Matthew's death (They still don't know, do they?)

edited June 2014 in The Walking Dead

What really happened with Matthew's death...I mean Kenny and Sarita still don't know that Nick shot him and I think that this is gonna be mentioned in ep. 4 and things may get messy, Kenny and Sarita're gonna hate Nick and the cabin group, Kenny'll be mad at Clem if she tries to protect them or be good to them, if she chooses them over him...
What do you think?

  • I never thought of that, mabey thats why TT gave us the choice to kill nick in episode 2.

But I think this will be ignored by telltale

  • I can already see Kenny yelling at Nick "YOU LITTLE PISSANT!" while Clem and Mike are holding him back XD

    1. There's more important things to worry about than a guy who had like a 2 minute part such as where Sarah is, Rebecca, Sarita, etc.
    2. They could have told Kenny and Sarita while in the van. There's a LOT of time missing.
    3. There are people who have games where Nick's dead so what point is there to bring it up in that case? Both Nick and Matthew are dead so why bring up the dead just to depress the living?
    4. Kenny and Sarita could also assume Carver just killed Matthew when he was heading to the lodge to attack them.
    5. It's the zombie apocalypse. There's not many people left in the world. Get pissed at every person who does something stupid and you'd be a zombie yourself because no one will be with you to help you. There's better things to focus on. Having your head stuck in the past would only get you killed.

What plot point does Matthew serve going forward? His story was done in episode 2. That's like Clem bringing up Lily, Carley/Doug, the Stranger, Ben, etc now. What point do they serve? Their stories were over in season 1. Unless the point serves to move the story forward, adding in random plot points ultimately does nothing but slow the story down and possibly muddle it up.

To err is human. It's easy to lay blame and say something is wrong, but as soon as you end up in a situation that you condemned, you could very well do the same thing or do something worse. Nick's jumpy. He has reason to be between Carver and zombies. You don't know if a zombie will walk up behind you and bite you or if someone was going to snipe you. It's easy to blame him for killing Matthew and nearly shooting Clem, but when you have a split second to react when a zombie's on you or another person is trying to kill you, quite often being jumpy might be what saves you.

  • About 1: Kenny and Matthew had probably known each other for at least 8 months, at most basically 16 months, so he and Kenny obviously had a big friendship built. Walter's death was obviously a big toll on Kenny, and who knows how big a reaction Kenny will have when he finds out about Sarita...

So yeah, I'd say that Matthew would have a pretty big toll on Kenny.

  • I don't think Kenny will hurt Clem. But I don't know about Nick...

  • He's like Goku's brother. He dies, and then you never hear of him again...

I think Kenny already knows. The look he gives Nick when he comes outside after the talk with Walter , if Nick is alive Kenny will kill him given the chance I think.

  • "Kenny and Sarita have been staying here with us for several weeks." - Walter.

That suggests that Walt and Matthew were already there and Sarita and Kenny arrived later on. Though that doesn't mean they didn't know each other well. They most likely spent all that time in the same place.
