Most ironic moment in The Walking Dead Game?

While Carver is at Kenny's mercy he says

"Go ahead, let the sheep out of the pen, we'll see how long that lasts"

Well.. Carlos died
Sarita is bitten
Sarah might go crazy

It didn't last very long, did it?

  • Another one;

    Carly will remember that

Then she gets shot LITERALLY moments after

  • In 400 days when Justin, Vince, and Danny say something about needing to get out before more walkers show up. The second after they say that, a whole group of them come in the prison bus.

Also in episode 1 of season 1 when Kenny says the motel has light, the power goes out seconds after he said that.

    Episode 105:

    "Clementine wouldn't hurt a fly"
    [Smack]

  • The most ironic moment for me is during happier times, when Lee is asking about the broken flashlight with Clem. Clem mentions that Duck is always blaming her for stuff, like putting a bug on his pillow. Lee asks if she did that... the sheepish grin on her face when she admitted 'yes' has always stuck with me.

  • S1E1 Starts with Lee in handcuffs.. S1E5 ends with Lee in handcuffs.

  • When Kenny got knocked out while heading to Howe's Hardware. It was pretty funny.

Mainly because I said to myself "Kenny sit down, your plan is going to come back and hit you right in the face"

    seconds later

    [thud]

  • For some reason I read that in an Asian accent

Episode 105: "Clementine wouldn't hurt a fly" [Smack]

  • Different from being the most ironic moment, but to address your original quote, "let the sheep out of the pen," meaning let the people who are meant to be led to their own devices. I don't think Carlos death or Sarita's bit are examples of that - it's when (if) the group falls into complete chaos, disarray, and disorder, when nobody is able to agree on decisions or when they do agree by splitting the baby.

  • "You wanna throw away the life... I'm tryin' to build for us all..."
And then Carlos did precisely that.

  • I don't know the exact quote, but in episode 102 Larry mentions how he plans to outlive Lee and that he's gonna be around for a long time. Then, he dies at the end of the episode.

  • I agree. Carver is criticizing the group's ability to form plans and stay united, not whether they can survive a herd of walkers unharmed. If the group starts to turn on one another, then his prediction would come true.

As for the most ironic moment... Mark mentioning at the beginning of 102 that he would have been food if not for Lee's group is pretty ironic, in a realy twisted way.

  • When Mark says he would've been food if he hadn't gone with Lee's group. Then a couple of hours later there eating his legs for dinner.

  • And Mark also says he'd hate to be stuck in a room with that guy [Larry].

But that's more foreshadowing, isn't it?

  • Larry saying I got charm coming out of my ass. May not be exact quote but close.

You can also ask Duck if he found anything and he says that he found some bugs under the stairs but "Don't tell Clementine"

In the meat locker Larry tells Lee "I will be here long after you're gone" and then a few minutes later he has a heart attack.

  • To be fair, Carver did put him in that predicament.

Christa gets all pissed off and nags Lee about bringing an 8 year along to check out an abandoned building when they first met

And then she lets that same 8 year old go into another abandoned building all by herself and her entire family dies because of it

"I hope you know what you're doing with her"- said Christa once upon a time.

[?] Lee in heaven is not impressed

  • Larry is still there in the meat locker though, it ain't irony.

    1. S1E3
Chuck: "If something were to happen to you-"
      Lee: "It won't"
      S1E5 ;_;

    2. This is determinant but S2E3 if Clem gets hit by Carver and you tell Sarah to grow up when her dad's being taken away she lashes out on you telling you "she's older and besides you're the one that got hit." 10 min later Sarah got hit and starts sobbing uncontrollably.

  • In the beginning of S2 E3 when Carver says that everyones parents are dead and that Clementine is nothing special, Sarah says "My dad's alive'

But at the end of the episode... yeah.

  • Hot damn so many clever well written foreshadowing in the games huh?

  • Kenny "I was hoping you'd see something I missed. I swear, my old eyes are getting more and more useless..."

  • I think Mark says "I'll always have your back" to Lee and he proves this in the St John's house when Brenda is going up the stairs and he bites her when he's zombified.

  • I don't think that's so much ironic as it is Mark's broness being so powerful that death can't stop it.

  • I liked the fact that in the "Next time on the walking dead" for episode 2 of season 2 (as in, at the end of season 1), you can clearly see Matthew standing with Walt when they confront you at the chateau... which we now know is an impossible scenario.

I know this was because the episode wasn't done yet, but still xD

Then he's at your mercy when it comes to preventing him from turning (if he ever was)
"AND if you TURN, I'll be the one to bring the axe to your skull.."
Well, it was him instead and it may have not been an axe but a salt lick was good enough to me.

If it was me, as soon as his ass hit the ground, I would have grabbed a salt lick and said "It's for the best"

"You just kept him from turning, it's okay Lee"..............

"Maaan......got all this shit on my good shirt and shi------wait he was dying??"

These are more like foreshadowing, but what the hell:

Reggie (to Rebecca): Your family is safer here.

    Alvin dies in Carver's office.

Also in Episode 3, when Clem is first exploring the yard, you can tell Kenny that you didn't see anything.

Kenny: Well, out with it - did you see anything?

    Clementine: Not really.

Kenny: Dammit, I was hoping you'd catch something these old eyes missed. They're getting more and more useless.

Kenny proceeds to lose an eye later on.

  • Woah, was that really during the same scene? Man, that's even more ironic!

Carver: That's funny, coming from you.

And we all know how it ended it up: P
