Luke is the new Ben
I'm calling it Luke is the new Ben he cannot be trusted here's what he's done so far : He dropped Clem like a dick, He locked Clem in the shed, he was a dick to Kenny at the dinner table, he lied about Walters friend, he went AWOL when the group needed him most, he wanted to leave Kenny behind at the end of episode 3, and in the trailer Kenny says "where the hell is Luke" so he bails again. I got a feeling Luke is going to fuck shit up in the next episodes and prolly get people killed. How do you think lukes character arch is going to play out?

I keep getting mixed up with nick and luke. Nick is the one who went to carver's camp to rescue them right? And luke was the one with clementine in the shack after the attack while they hunted? Sorry.
Luke was the one who followed Carver's group to save Clem, Kenny, and everybody else.
Ok thanks. I think that Luke has more balls than Ben though. Ben would probably run and never come back from them. Luke feels like a new Lee, to me it seems.
I think Luke's character might be too early to judge, but right now, he seems like someone who's willing to put his life on the line to save someone else. Might I refer to how he protected Clem by pushing her down when Nick shot Matthew? Or how he spent probably days tailing Carver's truck to Howe's.
Exactly right. Except maybe Luke's more of a brotherly figure.
I'm on your side. When I was watching pewdiepie play season 2, Luke seemed very caring towards clem. During the progress of the game, I shipped them both, not like that at all, but like how Clementine was with Lee and wanted them to team up. I am very sure Luke would put his life on the line for clem

I'm going to copy and paste what I've said in other threads in response to some of the first few points.
I'm pretty sure anybody would freak out if they were about to lead someone with a potential walker bite back to a community filled with people. And, um, no. He was the only one advocating for her.
I'm not saying he handled it in the best way, but Kenny sort of instigated the argument. They obviously didn't meet each other under the best circumstances and Kenny mocks them when they ask a simple question about Wellington. Luke picks up on the fact that Kenny doesn't like him or Nick, so of course he's going to be defensive.
It was actually fairly smart to have a man on the outside. The only thing Luke would accomplish by busting into the ski lodge would be getting himself captured as well. There's no way he could have overtaken multiple men with their own weapons. Luke didn't just give up on them and consider them a lost cause. He went days without food and rest so he could break himself into where they were being held and help them all escape. That's him helping when they needed him.
Luke didn't want to take the chance that Walter could blow up and start shooting them. He wanted to protect his best friend. When Clementine is confronted by Walter about it, you can see that Walter does struggle with it. He grips the knife tightly and starts smoking so that he can remain as calm as he can. If you don't tell him that Nick is a good guy, he lets the walkers eat him. And hey, Walter lies about that incident too afterwards. So in a way, Luke is correct when he says that it's risky telling Walter.
Actually, no. He wanted to stay behind an extra night so that Kenny had a chance to heal up, Sarita could get ahold of herself, and he could eat and rest. The others, however, were adamant on leaving as soon as possible. All Luke was saying was, "If you guys really want to leave, then you would have to leave Kenny behind too. He's in no shape to follow us." He says it himself when Clementine refuses to leave him behind that nobody, including him, wants to go without him.
There's no context whatsoever as to what's going on beforehand. Maybe he was sent out to get supplies just before the walkers hit. Maybe he returns five seconds after that line. Who knows. Telltale have good writers -- they would not just keep sending him away when he's the deuteragonist.
Oh here we go, another "insert character's name" is the new Ben thread. But no I have to disagree with you, Luke is not the "new Ben". He dropped Clementine because he saved her from those walkers (already more useful than Ben), and saw she had a bite on her arm, so he did what any person would do if they thought they were holding someone that was bit. He didn't lock Clem in the shed, he was against it, but got outvoted by everyone, and if you listen in on their conversation in the cabin, he argues to help her. I feel like Kenny was the one that was being more of a "dick" at the dinner table, Nick and Luke just asked a simple question about Wellington, and Kenny gets mad at them which results in them arguing. He only wanted to lie to Walter to protect Nick, which is his childhood friend for over 20 years, so if he has enough loyalty to his best friend that he would lie to protect him, I don't think that makes him untrustworthy. We don't know what exactly happened at the lodge, but his idea was better than Kenny's which got Walter and determinately Alvin killed, so unlike Kenny he didn't screw up there. Plus I doubt there was anything he could've done that would've been able to stop Carver. He also followed the group for days without food or sleep to help them, when he could've easily just abandoned them, soooo untrustworthy there, and I doubt Ben would even be able to do that. And he didn't want to leave Kenny or anyone behind, he was playing devil's advocate to argue in having them stay and rest up before leaving, which was the smarter thing to do since they didn't know Kenny would just get up and be ready to go. And the previews are never the most accurate, but by the sounds of it, Kenny sounds more like he wants Luke to hurry up rather than "Where is he? We don't know!" and even then we don't know the context behind it, so it doesn't mean he bailed on the group. He could've just been separated from them in the herd. None of these are even close to being what Ben would do, and they're not the same characters, so why are you even comparing them? Nothing you said even points to the idea that Luke will screw up in future episodes, you're basically just grasping at straws here.
But to answer your question, it's too early to tell where his character arc is going to go since we don't even know where the story is going to go after the events of episode 3. He and Clem seem to have a brother-sister dynamic though, so I'm hoping they flesh that out more.
people above me already answered the questions so I give you 3 reasons why Luke and Ben are very different
1) Luke saved Clem with Pete in the woods, Ben would not as he is afraid of getting eaten.
2) Luke volunteers to clear a bridge for his group in episode 2, Something Ben would never do with a eleven year old.
3) Ben abandoned Clem in Season 1 episode 4 because he was afraid of being eaten while Luke did not abandon his group and followed Carver back to his camp.
This is so true.100% supporting this.
In addition to everyone's post opposing this view, let's not forget that Carver's truck took a whole night to travel to their camp, and Luke followed them all the way there, ON FOOT. How the hell is he a Ben?
Leave Ben the hell alone, don't make me get srs man, i'l post some serious gifs . Gifs that will make a statement, start a revolution. Make a change in society, a change that will blow the veil off and show you what is really going on. Sentiments aside, Ben is the greatest character in TWD. He will always be remembered as a champion of the people. His resolve is a inspiration to us all, and we should count our blessings we got to know such a inspiring individual even if it was for only a short time. Ben is gone, but will never be FORGOTTEN.
Now, I would say something about all the points brought up here but I just wanted to mention one: How was Luke a dick to Kenny at the dinner table? Kenny was the one who got all pissy because he and Nick were doubting his plan. O.o
