Clementine obsession
Why are a lot of people so obsessed with Clementine?
I know she is the main character of this game but it can really get a bit over the top sometimes, don't forget that she is just a character of fiction, the only thing that is real is her voice which is done by a voice actor in her late 30s. Some of the obsessions on here are very disturbing like that stupid Cluke thing and of course in the past we had people posting very sick and rude pictures which thankfully has stopped now.
However some of it still is ridiculous, as sad as it would be if she ever got killed off, I know for sure that some people's reactions on here will go too far over a person who doesn't even exist.

It's something having to do with developing attachment for the character after the paternal instincts started kicking in in season 1.

Fictional Characters can be real to anyone because they're more than just characters they're ideas. And Clementine is a great idea

I wouldn't call it an obsession. I think that word is majorly overused. I just think she's an awesome character and it's completely ok for me and many others to talk about her as a person and not as a character, for the reason that it just isn't necessary to single her out as being fake or whatever the hell. I just feel as if Clem is like the fictional little sister i've never had. I do think it's sick when people take the "obsession" to well... pleasureful matters, but we really can't control that. I agree with most things that you say here, but just because she's fictional doesn't mean we can't connect with her. It's a story driven game, it's meant to have meaningful characters.

Okay. I am gonna play devil's advocate here and say that I have seen people, not clukers, or clem-verts, but just average people, who have taken the whole thing WAAAAAAY too far. someone mentions something about her getting hurt. Their response? "YOU HURT MY CLEM AN I WILL CUT YOU UP!" Someone says something about her growing up. Their response? "OMG NO CLEM IS SO CUTE SHE CAN NEVER AGE SHE IS MY SWEET PEA!" People call Kenny fanboys annoying with their 'stache jokes and their saltlick posts? why don't we talk about the "CLEM'S HAMSTER" and "CLEM'S BACKPACK" and "CLEM'S TREEHOUSE" and "CLEM'S HAT" and 'CLEM'S SURVIVAL KNIFE THAT SHE TOOK FROM A DEAD GUYS HOUSE". I realize some of this is exaggeration, but sometimes y'all can be really annoying. not all of you. not even most of you. only a few of you. No I won't mention any names, because most of the time it's not a problem. but occasionally a few of you go way too far over the top. Okay, let the downvoting commence!
I knew it this isn't about the forums obsession with Clem it's just about your hate for her character. Look they alway try to make characters with real world problems so you can connect more. I don't see a problem here

I don't entirely agree with Shane myself. I realized that I don't want Clem to die. That's a reasonable emotion. but if you start threating the writers, then we have a problem.
I agree, i love clementine too , but some people are actually " in love" with her. I remember when i was a kid i thought Claire Redfield was hot, i think it has something to do with age.

Yeah, I agree, I do respect Clem well enough as a great person. But I feel like what he is trying to say is that a lot of people get too defensive or caring for Clementine, losing the aspect of fiction. Now that not necessarily a bad thing, but they need to understand, she isn't real! Also, it leaves other who have opinions for Clem that may be understandable to be argued against very harshly even though that is not needed.
