Pizza or Ice Cream - Vigenere Cipher and Apophenia

Alt text

Using the keyword femmcaapvawaqgx the ciphertext pizzaoricecream is decrypted into kennyorthegroup by the Vigenère method.

Now, take a look at the femmcaap segment of the keyword . Discard the repeated letters, and you get femcap. Could it be a sign of Clementine's hat making a brief cameo after its alleged disappearance in Episode 4?

We don't know.

Edit: Check my work and laugh http://www.mygeocachingprofile.com/codebreaker.vigenerecipher.aspx

Edit II: To those who don't get it, while the cipher works, this is intended to be a joke that illustrates the deluded mind of your average wait-ridden fan.

  • Holy shit.......

  • How in the fuck?

  • I have no idea what I just read, but it's probably awesome!

  • Don't know exactly what I'm lookin at, if true then COOL!

  • holy shit!! That works, it could be a choice to be honest :O

  • Save Kenny or The group....

I have no idea what I just read, but it's probably awesome!

  • Hmmmm... there will probably only be like 3 people left in the group by the time it comes down to it.

I swear, if telltale, Job etc. used this code... lol

defo works, try this link. Enter pizza or ice cream into the encrypted text box and use femmcaapvawaqgx as the key

  • You just used the keyword that reached your desired result. femmcaapvawaqgx is nothing.

    THIS IS AWESOME :O

Edit: Wait... I'm confused :O is this some joke or something?

  • I dont know who you are, I dont know what you want ....

  • Hence apophenia. This is a joke. A funny little delusion of a deprived Telltale fan.

  • Why do I play this game!? Why do I do this to myself!? What the FUCK is wrong with me!?

  • It's not. This is some sort of coding word that people often use, and it's proven to be true ;~;

  • You get a +1 for fooling me into thinking someone cracked the code, even though I didn't understand it to begin with.

You trolls could learn a thing or two...

  • Wait... the word "hat" has 3 letters in it...

    Half Life 3 confirmed.

  • Telltale doing a Half-Life game! I wonder what choices you could do, probably they would be all ...

My god... Gaben and Telltale's delaying powers combined will create a gape lasting over 10 years long between each episode...

Hell no...TTG can't do that to us....I'm not choosing anything, I'm just gonna sit there and wait the time to run out, but if there's no time and it's a deadlocked decision....

Guys, can somebody check Sunshine and Rainbows with this code breaking thing!? What if that means something else too!?

  • Guys it was a joke, he isn't serious even tough the cipher he did works it's just a joke with people doing random theorys just because they have nothing to do.

  • That's irrelevant whether the post was intended to be a joke or not, the weird part of it all is that the cipher actually WORKS ;~;

It only works with a completely nonsense key. OP worked backwards to force it to work.

    It's a great joke though.

  • If i'm not mistaken, there's a certain code you have to find in order for it to come out as actual words, so the code isn't completely nonsense.

I'm pretty sure they started with what they wanted it to say (Kennyorthegroup), and worked until they found the code that correctly decrypted Pizzaoricecream into that. It's a caesar cipher, so quite literally you would just find the letter of the alphabet that would cause K to shift to P, E to I, etc. That is what causes the nonsense.

If it were a true cipher, the person encoding would have most likely chosen something that actually could be remembered easily, such as a word or phrase, as the key. As it is, the OP formulated something that would work, which would be technically possible between any two strings of the same length.

**Edit: This table will either help you understand or horribly confuse you! **

Basically, you would go to column F, then down to the Kth (so the K row) entry of column F, and voila, K=P. It would be simple to work backwards and find the column where the K row had a P in it, and then where the E row had an I... etc... until you had a full cipher key.

Which would be nonsense if you forced it.

Just to prove my point that you can make Pizzaoricecream say anything (as long as it's 15 letters)...

Try cipher key weoohogevejnmgu in the cipher decoder website. This took me ~ 5 minutes to decrypt to this key.
