  • They can always upgrade and next "genify" their next games but I think the style of graphics is signature to their company... But man I always do wonder what Lee and Clem would look like with proper graphics.

  • I don't really care about that, but if they really wanted to upgrade their graphics, they'd need more than just 2 months to do it. They would either release the game all at once or live with this thing of 3 to 4 months to release the episodes.

  • No I like the comic style graphics. It makes it stand out from other games too.

  • that would interfere with the artistic integrity of the game

  • If it were realistic it would look like Jurassic Park, and that looked awful.

  • No. My computer can barely play it as it is...

Also, as to real, crisp, realistic graphics, no way Telltale would have the budget.

Nah, the comic style is more original.

  • The comic style is very distinct and I like it more than any souped up graphics can do. Some games really benefit from the graphics they have (like Journey for example) but this game is more about delivery a story so I don't see the need to for anything visually stunning. So yeah, I think graphics are pretty important for visual/artistic games.

  • No, the game is really grapich and shows alot of child violence. Games that looks more realistic gets tons of flame for this. The only reason people are not complaining about the extreme amounts of violence towards children compared to other games is that it has a cartoony and soft art-style. If you look at realistic games there are nearly no children, and if there are children you can't hurt them. If you have played Modern Warfare 3 they showed a kid get blown up and that caused controversy.

  • How about you fuck off? Because next generation console fanboys are so greedy everything needs to be in HD.

  • Nah. These graphics are good for some people who have low end pc's

  • I'm fine with the graphics. Part of what makes this game unique is that it has a comic book style.

  • How about no? I think that this kind of graphic is way better than any other and they shouldn't change it...

  • No offense but most of the people are too obsessed about graphics in video games in my opinion. I would rather prefer if the writer of the Starved for Help could write scenario for Season 2.

  • Some mo-cap, advanced phisics and effects would be nice

But I don't see any need to change the texture style to a photorealistic one

  • How about NO.

  • I dont realy care about them

  • No, I like the comic art style. The characters would just look weird in realistic graphics now that we've playing for so long with them in comic form.

  • I think your thumbs up/down ratio has offered you a pretty good answer.

The cartoony style is very interesting. the visual of TWAU, for example. is simply amazing!

  • What's wrong with the graphics? I like them just the way they are.

  • Be more specific, what would you change?

  • Can't say I would. I love the artistic retro-comic approach they take to this game. It's original and beautiful and compliments the dark atmosphere perfectly.

  • I don't believe it would work at all for the game, and the art style is one of the reasons I fell in love with the game in the first place. If I have the time, I might model more realistic busts of Lee and Clem for practice, but no promises.

  • Holy shit, that's a lot of dislikes.

  • Not sure if trolling or actually serious. >_>

Realistic graphics tend to age terribly. Look at some "realistic" games released 10 years ago compared to now and you'll see what I mean. Lighting, textures, lower polygons. The cartoony ones tend to age far better because you're not as quick to pick up on flaws. Not every game needs to be realistic to be appealing, either. There are 8 and 16-bit games people still play and enjoy. Graphics aren't everything. Besides, the graphics in TWD are meant to resemble the comics to tell people the two are related. Make them realistic and people would confuse it with the TV show ... although plenty already do. There's also The Walking Dead Survival Instincts that stars Daryl and Merle Dixon. That game did horribly and had realistic graphics. Telltale's TWD doesn't need to be associated with that. And now that we're almost done with season 2, what's the point in changing the graphics now? It'd only serve to confuse people.

    So no.

  • 38 dislikes? Holy hell! The guy was just speaking his mind, Whether you agree with him or not!

  • nah man the graphics are fine, i like how the game kinda looks like a comic book

  • and 38ppl disagreed, its not like the persons going to get a hammer to the toe the number of disliked they get.

  • i wouldnt enjoy the game as much as i do if it had realistic graphics.

  • Goes against the respect of others' views. I've never disliked anyone unless he/she was a troll and they don't listen to me. So, It gives the impression that this guys is a troll, While he's not. Eventhough I disagree with him, He has a point. But then, To each their own. People need to understand and realize that.

  • I'm pretty sure realistic graphics would tone the game down. The characters would definitely not look or feel the same as they do now. From a graphic perspective if you really wanted to see the game in a real life manner, the characters would look very different from what they do now. I also believe the cartoony look of the game makes Clementine cuter. Can't imagine a reality concept Clementine. Of course that's just one character. Anyway nah the comic style works out great for this.

Pretty sure we've all seen this picture floating around the forums but that is sort of what clementine would look like with reality concept art. I personally dislike :O

  • Yeah sure, make it like Heavy Rain which will be incredibly expensive and more time consuming! The best part is that it will look dated in a week if you're lucky.

  • What are you disagreeing on? I didn't even express my opinion... i was just asking a question geez

  • Shove that comment up your ass. It was just a question do you really think I'd like the game if it was better quality?

  • yeah but twd has shit graphics but i like the kinda horrible shit comic looking graphics so no

  • The game is intentionally looking like the comics, it's a unique kind if style, just like Minecraft, the graphics don't matter in those games.

  • As others have already said, I like the graphics as they are. More than that, really preferred the way they were in Season One.
Also, it's right what someone has stated before. Not everyone can afford top of the range PCs, so it's good that telltale have thought of this. With money being tight as it is, many people don't have rich parents that can buy them high spec gaming PCs.
I had to build mine from scratch, as i'm sure loads have on here.

  • My dear LAWD THE DISLIKES XDDDDFDDDDDDDDFDDD
