I am not happy with it. At all. I'm not happy with the inconsequential inclusion of them, I don't like the hype that was built around them, I do not like the way they acted, but hell, it is not getting any better and I sort of see how the change could happen.
Leaders come in many forms. Some are what we consider morally good, some are psychopaths, like Carver. Regardless of their ethical code, leaders are leaders, and they can indeed change people for better or worse. It is more than that, though. A leader will surface when the rest of the people need something, and that figure provides. The people at Howe's were probably happy of accepting Carver because he gave them the focus necessary to survive and build something out of their new home. I think it's safe to say that if the Atlanta group had not found Rick, they would have given up the search for Sophia in AMC's season 2, because Shane was a strong leader. Would they have liked it? Nope, but it would not matter.
I am of the belief that what the community, Carver, and our 400 days cast wet through in the time that we did not see them could have very well changed them. I still do not like it. This is all speculation on my part, and while I don't need to be fed every last bit of exposition on the community and its woes, the lack of solid closure with those characters is still upsetting for me.
I get your point, but look at Kenny. He's still his same old brash, defiant, stubborn self. Telltale kept his character the same, even after all he'd been through. What makes the 400 Days group so different? Yeah, Carver and all, I get that, but I'm hard-pressed to believe that Kenny's experiences would have any less of an effect on his characters as their experiences would.
It's odd to see you think that the passing of 16 months or so (depending on when Shel and her group, or Nate and Russel visited the same gas… more station Omid died in, and when Tavia collected the 6) wouldn't change people, especially when you also don't know how long these people were living with Carver. As Bonnie mentions, she had her version of him until she saw what he was really capable of, so it's entirely possible that Carver only revealed his aggression after Clem showed up and skillfully manipulated people without threats or violence beforehand.
Basically, I think "out of character" is a very hasty conclusion given the amount we don't know concerning the 400 Days survivors, so there's no need to be disappointed out of empty assumptions. We have two more episodes to go, and many more deaths to preside over.
Actually, I think Kenny has changed a lot since Savannah, we just haven't heard much from him about what happened. If he seems like his usual self, it's probably because of Sarita, which we will be sure to hear about in episode 4, but now that front is starting to break. And then there's the potential "brain damage" which may have affected his long-term memories, possibly even "resetting" him by knocking out the availability of what happened to his wife and son.
Anyway, I see what you're saying, though again I would repeat that we still lack the development needed to judge these supposed "out of character" notions.

Yep i agree with the OP of this thread, it was pointless cameos really especially if we don't see them again, which i'm pretty sure we won't. It all feels horribly rushed because TTG don't seem to want to make episodes an extra half hour anymore to add extra character development etc. it's like the changes to Rebecca and Carlos' personality making a u-turn after Ep1, it's like the writers don't care about our choices. In one of my saves i refused to be friends with Sarah from Ep1 and yet no matter what, our choice won't matter.
There's still Hope for better Writing and Handling for the ones which stayed in the Wild. That means if we going to see them again. I really hope it. Along with Eddie and possible Nate. Which is different in the Playthroughs though. Would be Becca, Shel and Vince for me as i haven't saw them in my E3.

I don't really find most of them out of character. I mean, you have to understand. the last time you saw them was 400 days into the apocalypse. This time around, it's like 2 years in already. Many things would change.
I think Shel and Becca was spot on. I loved their cameo, and its the first one we see so that was awesome.
Wyatt's cameo was just weird and awkward to look at. Horribly done, even if it does/doesn't fit his personality
Russel's new attitude was understandable, I don't see the problem there. Thing's change and he probably changed too, like Clementine.
I didn't see Vince's cameo so idk about him
Not really, if you consider the wording. I mean, I do wish the 400 days characters could have had bigger roles (Hank got way more screen time for Pete's sake), but nothing he said was false, if that's what you mean by bullshit. Those that came with Tavia were PRESENT in the episode, and Nick's and Alvin's determinate fates from episode 2 were PRESENT in this episode.
It's just hype is all it is, with the word QUITE in bold to distract from the fact it really adds nothing to the sentence. Strongly worded hype, but that is his job after all. I think people, myself at times included, just get let down when the image they form in their minds doesn't live up to the reality.

Bottom line for the current cast.
Plus, anyone else notice that Becca barely aged during 400 Days and Season 2? Probably don't want to use a new character model.

Hopefully your right but i don't see them being on again

True however Wyatt and friend had weed in the car in 400 Days and since there was enough for two I think it's safe to say he made that weed last.

It could be, but is the name all that makes you think it was the same gas station? I always assumed it was a chain, like Shell gas stations for us.
