It sucks because Troy had the potential to become a villain gone good, I mean its shown that he doesn't really like being at Carver's Camp, and when he is tricked and told that he can come with him, he was so surprised and I think he had a Bonnie moment where he had seen such kindness and that he truly felt resourceful for what he did. Troy has had many faults, but i'm to forgiving of a person to say he 100% deserved the insanely painful death of being shot in the dick, then having walkers slowly devour him
i know its cliche but if you did that, you would have been no better than they were, also if you "play by the rules" of Carvers Camp, you only get thrown forward and shoved forward by Troy, in fact, despite Troy saying "Next time i see you in here (the comic book store) you will meet the back of my hand", if you look for luke and then try to leave before troy shows up, he finds you, but he doesn't hit you
I imagine that Jane had a grudge based on how she killed him, but that exchange felt like the only moment that made Troy sound unsure of what he was doing. Like the idea of being able to leave was kind of a hopeful disbelief on his part.

This is the zombie apocalypse, analyze the situation from that standpoint. What happens to most kids? We've got Jolene and Crawfrod as examples. In Jolene's case, her daughter was sold for child prostitution and in Crawford, kids were killed and maybe even abused because they were seen as nuisance. The fact that Troy is being treated as the worst kind of garbage within this universe is, in my humble opinion, bullshit.
