Doesn't matter how much you like or dislike a kid. You save the children before you save the adults.
I think that's kind of a western per… morespective on things, but its thoroughly ingrained in me. The choice was obvious for me the moment it presented itself, regardless of whether Duck was annoying.
Don't you think It'd be too Season 1-ish? They have to innovate to give Season 2 an edge, They can't stay the same forever. The characters a… morere still loose because Clementine is still somekind of an intruder to the community. Episode 4 and 5 will lead to choose between Survivalists vs Community and to see both clearly in Amid the ruins and then judge in Ep5. If it was applied in that kind of plot, it'd be too similar to season 1 and the ending won't be any good.
I realised the development was bad because of THAT thing ZA stories do where they have to have some precarious prison like location run by idealistic unhinged nut cases. Then the group or individual(s) escape within a day or two.
Bonus points if the prison is run by a sociopath who rules with an iron fist, and comes off as being well-mannered and intellectual, then shows just how much of a scum bag they are. Man, Carver was ruined on episode 3.
Keep them going on in the direction they were going in the 1st two eps and 400 days.
Make Carver more morally gray and less of a sadist n… moreutjob.
Have Troy speak less and be less of an ass.
Give Nick more lines and actual importance.
Make the episode less Kenny centric and give us a reason to fucking care about the Cabin Crew.
Not have Sarita as an object for Kenny to go batshit over but instead have be some sort of Aunt/Mother figure for Clementine who looks out for her and keeps her "humane"
Not have Carver kill Reggie over berries. Instead have him kill Reggie when Carver finds out about the walkie talkie plan.
I think smashing Larry's skull in the dairy was the right decision. He had a heart attack, like full on cardiac arrest, and without any medical supplies there was no way he was coming back. You might argue that in the 'help Lilly' option he moves his jaw, but I think he was just reanimating. Either way, whether he was or not, I simply could not allow Clem to be in danger. If he had turned... she might have gotten hurt, or worse - bitten. (Or even killed.) I couldn't risk that, and I was very surprised that so many did.
I strongly dislike Kenny for various reasons. (I'm guaranteed to get tonnes of dislikes for that one.)
I didn't put Sam out of his misery.
I feel they ruined Carvers character from E2 to E3. He came across as cold, calculating and intelligent in episode 2. In episode 3 he was just made out to be some sadistic psychopath.

*TWD gameplay was a complete rip off of Heavy Rain which was released years before and won many awards so I always cringe when hear I telltale go on about being history defining and innovators of the point and click when QTE's, Timed dialogue, Decision based story, Dialogue options, even way walk around clicking stuff and movie based etc all heavy Rain credit where credit is due.
I remember an interview with telltale saying we came up with the idea to time dialogue as added more tension to the scene as we felt something was missing it was never done before so it was risky.(No you didn't Heavy Rain was highly rated and did it before you)
Haven't really played Heavy Rain, So I can't judge. But I will say that I heavily disagree about your opinion about Season 2 and that TWDG wasn't a risk. Every new IP is a risk, Every new IP can fail tremendously which will result into a bad reputation for the dev team.
Ok here come the downthumbs but meh

When telltale said TWD was a massive risk they made a game with a budget of 100,000 and had a brand with millions of fans so it was no risk
Do you know what I want for season 2 I want it to be shorter, hardly any decisions, more cut scenes with no gameplay? do you know who said that no one
With such a small budget with a brand of millions of fans even if they made The walking dead survival instinct with that small budget there guaranteed big profit in my opinion especially the fact they also released it across all platforms maximizing the profit even more

Though I do not hate them I find both Kenny and Carley overrated, but for different reasons and in different situations. In contrast, I feel that Katjaa and Doug are underrated.
I happen to side with Lilly more than Kenny, and even with the Carley/Doug/RV incident, I do not hate her.
I don't hate Becca and never saw her as annoying or detestable.
I feel that Christa got unfairly tossed aside in Season 2 in favour for more Kenny screentime.
I feel that the possibility that we'll be having a Kenny VS Luke event in the future is cliché and a rehash of Kenny VS Lilly of Season 1, especially since that we all know that Telltale will chose Kenny in the end regardless of who we choose. I'd prefer if Kenny and Luke got along instead of being enemies.
I liked Lilly and felt bad for her. I don't think the narrative did her justice--the plot was written against her, as if the writers wanted us to favor Kenny over her. It wasn't a proper balance.
I'd be happy to see her return, and if she did I would hope she gets a better portrayal.
I like Carver. Not as a person, of course, but I think he was an interesting character. I feared him, but at the same time I adored him. Too bad Telltale wasted his potential as an awesome villian. I also didn't stay to watch his death, but that has nothing to do with my sympathy for him.
Too bad Telltale wasted his potential as an awesome villian.
Preach it! I rooted for Carver in episode 2. I absolutely loved the scene in the house when you meet him for the first time, he was calm and collected and most of all, he was imposing fear by barely doing anything.
Then episode 3 drops and we get ourselves a one dimensional psychopath who thrown a guy from a rooftop because of some seeds. After replaying the episode I pretty much changed my opinions over some of the other issues with the episode, except this one. I can't help thinking how his actions seemed forced just for the sake of making the player hate him.

Not sure how unpopular this decision is/isn't, but I didn't hesitate to loot the station wagon in 102. I mean, I'm supposed to let my starving group pass on a stockpile of supplies because I might or might not be stealing from another group? Anybody dumb enough to leave their supplies completel unguarded had it coming eventually (which I guess means I cna't be made when Vernon jacked my boat, since I didn't leave anyone to defend it).
Also in 102, I knew that killing Larry was the right call. Does anyone remember his heart attack in the first episode? He barely survived that, and he actually had a relatively safe place to lie low until he got medicine. In this case, he has no medicine, is in the middle of a very stressful situation, and there's no way we kill him once he reanimates. Even if he wasn't dead then (which I think he was), how long do you think he'll last in that state?
I didn't stick around ot watch Carver die; I wanted to show him that I don't enjoy the pain of others like he does. Besides, Clem's compassion is one of the things I find so endearing. Yes, she's tough and resourceful like Carver but that's where the similiarities end.
This reminds me of an interview with Telltale talking about how everyone hated Larry at the end of S1E1. The online world was calling for his head.. But when S1E2 came out, the majority tried to help Lilly save Larry. Same with Ben, so many talked shit wanting him dead but most saved him at the bell tower. Kinda funny how people will talk, but when the situation is in their face, they switch.
I think a lot of us saw ourselves in Ben. We saw our hope and courage in Lee, but Ben was like that insecure part of us that, one way or another, makes us who we are.
I actually really liked Ben as a character.
Yeah, he screwed up a lot (and indirectly caused the death of Kenny's family), but I still th… moreought that because he was so awkward, he was hilarious. It was a good addition to the game to add a cowardice, nervous teenager who acted the complete opposite from how Lee, Kenny, Christa, etc. handled everything. He was insecure and struggling with the fact that, yes, he knows he's considered deadweight.
I just felt really bad for him.
Keep them going on in the direction they were going in the 1st two eps and 400 days.

Honestly, you could have had a bit of character development while walking to the mountains, or a little more at the ski resort, or while sitting around in the prison.
But I generally feel these few episodes have tried to give off a feeling of not being in control of things happening,
Like being trapped, but its on thing after another in this series, when are you really going to have heart to hearts with people when they don't trust you as far as they can throw you, then... the whole nick and Pete thing, then carver and being on the run from the, then meeting Kenny, then being taken back as prisoners to carvers camp.
Where in all that do you see an opening to get down a gritty into the back stories of the cabin group.
Yes, there could have been openings for this, but its mot exactly the right time considering the more important things.
There have been some good moments to connect with the characters, Luke and Pete, going to the river, that was nice, especially how they opened up when they are trapped. You get to see how much Sarah has been sheltered, how much Carlos wants to protect his daughter, instead of being the hard face doctor, he's soft inside. Rebecca is worried about the baby, her hormones are going wild, you do not want to cross a pregnant woman haha! But the baby isn't Alvins and she has to bring new life into a fucked up word.
We know a lot about them, maybe not as much as people want, but that's to keep your imagination running,
thinking is this person to be trusted?
There hasn't been as much character development as the last because there hasn't been much time for it, plus your a child, things are going to be different playing as a child than a adult.
Nut I think people need to stop nit picking and saying oh 'i could so it better' but you didn't.
You didn't make the game, they're trying to make a better game than season 1 how hard do you think it will be to top that?
Its not easy. Give them a break, wait till all the episodes are out, then make your judgement. The series is only half done, you don't know what they have in store for you.
I didn't care about any of the DLC characters, and I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would. And I hated Nate. I'm pretty sure he's a rapist.
I didn't hate Duck. He was just "dumb as a bag of hammers." Wasn't his fault. He was just born that way.
I didn't cut Lee's arm off. I wasn't sure it would work and I didn't want Lee to suffer.
I didn't watch Carver die. I just had absolutely no desire to. And I honestly feel like everyone who did watch is a bloodthirsty monster....No offense to any of you. Just saying.
So you're saying it's okay for me to not give two shits about the characters and for a bunch of the characters to be a bunch of cardboard cutouts of actual personalities. I don't need to know about their entire fucking life story but give me a reason to fucking care about these guys we've been stuck with for 3 episodes already. How many characters do I care about now? Kenny and Nick. Why? Because they were actually developed and are more interesting characters than everyone else.
I know more about Chet from season 1 than I do about most of the Cabin Crew.

10 minutes of misogynistic dialogue AND using a walker to attack Russell AND ruthlessly killing a defenseless old couple who he robbed and shot earlier AND attacking Eddie and Wyatt. It's obvious to me he's a psychopath. Besides, your argument is that 10 minutes wasn't enough time for us to decide he was a bad guy but it was enough time for you to decide he was just like you? Just saying.
I know a lot of people hate Lilly. I don't. I would be happy to see her return, though in game I would almost certainly greet her with ambivalence given the circumstances under which she left us.

I don't see how this's an unpopular opinion
I agree with you. Adults, in most cases, can fend for themselves more than children are able to.
I do not think that staying to watch Carver's death was a mistake.
How is it too season 1ish?
I like Carver in Episode 3 better than in Episode 2.
I realised the development was bad because of THAT thing ZA stories do where they have to have some precarious prison like location run by idealistic unhinged nut cases. Then the group or individual(s) escape within a day or two.

I tried to speak up when they had our group at gunpoint (Episode 3 - In Harm's Way)
I strongly dislike Kenny for various reasons. (I'm guaranteed to get tonnes of dislikes for that one.)

Same formula of meeting people, Care about them and then they'll all die. Camp group introduction was unique, And It's all setting up for Ep5 Choice.
Neither do I.
Me too. I had the feeling in my heart that I want to smash his head myself.
I wanted to Saltlick him as well. But I had to play it nice with Lilly, So I didn't do anything.
The first one is an unpopular opinion, Not sure about the second, The third is a popular one.
I don't recall that situation. Do you mind reminding me?
Ok here come the downthumbs but meh

So it's better to not care about them?
What camp group? I only know 4 people who were part of the camp with names and played a role in the ep.
If it doesn't set up for the ep 5 choice?
Preach it! I rooted for Carver in episode 2. I absolutely loved the scene in the house when you meet him for the first time, he was calm and collected and most of all, he was imposing fear by barely doing anything.

Upvoting. Not because I don't like Kenny but, you know. The thread is for unpopular opinions. So how are there downvotes?
I think a lot of us saw ourselves in Ben. We saw our hope and courage in Lee, but Ben was like that insecure part of us that, one way or another, makes us who we are.
This is all too true. It would've been great to see Carver actually do things that were sorta nice, just so it'd mess with our heads
I'm sure the second one is a very unpopular opinion. I mean, it's a dog!
Yeah, It looked like Telltale were just pointing Carver in our face and saying "OMG ITS CARVER! HES SO BAD! HATE HIM!!!11". That was embarassing.

Shawn was stuck under a tractor. There was no way he could fend for himself.
Double post. Ignore.
-I wouldn't mind if Kenny got killed off in the near future. (bring the hate)
-I prefer Doug over Carley (story wise)
-I don't hate Becca, Lily or anyone else, really.
-Until the Ep. 3 trailer, I thought Carver was still redeemable.
lol really? Most people think he is a misogynist piece of garbage, possibly a rapist based on 10 minutes of dialogue.
I didn't care about any of the DLC characters, and I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would. And I hated Nate. I'm pretty sure he's a rapist.

Well here's mine.
I think it's so far better (In terms of story) for Nick to die in Episode 2.
Then again I might just be in denial. Because Nick is dead in my playthrough.![:\ :\](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
