Do you think this could happen?
Say Sarita dies in episode 4.
which I hope that doesn't happen, but with how badly she injured, hard to tell.
Anyway, do you think Kenny and Bonnie may perhaps get together?
The reason I say this is because of the following traits I see they have in common.
1, Both Kenny and Bonnie are tough, resilient people.
They've been through a lot of garbage, and yet have still managed to survive.
2, They both care deeply for Clementine.
In episode 3, Bonnie seemed almost as protective of her as Kenny was.
Not to mention the fact that she probably saved Kenny from being beaten to death.
3, They both have a strong sense of optimism.
Kenny was loaded with it in season 1!
And you could see that trait in Bonnie in 400 days.
An optimistic outlook, not only helps people get through difficult times, but can also draw people together.
So what do you think?
Granted there's quite an age gap, probably around 20 years or so.
However, that did not stop Leland from taking a shine to Bonnie.
I'm not a romantic or anything like that.
I was merely just noticing some similarities, and figured, "What the hell?"
Plus, Bonnie seems like a person who's tough enough to survive in this apocalyptic world.
Comments
Eye can't see it happening.
Bonnie seems to have a crush on Luke. Plus I don't think Telltale can do a 20 year gap.
Highly unlikely. One of the main reasons is that Bonnie might have feelings for Luke, even though Luke doesn't feel the same.
I'm usually against romance in this game, but you asked us so nicely...I couldn't find it in my hearth to bash this idea:).
I highly doubt Kenny and Bonnie are going to be a thing. Besides judging from her dialogue, Bonnie seems to be interested in Luke.
Wait. I must have missed the part where Bonnie cares deeply for Clem. The most I saw was regret for having lied to her. I mean, she only just met the kid. How can you say she cares deeply for her? Not to say she is apathetic or anything, but she in no way demonstrates any kind of relationship as deep as Kenny's (which, to me, stems more from him trying to fill the void left by Katjaa and Duck rather than any deep connection to Clem herself. How often did Kenny interact with Clem in season 1? Not much.).
As someone else already pointed out, Kenny just met Bonnie, and he doesn't fully trust her. She willingly worked for his latest enemy, so that's gonna put a damper on things right from the start.
For any kind of close relationship to form between Kenny and Bonnie, I think a lot of time is needed. The way things are going, I don't think Kenny is long for this world. If they did somehow start caring for one another like Kenny and Sarita, I suspect it would be highly forced and out of the blue.
Shes probably into Luke with how butthurt she was that he doesn't talk about her and how much she wants him to be okay
oops double post
Bonnie's a girl?
WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?!
But if she gets with Kenny, then she'll die. I like Bonnie. I don't want that to happen. Everyone Kenny loves ends up dead. He's Forever Alone.
Except for the main character who's been around since the first scene of season 1.
What's with the downvotes? Telltale can't do a 20 year gap unless Kirkman has done it.
good theory
fooorevvver aaalooone!!
ahaha
wat?
No, you're thinking of a twenty year skip. OP is saying a twenty year gap in age. But I agree with you though, pretty sure Bonnie and Luke will be more of a thing.
Oh, my mistake. Thanks for clarifying
I don't see Bonnie with anyone really...her character kind of annoys me. I wouldn't want her with Kenny and especially not Luke. I don't think Kenny would want to move on so quickly if Sarita dies, but I have no clue if this could happen. It's a good theory, but I'm not exactly sure about it. I always thought Bonnie was supposed to be older than she is since she looked so much older in 400 days.
What's wrong with Bonnie being with Luke? I think they would make a good pair. Better than Cluke at least.
It seems that she has a crush on Luke. Or deeply care about him, I don't know.
I cannot say that she deeply care about Clementine, she was just being nice at first, it seems that she cares too, but not what I can call "deeply".
And Kenny ain't a playa'
About Bonnie caring for Clem:
If Carver slaps Clem at the beggining of S2E3, she helps her to get up and check her face to see if she is ok. An attitude quite surprising coming from a Carver subordinate.
She picked the jacket for Clem at the lodge so she could give it to her later. Considering she was already thinking about Clem at this point indicates how Bonnie quickly attached to Clem, barely knowing her.
She is very nice and kind when alone with Clem, while the others of Carver´s goons are bossy and somewhat power abusive with her(Troy).
After Reggie´s death, If you dont talk to Bonnie about it, she will assume that you are having a hard time with the jobs and tell she wiil find something easier for Clem to do.
During the Carver beating Kenny scene, if you try to help Kenny and get smacked by Troy, after Carver goes away she will appear taking care of Clem as she speaks about helping them leaving.
So i think these are enough reasons to see how deep Bonnie got attached to Clem despite the short time since they met. It is kinda suspicious since she tricked the group first and acts so different compared to other Carver´s subordinates, but in the end she genuinely likes Clementine.
About her relationship with Kenny, i really don´t see they getting along, Kenny is very distrusful to others, especially since he saw her lying when Bonnie was scouting the lodge, and he is very unforgiving too, seeing how heated was his relationship with Ben.
Well, we know Bonnie isn't an asshole, seeing as she was playable in 400 Days. Taking care of someone after getting an injury is not indicative of care, especially if you feel guilty for wronging them somehow. Every nice thing Bonnie did for Clem seems motivated by guilt far more than caring deeply for her. Again, not saying Bonnie would not do any of the kind things she does if she didn't lie to Clem, but it does not indicate anything out of the ordinary.
Also, bear in mind that Clem can treat Bonnie like crap; blame her for everything, blatantly tell her "I don't trust you", spit on her gift right in front of her, etc, and Bonnie will still do all of those things.
Sure, Bonnie may recognize that Clem has a strong character, and respect her for it, but such a deep relationship takes time. Not 2-3 days.
Well thanks.
I'm not much for romance myself.
Like I said, I just noticed some similar characteristics the two have in common.
And perhaps it may end up bringing them together eventually.
And in 400 days, she can be shown to have a thing for Leland, as is shown by the dialogue choices after she whacks Dee.
So, she at least has the potential to have a thing for older men.
Plus, every other kind of question it seems has been asked.
And I was trying to think of something brand new.
The relationship between Matthew and Walter was 20 years. Im not trying to say anything, I thought that I should just mention.
"You little devil!"
Nah.
I'm pretty sure Bonnie takes a love interest in Luke, which is kinda alright... GODDAMNIT WHY AM I NOT IN THE GAME?!
Ahem.
I doubt it'll ever happen.
I get what this person means. Her character doesn't really seem like the character to be with someone, but I do see her as a hopeless romantic.
You can clearly tell she takes a love interest in Luke, (Personally, I'm jealous that she even breathes the same air in a fictional universe with Luke) but I see it as "I like him, but he doesn't know, and when he does know, he'll friend zone the shit out of me" type of interest.
ya feel mi?
I don't think Bonnie and Kenny fit together. Bonnie and Luke would be cool though.
If it was mostly about guilt she would treat anyone from the group like she treats Clementine. Of course we didn´t have the chance to really see it since Bonnie pretty much only interacted with Clementine, but why she picked the jacket especifically for her? Why she was the only one checking on Clementine when Kenny was beaten? It is undeniable that Bonnie has a special attention for Clementine, and it is obvious that takes time to develop a deep bond, but we already see the high potential to happen between them.
Like you said; we don't see her interact with the others, so we can't say that this treatment is special.
Why did she give the jacket to Clem? Because it fits an 11 year old girl, and no one else in the group, and she could use a jacket for the coming winter, perhaps? Also, we have no idea if she gave anything to any other group members.
I have no idea why she was checking on the little girl who got a single smack in the face when another guy just had half his face beaten in. That was a bad call on her part, unless you figure that there were already people helping Kenny. One more would just get in the way.
Of course Bonnie has special attention to give Clem. She's the protagonist. The game has to treat her like the most important character because she is. I maintain that none of this shows a deep relationship. Is Bonnie on good terms with Clem? Sure, but that's not the same thing as having a deep relationship, which she does not have. They have "known" each other for a few days by interacting for like five minutes at a time. If Telltale somehow intends for Bonnie to develop a relationship like the one the OP is talking about, then they need to take a look at season 1 again to see how real character development and connections are done. Going by what we have seen in season 2, there's little reason to care about anyone (excepting Clem), let alone someone who actively and knowingly helped place our protagonist in a shitty situation.
I'll admit to a bit (read: a whole lot) of bias here. I have in my head the way I want this season to play out, so I tend to look unfavorably on things that would hint against it. Bonnie forming a relationship with Clem is not a part of that, so... Yeah. I just don't want it to happen, but with how the character development has been going thus far, I can't really say I'd be surprised if I end up incorrect.
You've got a point.
Age in many ways is just a number.
Though granted it is a number that, the higher it gets, the greater effect it has on the body.
It's a shame people grow old.
It is truly sad to see people who once vibrant and youthful, to see them on canes, in wheelchairs, or in nursing homes.
And what's scary to realize, that elderly man or lady you see in the nursing home, or in that wheelchair, might one day be you!
We all enjoy having our freedom, even simply just getting up and going for a stroll is not something to take for granted.
Cause one day, you may not be able to do that.
Sorry about the late post. About the last paragraph, you should´ve just said it from the jump and the discussion would have ended there: You just don´t like Bonnie, or at least her relationship with Clementine, so you are in denial making excuses to deny the potential bond between them. Well, i particularly like her, even since the end of S2E2, i realized she seemed uncomfortable and i didn´t judge her yet, and i did right, so i have nothing against it.
