I saved Carley because she was good with guns, and that is the only reason. I'm sure a lot of people saved her because they wanted to-... I'm sure you know what I am talking about.

i saved carley and i did regret it later on, because she got involved into story so much that her sudden death was just sad to watch, if i had saved doug it wouldnt have come to that point probably.
Doug. I rather have a smart person on my team, anyone can learn how to shoot a gun. Doug probably has alot of years of studying, that's alot more important.
Carley.
It was a very easy choice when looking at the actions of Doug and Carley in ep1.
1. Carley runs out shooting walkers , and saves Duck and others , when you first arrive to Macon.
2. She knows who you are but keeps it to herself.
3. She has your back , when you go to save Glenn/ . Lee says he doesn't think Doug is good around walkers.
4. She has a gun, duhhh
Carley, because 2:34 (Don't look at the cover picture, watch it, you'll understand.)

But in… more all seriousness, because Doug looked like a goner, and Carley had a gun, which, even if she did die, would still (theoretically) be useful.
I regret picking Carley the first time around, Doug was so much better in my opinion. He was funnier, had more personality, and could turn trash into an amazing alarm system that could tell you where someone is.
Carley. She seemed like a potentially three dimensional character, had an interesting dynamic with Lee from the get-go, and seemed twice more tough and readily useful than Doug in the game of survival. In my own personal WD canon, Carley survives the premiere episode. Nothing personal to Doug -- he's thoroughly decent -- but Carley made the bigger impression.

I think Doug's intelligence was a bit down played though, and he was pretty funny.
I loved how in episode 2 he almost blinds Lee with the laser! And when Ben was asking him if he knew where to go Doug replies, "Yes...no... yes."
I hate how Lee doesn't get the chance to disclose his past when you save Doug, but at least Doug went out while trying to save someones life. Made me like him a whole lot more.
Doug was a gentle sort and as the episodes progress in season one and the future becomes more bleak, Doug's disposition is somewhat of a quiet relief. The contrast between his eventual death and Carley's at the hands of Lilly is equally striking in different ways.
Carly the first time and Doug the second time.

It's a joke.. Because it's strong suggest that Lee and Carly are (at least it was hinted at while she's alive)...
They're going to hop on the good foot and do the bad thing. Have a bit of the old in-and-out. Take 'ol-one-eye' to the optomotrist. Poke the whiskers. Park the Beef Bus in Tuna Town. Glaze the donut. Feed the kitty. Batter dip the corn dog. Bump ugly. Fry a clam bake...
I never really saw that because i played the game once and saved Doug. It would of been nice though if Lee found love in the ZA, finding love is always a good thing.

...Intercourse.
I saved Carley the first time and Doug the second. I prefer Doug as a character but I think Carley is better meta-gaming wise. (I.e she lets you tell the group about your past which covers your ass when Lilly tries to accuse you of being a murderer.)
Carley.

Doug.
Sure, Carley fans got a romance subplot, leadership encouragement, and the ability to tell people about your past, but Doug fans got Doug.
Doug is love, Doug is life, Doug is law, Doug is God.

Carley, because...
Vince
Start a romance with her..
I saved Carley the first time.
All because of a romantic subplot, a lot more helpful in a fight, and letting Clem know about Lee's past.
Doug because he was funny and the scene when you tell him to shut up was funny too, if I had to do the choice today then it would be Carley obviously.
C'mon! Doug looks like the kind of guy that could knock a couple of heads together if he had to. He's all muscle, I'm telling you.
Doug had bigger tits than Carley.
I thought Carley would be more useful, with guns. Not as a ''partner'' for Lee.

Well, people here really don't know how to take a joke..

Carley, because she had b00bs.
Just kidding, in all honesty I saved her because I thought she would be more useful. I had no romance in my mind when I made that decision.
I'll leave you to guess who I chose.
Don't strain yourselves.
I liked it. ; )
I liked it. ; )
That's because over half the people here are still in middle school.
I chose Carley because she had a gun, i was hoping by choosing her that she could use it to save Doug but it didn't happen.

You wouldn't happen to be FireZen360, would you?
That would be the name on PSN and Fanfiction bro, unless there's another profile i'm forgetting about..
I picked Doug the first time and then the second time I picked Carley.
Doug, i liked his Polar Bear Antler shirt. Carly knew i was a killer so... well i had to choose right!
Uh still don't get it, it must be a girl thing.

Yeah I saved carley, because I wanted Lee to be happy

lol funny vid
Is this pretty dated question?
Doug
1)Doug memorising tv codes allowed you to distract all the walkers in the near vicinity long enough to get the keys.
2) He saved Carley's life before you meet up with the group.
3) He knows how to put batteries into a radio.
