How did they survive the last few winters....?
After the time skip when you see Clementine and Christa at the campfire, they talk about the cold and winter and not being able to survive it. But one thing is that it's been 2 years during the time skip so they had been through like 2 winters, so how did they survive those ones if they say cannot survive this upcoming one?

I think they where further south where the winters where slightly warmer.
Deus Ex Machina! The same way Kenny magically appeared in the ski resort.
They were in Georgia... where seeing snow is like seeing a unicorn.
They're moving north, to where the weather is brutal in the winter. The United States is a big country and has a wide range of climates, so being able to survive weather in the deep south and being able to survive winter up near Canada are two different things...
Doesn't rain in Georgia? People don't get sick in Georgia? Doesn't get cold in Georgia? Deus Ex Machina. You telling me Clementine and Christa survived on their own for 16 months... Ok. You can believe what you want, and i will do the same.
Well, the first winter took place while Clem, Christa, and Omid were still together and while Christa was getting more and more pregnant, so they probably holed up somewhere and avoided whatever cold hit Georgia. The second winter, it was only Christa and Clem. They might have stayed down south where it doesn't get too cold (since they probably hadn't heard of Wellington yet - it seems like they were only starting to get there in episode 1). But as they move north towards Canada, it will get worse.
Determination.
All we know is that they survived therefore = deus ex machina.
Everything else is speculation.
Sure it rains, gets cold, has sickness... that's not the issue here.
It's not near impossible to survive winter without good shelter and resources in Georgia.
IT IS near impossible up near Wellington. Sit in 50-60 degree F rain and then 10 degree F snow and tell me which you'd prefer.
No comment on whether they'd survive that long, not really discussing that. I just don't think it would be the weather that would kill them.
Well, unless you're expecting someone from Telltale to explain exactly what happened over the 16 months (DLC pls), I think it will only be speculation you'll get.
Therefore Deus ex Machina.
Yep... I'm sooo going to hell...
You are.
But I laughed, so I'll be in line right behind you.
Let's just say they got lucky.Really lucky!
