It's not really coincidental when you connect it all thematically and view it as a cycle that happens when characters lose their innocence. Check out the thread, I go a lot more in depth on what it means.
In Episode One "A New Day" Glenn puts clear emphasis on his morals concerning saving the woman in the motel, though they find out she is bitten, you can end her life or leave her.
In Episode Three "Long Road Ahead" These morals are completly stricken as the player is told to not try and help a woman, in which she gets bitten anyway and you can end her life or leave her.
In episode 5 Season 1 Molly tells Lee to take care of Clementine before she leaves, then the next day... Clementine is gone.
In episode 2 Season 1 Jolene (the lady who took Clementine's hat) says that as long as the St. John's Dairy Farm is operating then the bandits would leave Clementine alone, in the same episode the farm is overtaken by Walkers and in the next episode the bandits attack the group.
In episode 3 Season 1 Ben says something about punching a hole in his ticket if he got grabbed by a Walker, I think this foreshadows his attempt of suicide in the next episode where he tells Lee to let him go.

Aint she beautiful
But Sarita loses her right, so it's not really a fetish yet.
Those bags under her eyes top it all.

Dear God. Nick and Neck are only one letter apart. The plot thickens...
