far.
Clementine already has a "personality" when you play as Lee you can basically chose what kind of character you're playing, you can be an aggressive coldhearted urban, you can be an overprotective "father" and you could be a nice person who always stays postive and hopeful. You can't really build relationships with characters in season 2, it ends up the same way anyways. In season 1, you could basically chose to become friends with a character, to be distrustful over him or her, or just simply dislike him/her (like forcing Kenny to shoot his own son to prevent him from turning and make him hate you for the reminder of your playthrough) and maybe starting a little..."more than friends" relationship with Carley..hehehe.
Lee can knock walkers out with his fists, Clem has to use an object or a weapon.
Lee, but Clementine is pretty fun to play as too. Wouldn't want to play as anyone else other than her in the main story now though. 400 Days is fine obviously and if Season Two decides to have a DLC also, that would be pretty cool.
But overall, my preference of player-characters we've had has been...
Lee -> Clementine -> Vince -> Shel -> Bonnie -> Russell -> Wyatt -> Tavia
But on that note I thought I should add that I really have grown tired of people thinking that Clementine shouldn't have been the protagonist simply because she already had a "Personality" and the like.
Clementine's character evolution is the player's choosing. She's not the same girl you met as Lee, she's been emotionally hardened these past two years. You shouldn't have to worry about trying to retain her personality. because to be honest, both personalities of her go at this point (whether you play her a good girl or sassy) with how her life has been treating her. The window of opportunity they did with a timeskip, the fact that as Lee you influenced her and the fact Lee trained her should have made it rather obvious that she was going to be the player-character of Season Two.
i like playing as both but now sense its just Clementine now she is the only one i want to play as all the way till the end meaning when the game and all seasons are done in other words if season 3, 4 or 5 or when ever they are decide its time to end the season game or from now till the end i just want to play as clementine if season 3 clem season 4 clem 5 clem in other words as long as it goes no one else but Clemintine if other people want to play someone else than i think they should throw in a second character or have an option where you could pick who you want to play for me its easy i just want to play clem all the way to the end whatever is the last season game is
I realize this kind of thing gets people tarred and feathered, but I actually find playing as Clementine more interesting. It forced me to make decisions from her perspective rather than my own. At the same time, there are many points in the game where Cementine's dialogue and actions can reflect what she learned from Lee. Will she keep any of her innocence or will she be a pragmatic anti-hero? It really depends on how you played through Season 1.
To say that an 11 year old girl can compare to a middle aged african american dude in the zombie apocalypse is pretty damn good. Props to you, telltale!
Lee because not only him, but because the story, the game built around him worked wonderfully even when it had its hiccups and problems.
I enjoy playing as Clementine, but damn it, I say this with a heavy heart: This season as of now is not what she deserved, what she could have been. It has been an interesting experience, though. When done right, like the Nick and Walter choice back in A House Divided and some gems out of the precious few interactions we've got with our cast, Clem is a pretty interesting lead.
I praise the Nick/Walter choice as one of the best of the season because IMO nails the subtlety of "making" a big choice as a kid. I saw it as a parallel to how Clementine influenced us and the choices we made back in S1. This time, however, we're her trying to convince an understandably pissed off man not to kill one of us, or allow him to. The roles were reversed.
As for the good moments of interaction this season, the ones that come to mind right now are both with Rebecca, actually. Who would have thought?
Clem can give Rebecca hope for her baby's future. You can say that you think it's possible to bring a baby into the Nihilistic wet-dream that TWD's universe is. She asks her "How can you know?" To which Clem responds "Well I'm still here."
The second one is in the... hub (A shamefur dispray) the first night at Howe's, where Clem can tell her that Alvin knows in his heart that she loves him.
There have been others, but really, it is sad not to see more of these, not just plot-advancing dialogue. S1 had it in spades.

-Mexican music starts playing-
Uhhhh... Lee and what's with the Mexican music playing?
Lee. There's just something about it, I guess cause it felt like the player had more control. Plus I loved the Guardian aspect.
because the 'why not both' commercial has Mexican music..
I see.
Lee
I can't say I prefer one over the other. I've enjoyed playing them both for their own reasons.
LEE
Lee because you got to be the leader of the group but I still enjoy playing as Clem.

I feel the same
Lee.

Lee, by a long shot.
both
Lee, though I would not have wanted to play anybody other than Clem after he died and still don't.
I play Season 2 as if i was Lee watching over Clem from heaven.

Thanks i literally didn't know which one. I thought it was one if those DirecTV commercials.
Lee. I miss caring about Clementine.
How was Lee a clean slate? He was a convicted murder and that played a big part in the story for the first three episodes of season 1.
He also had plenty of predetermined personality traits.
Yeah to say he was a clean slate is sort of ridiculous.
lmao that perfect use of gif you just made my day Twistee
Lee, of course.

Urban wins.
Lee, it's easier to relate personally.
Also easier to feel what he feels, for me.

Because he wasn't going to prison ever? Seemed pretty simple to understand to me.
clem , I just don't know the reason !
Lee, he had a fire in him sure as shit.

I like playing as both. I can't decide on just one.
But as in, you'd choose what they were. Some dialogue options made him sound sad and reserved, but others could be full out loud and aggressive.
Here come the nightmares!
