If it were to be a zombie apocalypse like in TWDG, i'd probably stick it out for as long as I could, maybe 3 months-3 years or hell, probabl… morey longer due to how easy it is to out run a zombie, but if I ever got in a situation where I was either depressed or stuck, i'd commit suicide.
As someone studying biology, I can tell you that the human body has an anaerobic (without oxygen) way of producing energy, it just doesn't make that much. Plus it could only power the brain and muscles because it uses suger and most of your organs need keto acids (fat) for energy. The brain and muscles incidentaly being the only two things that really function in a zombie. The real question is, why do they crave human flesh instead of candy bars and corn syrup?
It's kinda impossible since they can't transport any blood (and therefore oxygen) to any parts of their body, thus making then unable to even move any muscles, nor breath and nor get any energy.
But I guess you never know :P
You say that, but what if I had no one else to care about? I typed that comment out in one of my "slopes" so I feel very different right now. The apocalypse never gets better though, so I don't see why people would be so determined to live.
I don't know, my opinions might change if it were to actually happen. Every time i've thought of it I obviously have turned it down, but I don't know, I just think there's no hope in Robert Kirkman's world.
Okay now it honestly depends on what level the apocalypse is occuring.
If it's severe and many people have died, we fortify the house, do not let anyone in and do not go outside. We get a ladder from the shed, and break the stairs, if you wan to come up you use the ladder. That way if zombies get in and we're all upstairs, we throw the ladder and then they can't get in whilst we can pack our supplies (Which we'll also be keeping upstairs) and get out (There's this weird small roof thing above our front door we can land on and just get out). Me and my father will go out to find supplies seeing as I am the elder brother and my mother could look after my younger brother whilst we're out on supply runs.
If anything bad happens and we have to leave the house, we pack up, we go to the countryside and like Christa said "we make a go of it". We find a farm, we live there, we grow supplies, we get weapons and we just...live, I guess.

Now if things aren't that severe, and let's say just a couple people died in hospital, then we pack up and we go! We go straight to the countryside, not with my fathers car however, everyone would be trying to get out our town using a car. We run, as long as we stay out of sight we'll be safe. I hope. Then we get to the countryside, scavenge, survive and try to just live on a farm I guess.

You don't end it cause it's hard. You stick it out, and help the folks you care about!
