*SPOILER S2E3* Am I the only one that dislikes Jane?
I gotta say... from what i've seen of Jane, I don't like her all that much. I feel as if i'm just supposed to like her, but I can't find any attachment to her. She's like Molly, but what I liked about Molly was that she had some sort of heart, but Jane just seems so emotionless like she simply doesn't care.
What do you think? I just feel like this opinion is a minority.

At the moment, I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
Definitely don't trust her though.
i don't dislike her, but i really couldn't care less about her :P
That's reasonable :P
Janeisfuckingsketchy
I don't like Jane, I don't get a good vibe from her, and I can tell she's not fond of anyone who isn't emotionless or who isn't strong enough. Sarah for example is sweet, needs to be taken care of, and would die in two seconds on her own. So to Jane, Sarah's nothing but a liability and Jane would probably love to get rid of her completely. And being one of the head soldiers in Sarah's defense army, that puts Jane directly onto my shit list.
[uproarious neutral applause]
From what i've seen, she seems like a cool character. But i have to admit, she does have a ''Molly'' feeling in her.
I like her. I don't trust her 100% but I like her.
I'm betting that people will end up being pretty split on her character, depending on how pragmatic and survivalist they themselves are. But on the other twd forum that I frequent, she actually got weeded out pretty quickly in the character elimination game that we're playing.
Lee: How do you feel about Chuck?
Clem: I don't know.
Lee: Me neither. He might be a good guy.
Clem: You think?
Lee: Let's try and keep an open mind about him.
Remember that conversation? I think there might be some good to Jane besides crippling guys physically and mentally for whatever remains of their short lives. She might be a team player in the future episodes. Those trailers aren't set in stone.
God, that conversation always makes me remember how little Clem seemed to trust Chuck even though he does so much for her.
If she didn't seem to trust him, then that's pretty healthy. Especially after your guardian asks you if something a stranger just gave you had a strange taste. Even more when that same stranger makes it sound like you'll die the same way a friend did.
No I do understand her reasons. She didn't hear Chuck explaining himself. I just think it's too bad that she never really got the chance to warm up to him before his demise. Even after he saved her from certain death, she never so much as mentioned him again.
Impressive. I did not think I would find a likeminded individual for this issue on these forums.
Personally, at the moment, I have deemed it too early to judge Jane, as her involvement has mainly mimicked that of Chuck, which means that she just tags along and stays out of the way for the time being, and thus I have little else to dislike but her seeming lack of a balancing weakness.
But indeed, she has shown dark potential of becoming like Molly, who was written so ridiculously Mary Sue-y that she got dangerously close to the "original character" territory of writing. All topped up with a dramatic past, too. Just... wow. Textbook Mary Sue.
So yeah, no, you are not alone in having these thoughts. You are in the good for not following the hive mind of the community. Not too sure how many there are of us, though.
Oh, yeah, yeah...
Who knows? Maybe the group'll come across someone who had the same type of wisdom that Chuck had.
I don't like Jane either. She seems the type to leave the group high and dry once things get tough. I don't hate her, it's simply dislike for me at this point. And a sure as hell don't trust her.
It doesn't even seem to be that much of a minority opinion, actually.
And I find myself liking Jane's character much more than Molly's because unlike Molly, she seems to be written more as a sociopath, rather than just a "stoic badass"-type character. The way she casually toyed with Troy to get what she wanted and then mutilated and left him for dead proved that she's a far darker character than Molly, whose cynicism and aloofness just came off as insincere.
I have no doubt in my mind that Jane would leave everyone in the group to the wolves if it meant that she had a better chance of coming out the other end unscathed. And that actually makes her a really interesting companion character to me.
I'll like her more if she takes an antagonistic role rather than being revealed as the cliche badass survivor with a hidden heart of gold. I'd like to see her abandon or otherwise screw over Clem and her group to save herself, without the slightest shred of regret in doing so.
I don't dislike her, but I don't like her either. I don't trust her at all though, she barely has any character development, and her voice is strange.
I like Jane, she's awesome and cunning, and I really doubt she will betray Clem just like that,as she's also impressed by Clem's skill, people only dislike her just because she crippled someone for the good of Clem's group which is a weird reason, and she barely get enough screen time, you already judge her? just wait until the next episode where she seem will get more
This ^^^ Jane is really pretty cool. She's my favorite female character this season.
Same, she is kinda meh. She hasn't really done anything good and all's she did was shoot his dick off, wow, that's so new! Joel did it too but fuck him, right?
If Jane tries to convince Clem to leave the group and go with her, I'll kill Jane.
Well said. Took the words right outta my mouth.
She shot Troy in the dick! Of all the places Jane, of all the places you shot him in the fucking dick!
I like her as a character. She's sort of like a hardened veteran and she may have been through more than we can imagine. But I don't trust her. Like you said, she's too emotionless. My impression is that she can grow to respect you at best, but she'd still leave you to a herd if helping you meant putting herself in danger.
But it was effective nonetheless, that's the only thing matters in a time like that.
But Troy was cool (except when he hit Clem with the AK-47) he could have lived and been apart of the team! He seemed so easily led a stray once Jane told him that they could leave and surely he saw Carver's body making his way out, knowing full well that his rain of terror was over and that he could do as he please. He obviously wasn't truly dedicated to Carver as he immediately decide that he wanted to leave by saying "Where would we go?"
Plus, he was voiced by OMID- I mean, Owen Thomas. Troy should've lived!
If dat bitch ask me to Leave Kenny or Luke and my friends ima hit her in the balls
We shall shoot her in the balls and avenge Troy!
He's not cool,he's a total dirtbag. Also he's a shameless bootlicker by always doing deeds for carver overzealously without question,he has no redeeming quality unlike Bonnie,I'm just glad he ended the way he deserved, torn to pieces by zombies, and that shot is just a prove that his lust & desire is corrupting his mind.Regardless of voice actor,I still don't like his character, ever.
But think how great it could've been if we had a bootlicker, who does everything without question in the group. If we got him on our side, he could've been a team player.
Me neither. She's extremely sketchy.
Troy.. the misunderstand man who kept accidentally hitting Clem because he was just trying to get the bumblebee off her face
I dont like her too. She only takes care of herselft.
I don't trust her yet, she could be a bad influence on Clem if she wants her to leave the group like the preview implied.
I think the same thing, i don't trust her for a second after what she did to Troy. Poor guy, i could imagine how much that would hurt. It makes me cringe just thinking about it. If the game gives me the option to dump Jane or let her die, i'm taking that option and running. I am going to do a Christa and never turn back.
Besides she is against my favorite characters, Nick and Sarah. My Clementine will mother Nick for as long as she is able, Sarah too. I will never abandon them, they are just too "Ben-like" for me to abandon.
yeah
RIP Troy
I dislike Jane about as much as I dislike Becca. And for context, that's a lot. She's crazy, and I don't trust her.
Troy was far from cool, I found him the biggest scumbag of the entire Walking Dead series even. His presence was even unwelcome, I preferred him when he kept his mouth shut. He was rude to everyone he met, hit Clementine and tried WAY too hard to sound tough while he was nothing but a second-rate stupid thug. His only redeeming quality is when he saved Clementine.
Plus, the voice actor doesn't matter, their performance is fine but if you hate the character, you simply hate the character. Another prime example would be the fact that Dave Fennoy voices Bluebeard in The Wolf Among Us who I have a strong dislike for while in The Walking Dead he voices Lee, my all time favourite Walking Dead character.
