The Walking Dead Death Foreshadowing

edited June 2014 in The Walking Dead

Have you spotted any foreshadowings before? I was just replaying season1 and I picked up some:

  • In the beginning of episode 2 S1, Mark and Lee are talking about the food shortage and Mark says that if he hadn't joined their group, he would be food by now. Foreshadowing for later in the episode when Brenda chops off his legs and attempts to feed him to the unsuspecting group.

  • In the same scene, they start talking about Larry and Mark says that he's really strong, and he would hate to be stuck in a room with him. Foreshadow for later in the episode when Lee, Clem, Lilly, and Kenny are trapped in the cooler and Kenny kills Larry because he feared that he would be an over-powered walker because he was really strong.

Sooo, have you picked up any foreshadowing for any deaths? I'm really interested in foreshadows and Im curious to see what other ones there are.

Well, it's not a death but in one dialogue tree at the beginning of s2 e3, Clem says she had a radio like Carver's once and it got a lot of people hurt/killed (I can't remember the exact line right now). Later on in that episode, Kenny almost gets beaten to death because of one of those radios, and Clem/Sarita get cuts on their faces.

In episode 1 of season 2, Christa says that one Omid is enough for her, and then Omid dies within a few minutes.

This theorie is not mine but I thought it was really interesting. All the credits go to skoothz.

Nick dies after a walker bites him in the neck.

Pete shot the buck in the neck and Nick shot Mathew in the neck.

Carlos was shot in the neck.

If you let sam kill Clem, I think he bites her in the neck.

Telltale's got a fetish with necks.

  • After Larry's death, Lee has the option of telling Kenny whether he could do it to Katjaa or Duck - In which this happens as during Episode 3, Lee or Kenny can put Duck down or just walk away and leave Duck to turn.

    • In ''No Time Left'' if you had all group with you, Lee says in the hospital roof; ''What's the worst that could happen, I get bitten again?'' In ''The Gauntlet'' scene Lee can get bitten 2 times without dying. (Determinant)

    • In ''Starved For Help'' when speaking to Kenny while pushing Duck on the swing, Kenny will ask you if you're on his side. If you respond "I'm not choosing sides", Kenny will say "That time is coming", foreshadowing that Lee will have to choose between Lilly or Kenny in the future.

    • In ''All That Remains'' if Clementine states that she's never shot with a rifle, Pete tells her that the gun's recoil "This thing would probably knock you on your ass." This foreshadows the instance during the walker attack at the Moonstar Lodge as Clementine grabs a hunting rifle that Carlos dropped and attempts to shoot it, with the force of the gun sending Clementine to the ground in ''A House Divided''.

    • In ''Long Road Ahead'' Katjaa says she loves Duck more than life itself, which foreshadows her suicide due to her son's death.

  • Harj, I fixed the link the on my game. Go look at your thread about your game.

In S1E4 if Lee tries to pick up the rat he'll say, "... last thing I need is some God awful disease." Then the next day...

  • I checked it, don't worry.

    • There was a bit of interaction between Lee and Ben where Ben said if walkers ever got to him, he would off himself. He also later reveals that his greatest fear is becoming one of them. This foreshadows his plea with Lee to drop him to his death in episode four. At that point, he really just wanted to die and cause no other trouble. If you choose to save Ben till the last episode, Kenny will use his last bullet for Ben out of mercy. Shortly before, you can hear Ben yelling out of fear when the walkers close in on them.

    • This all depends on whether or not Christa makes it or not but at the beginning of episode one of season two, Christa tells Clementine she needs to learn how to build a fire and do things for herself in case she's not around to do it for her. A few moments later, Christa is attacked by bandits (possibly killed) and is separated from Clementine.

    • In episode four when they go to Crawford, Ben will make a comment along the lines of "I have a bad feeling about this". Later, Brie (and Ben determinately) dies after they are attacked by a horde of zombies.

    • Shawn and Hershel argue over repairing the fence. And as we all know, Shawn dies because walkers got through.

    • At the very beginning of the game, the police officer driving Lee will say that "people go up and mad when they believe their life is over". The whole ZA is the cause for the deaths that happen in this game. The codes being reported on the police's radio (that he chooses to turn off) also reports 'animal bitings'.

It's not a death, but in Episode 2: A House Divided, Luke says, "What is something a man would walk a thousand miles for? It's family." This foreshadows that Carver will come to look for Rebecca and her unborn baby.

  • In Episode 3, "Long Road Ahead" Katjaa mentions how she dislikes everyone in the group having guns. Kenny tends to disagree and Lee somewhat agrees with the two of them however believing everyone needs to have guns with them. Later Katjaa uses her gun to comitt suicide.

  • I'll add another detail to your foreshadow - if Lilly wouldn't have a gun with her, she wouldn't have shot Carley in a fit of rage. Nuff said.

  • I just replayed Season 1 Episode 1, and I noticed a crow cawing on Hershel's farm before Shawn gets killed. It goes with crow theory in S2.

  • Nice. Another one I just realiszed.

When Lee first meets Clementine he tells her that he'll protect Clementine until they find her parents. During the game, Lee manages to walk through a herd with Clementine until they see her parents, to which he faints and later is either left to turn or is shot by Clementine.

I'll add another detail to your foreshadow - if Lilly wouldn't have a gun with her, she wouldn't have shot Carley in a fit of rage. Nuff said.

  • Before someone dies, you can hear a crow caw. Goes with Omid's death (you see a crow flying in the beginning), and Walter, Nick, Alvin, and Johnny's deaths at the lodge. (Nick and Alvin being determinant). You see the crow for the lodge when you go up the tower at the lodge. If I'm missing anyone, let me know.

  • I FOUND ANOTHER ONE (I'm not sure if someone else has said this already).

In episode one, Hershel will be inspecting Lee's leg. He'll say that it looks like an infection and will make a joke(?) about having to shoot him. There's a long pause until Hershel continues saying that they'll just have to bandage it. WE ALL KNOW HOW SEASON ONE ENDS.

Holy shit that makes sense. If you let Katjaa go alone into the woods to kill Duck, when Lee and Kenny are going to see her Lee looks to the sky and he see some crows flying around.

  • When you first meet Christa, Lee has the option of joking with Christa telling her that Clementine is a "crack shot". Christa thinks that it's good that Clementine has her own gun and can shoot to defend herself.

Later, because of Clementine having a gun, it indirectly causes the death of her lover, Omid.
