How can Telltale surprise us with Wellington? (make it not predictable)
So I have been thinking about this for a very long time and I'm just wondering what everyone else thinks about this how can telltale make Wellington not predictable and actually surprise us
I can only see three things happening with Wellington
- It is overrun by walkers
2.It is run by bad people (Woodbury all over again)
3.It actually is a good safe haven and will become the game's version of the Alexandria Safe Zone

I got an idea, there could be a large group of bandits attacking the camp and you and your group will have to risk your life to get the permission to enter the camp. It's a good place but too many factors like too many wounded, bandits, and the unstable weather lead into Clem & Co leaving.
1)It's a military stronghold against the walkers
2)It's a Crawford situation
3)The group almost makes it and gets kidnapped
Maybe it's a safe haven, but with a catch. They only have room for Clem and one other person. You can either:
A) Go in with Christa
Go in with Luke
C) Go in with Kenny
D) Choose to remain outside with everyone
Naturally, this will have to be the final choice of the series.
If that did happen I would go with D
Have it be a collection of crazy Lovecraftian cultists who believe the ZA is a prelude to the rise of Cthulhu.
Unfortunately, something wildly stupid like that is probably the only way it can be a surprise because societies in the Walking Dead universe are always just a collection of those scenarios you mentioned: good place but has outside problems, overrun with zombies, bad place filled with bad people, and so on. I like the idea mentioned above about the final choice being who you bring in, though I don't think that'd work out too well unless it was the end of the series since the next season would be full of determinant actions and dialogue that TellTale probably wouldn't want to have to do, especially if there's an option to not go in at all. Seems way too divergent for the one storyline they're trying to tell.
It may be military quarantined zone, we've never seen one of those.
It's going fall to the dead
Just like Molly said
Honestly, at this point, it being a stable community run by a level-headed, fair leader would be more of a surprise than anything.
By making it safe (and not Crawford safe). It would be the most surprising thing in my opinion.
Or maybe by making it completely deserted.
Damn that would be a hard decision to make. I hope it doesn't come down to that.
The surprise might be that Christa's there. She survived because she got lucky, real lucky.
What would be surprising for Wellington...
Surprise! It's run by Nate! Who is actually a very nice guy, that just gets a bit loopy when he's drunk. But he's been off the sauce for quiet some time now
Ether that or it's run by the French inquisition.
No one would expect that.
Nobody expects the Inquisition. Nobody.
If we keep discussing it and throwing around theories everything will be predictable.
I had a read up on the Alexandria Safe-Zone [since I haven't read the comics XD] I definitely wouldn't mind it being like that. I think if it's a bad place it would be too predictable, maybe. Then again at the same time, it would be a real punch in a stomach if the group go all that way and there's nothing left.
How could they surprise me? Make it nice and safe and friendly, all "oh hey they got pizza and ice cream here, this is so awesome" and then hit the bombshell of news like "oh no a huge herd is coming" or "ah bandbits are attacking!" or "oh shit it's run by Lilly! Kenny ruuun!". So yep, lure you in a false sense of security and BOOM.
If it was a military stronghold then I'm sure someone like Christa or Kenny would of mentioned that. I just hope it's a safe haven at last and in all honesty I think that is where Clementine's story will end and possibly TWDG all together, because it would be the best way to end the story with a good ending rather than a dark bad ending where they would kill her off.
But saying that, 2 seasons of TWDG is a bit short, I would of thought 3 at least.
It needs to be creative, it cant be a safe haven cause what fun would the game be then?
I want it to be a regular city but very popular amongst survivors, most of them bandits, so its kinda like a Dayz situation in one of the big cities where you can hardly even get around without a good plan.
"What the fuck happened?"
"The same thing that always happens. In the end, the dead always win."
I can't chose over my three favorite characters (not including Clem and Lee) so if by 'Choose to remain outside with everyone' you mean just decide that no one goes to Wellington, and we all stick together, that'd be awesome!
but we might die out in the cold.
Wellington turns out to be a kids playground.
Joking aside - it might be:
However they've already done that with the St.Johns
I know, we might die by any means not being in Wellington, but i'd rather die happy than knowing that I just screwed over the rest of my group while I live in harmony.
Yeah, maybe they could find another cabin or something.
Sounds a lot like The Banner Saga
That was just Molly being annoying again, the current state of Rick and the community in the comics shows that she is wrong.
Another Douglas Monroe with another crappy son?
Nobody expects a Quinari to show up at your doorstep at the cabin instead of Luke, but hey, anything's possible. Lol imagine that, instead of Luke coming to the door it isn't him, it isn't Carver, it's a quinari with a huge ass unsheathed war hammer,...what do you do?
A.....GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE
B......GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE
X.....,GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE
Y...............................................................GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE
we meet Christa on our way to Wellington and while she's taking us to her camp she tells us how she couldn't have survived with out help form this woman she met and when we get there it turns out to be Lily
i thought that maybe clementine and her group just almost get there and they pass out from the cold and are awaken inside the wellington base.
Yeah but they had 'we are bad people' written all over them. It was too easy to tell the group couldn't trust them from the get go. Although that said, maybe Wellington won't have things like cannibals there. I really hope not, I don't want the season to end on a Clem burger T_T
1) & 2) are actually predictable
i support this, he is a nice guy as long as you don't shoot at him, or kill his friend.
Wellington- My Three guesses. Most likely in my opinion #3. No such thing as a happy ending in TWD.
Walking all the way to Michagan, the group finds themselves is a violence filled hell-hole, blocks of dilapitated buildings where society has completely broken down. Then they find out "wait, this isn't Wellington, it's Detroit..."
No wonder they went bankrupt, Unicorns are expensive.
I really like the ideas of a place that is still under Military control.
Another idea I had is a place run by a group of religious/cultist nuts who believe this is some step in the "Awakening" or something like that. And they all plan for one day soon to be some sort of epiphany moment...thing. But the only word of the place that's made it to Virginia is "haven". I think this would be a good idea because it brings the idea of challenging faith in, and plus, it's the faith of a people who are on the brink of collapse. If Clementine disagrees with them, a lot worse things could happen.
That's the second reference to a Paul Verhoeven film you've made today... If you can somehow fit in Total Recall that'd be gold.
He's good for sci-fi... When he gets into the 'erotic thriller' it's crap. Showgirls bombed, and then there was this:
inb4 falls to dead
Wellington will not be run by anybody. It will be a war zone where people roamed to find sanctuary but fewer resources. Any humans found here will inevitably betray the group. The entire idea of Wellington was either misinformation or a trap spread word of mouth.
