Why Do People Think Luke Is Weak?
![Kennysucks](https://cdn.telltalegames.com/avatars/v1/200x250/banned_avatar_0001.png)
so i've seen a couple of threads (one i made included) talking about how strong they think each character would last in a fist fight, and for some reason most people think Luke is a complete weakling who would get his ass kicked? why?

Because Shaundi brainwashed everyone to hate Luke by always shipping Cluke 0_0
Probably because he's come to be seen by the fandom as a sort of pretty boy/heartthrob that's mainly there to titillate the fangirls. That kind of stereotype doesn't give off as much masculinity as, say, a pissed off redneck. He also hasn't really had a chance to demonstrate that much physical prowess in combat, except for little bit where he and Pete saved Clem from those walkers.
I kinda get what you're saying but I still trust Luke to be stronger than Kenny for some reason
I don't know about stronger but the way I see it, a guy who prefers to fight off walkers with a melee weapon and gets the job done ain't no slouch in a fight. He probably relies more on speed and agility than brute strength, but so did Molly. And she kicked the shit of Kenny and possibly Lee.
I suppose but i mean i dont see how people can just infer that Luke is weak just because hes calmer or that hes a bit smaller, i mean most people think that if your not big and buff your not strong, but to be honest thats not the case, there is a chemical in men (its not testosterone, its a different one which increases muscle size) and every man can produce it but every man has a different point at which it stops and at that point, your muscles stop growing bigger but they continue to grow stronger. its like women, the dont have this chemical at all so they never look like a super big 7 foot tall buff guy who when you look at him you just see someone whos like a "im going to crush your face in and not even say sorry" type of guy, instead their muscle strength just grows
Like AWESOMEO said, she who shall not be named brainwashed us all for the worse. I ignore it though... I still love Luke's character and nothing will change that. Luke is a fine bunch of pixels![;) ;)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
If Luke is stronger than Kenny, it is most likely because he is younger, since people do get weaker with age.
But, so far, I haven't seen much proof for his physical prowess in combat. He is endurant, I can give him that - having a minor head wound, he managed to keep himself from falling from the bridge (though, it's more his agility), and he kept tracking the group after getting separated with barely getting rest and supplies and food. But, those are proofs of his agility, maybe prowess, and endurance, not exactly physical strength.
While I'm not arguing for the most part, Molly only swept Kenny off his feet, I don't know if that counts as kicking the shit out of somebody.
Actually, it is no brainwash, it's a bias. We think of Luke and associate him with Shaundi, giving him a negative connotation as well.
Luke himself is fine, that crazy fangirl and her minions aren't.
Probably because he got caught for taking food.
But Luke hadn't slept or ate for probably 3 days. He had to do it. I bet everyone else would have done the same thing.
i think luke is not weak physically but mentally and by that i mean he is too good of a guy thats it, still i believe we havent seen full luke so far. hoping to learn alot more about him in next ep.
Probably because he hadn't had his 'awesome' moment, except off-screen, which hinders his character in comparison to, say, Kenny. His act to follow the group non-stop without rest sounds awesome on paper, but when it happens off-screen, it loses impact. Sure he can kill walkers efficiently, but in a zombie apocalypse world, everyone is pretty much expected to kill walkers on a daily bases.
I also think that some players perceive Luke's 'niceness' as a weakness and prefers the more aggressive and in-your-face personality. It doesn't help that Luke has this mysterious habit of disappearing at the worst possible time, which hinders the player's ability to connect with him.
Maybe, he has proposed to make tough decisions, such as to possibly leave some people behind at Carvers Camp and he was hesitant to bring Clem with them due to the bite
Well when Luke disappears its not like he isn't being smart, he seems to know whats going on and gets a plan, plus hes only done it once, the next time on the walking dead doesn't count, because i mean if you look at one of those and then play the episode right after you will notice almost NOTHING is the same
Of course, I agreed with Luke's plan and didn't think that he abandoned his group. And the 'next time' teaser for Episode 4 is always inconsistent to the actual episode, so chances are Luke might not actually vanish again in the final product.
I feel like he is selfish. But that is just my opinion
Refusing to shoot Carver...
Fair point. Also, just realized I sounded like Lexi by saying that last sentence...
Yeah, it does sound kind of Lexi-like, strange that I didn't pay any mind to that.
Actually, it was natural for him to freak out on that moment.
What would you do if a eleven year old girl told you to kill a man?
He completely disagreed with the idea of killing a dog after it attacked and nearly killed a child. We haven't seen him truly fight someone, sure. But usually people who have that mindset two years into the apocalypse are weak.
Actually it wasn't natural for him to freak out on that moment. Clem suggested to kill a man, that captured and imprisoned their group, killed a lot of people, out of craziness, forced a father to beat up his own daughter and did almost beat Kenny to death, just some hours ago. Anyone who thinks killing Carver was wrong, is simple not thinking clearly.
But still, it's a CHILD that's telling him to do that.
Even if some years already passed on this zombie apocalypse, it's difficult to face that things changed and even children are already facing "adult stuff".
We all see Clementine like some kind of mature person, and she is, for her age; but she's still a child, and it's hard to see/hear something like that coming from her mouth.
So I understand and agree with Luke freaking out on that moment.
As you already mentioned above " it's a zombie apocalypse ". It doesn't matter who you were before that point. You ain't a girl, or a boy, you ain't big, you ain't little, you are alive! Clem has been though more horrible things than any of us could possibly imagine. You have to stop treating her like a little girl.
I understand Luke's reasons, but that doesn't make it any less wrong.
A lot people people here hate Luke either because of Shaundi or because of some made up rivalry with Kenny. He actually looks well-built to me and the fact that he fights zombies with a machete only shows this more. He did fuck up at Carver's camp (the incident with the bridge was sheer bad luck), but doesn't make him weak in any way.
Prove it.
If i had to choose, i would want Molly watching my back. Luke is just too unreliable as Kenny. She beat the crap out of me, so she can do that to the "bad" guys.
Goddamnit, Shaundi.
You can't judge a persons physical fighting just by there perosnality or looks.
Did you see Molly?!
The incident with the bridge was sheer Nick.
Oh yeah, it's not like Clementine got stronger and sewed her own arm, and fought a walker single handedly with only a hammer, more than once, and has saved people's lives.
In the heat of the moment you don't say the right thing sometimes. Clementine never explained that she kicked it off of her and it was impaled by wires. All Luke knows is that a dog bit her, and she killed it.
^^
He's not treating her like a little girl.. he's saying. It's shocking for a humane person like Luke is, to hear something like that come out of a childs mouth. I'd be shocked too. There's not a lot of livin' people out there these days in the ZA, every person counts.
I agree and disagree with Luke, I agree, since it's not a humane thing to do, and if we did, we'd lose another member of the "Alive and well" team.
I disagree since if Kenny didn't kill Carver, he'd be a danger to the group, and everyone else.
I meant conviniently being incapacitated as soon as walker appear
.
I whooped Molly!
Most others wouldn't have been able to survive the 3 days chasing the group to begin with. Luke is a titan in my opinion, I am surprised he hadn't pass out right in front of us.
Same i never coulda done that, one time me and my friend were staying up late playing videogames, i drank 6 cans of coke for the caffine to stay awake but despite my efforts i passed out mid game around 1-2 am xD
was it for trying to sneak food? cause he NEEDED that food, hes gone 3 days without eating, stopping for breaks, or sleeping just to get to the camp, if that was me i would have passed out on day 1 of the journey
I agree with what your saying, and i understand how Kenny shooting him was needed so he didnt follow us, but we would have had him hostage and kept him as prisoner if we followed lukes advice, thats a lot less safe but its more humane, not like i really care if anything humanes in the moment anyways though, my first playthrough of ep 2 i told Kenny to keep shooting regardless of who he had hostage, and in my first playthrough of ep 3 i went full barbarian and wanted to kill carver and when kenny shot him i got the crowbar i clapped and cheered and then when i played the second time i noticed how upset everyone else was about it![:p :p](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
Same I kicked her ass and it was brutal
