  • No, this is baaaad. TWAU master race will end... we need a Season Two. I wish they'd just cancel Borderlands and GoT and do Season 3 of TWD and Season 2 of TWAU.

  • Explain to me why I'm unpoular at the moment.

  • I agree. The hate for Borderlands or Game Of Thrones is uncalled for in my opinion. I'm actually very excited for both of them, especially GoT.

  • I'm starting to think it is just hate now, all of the comments have at least one downvote. It would be good to know the specific thing wrong is.

  • I guess we have to appreciate that developers focus on all of their games and not just ones slightly more popular than others. I'm buying their games in the long run.

  • I'm really looking forward to seeing how Telltale do Borderlands, the concept with two protagonists narrating the events sounds interesting. Plus, Telltale haven't made a funny game ever since they began making games with a serious tone such as TWD. So it'll kind of be a return to their former more quirkier selves.

C'mon man don't do that - TWAU got so much hate before the first episode came out and now look at how amazing it is! Believe me, I am one of the people praying for a S2 and/or DLC of TWAU, and I think because everyone is making so much noise for a sequel, we can expect a DLC while TFTB is coming out. But at the same time don't hate on their new games because I am sure they will be as equally amazing if not better.

  • That's your personal opinion. I just hate it when people always hate on other people's games. Like all of us, pray for a S2 of TWAU, pray for a S3 of TWD, enjoy GoT , but don't hate on a game other people will enjoy.

  • Having just recently finished the first season of Sam & Max, I can say that Telltale left me with no doubt regarding their ability to make a fun game. And like you said, Borderlands can be the game to achieve just that.

And GoT will be their biggest game(from a story point of view) yet. So I guess we will have some interesting things in store for us this coming months.

  • the thing about story heavy games is that they eventually come to an end, no worries though cause ill play through the whole series probably two more times making different choices. i seriously doubt were going to see a season3, telltale has other stories to tell.

  • cod patrol, you must have a very odd sense of humour if borderlands isn't to your tastes.

and to say the game play is like cod says a few things about you.

cod is spray and pray glitch fest that is more luck than skill. it is also a bog standard fps game with a lot of fancy stuff to look at but for singleplayer it's a cliche ridden mess of propaganda.

borderlands has an rpg element and lots of guns and play styles, not mention a better story line.

borderlands also has more than one character with different skills and options unilke cod that mostly is the same thing with a different face... but it's linear and you stuck doing set things,

so beyond them both being fps...

  • Prior to when you played Walking Dead, had you played (or been familiar with) Telltale's older puzzle/adventure games back then?

If you played Sam and Max after Walking Dead, I'm curious as to how you thought the games were compared to Telltale's newer titles which are more casual. I ask this because I always see Telltale mentioning that the simplicity of their new gameplay is in part to make the game accessible to a mainstream audience, and I want to know how a new Telltale fan would respond to an older era Telltale Game.

(I'm just a volunteer mod asking this on my own accord)

  • Back when I played Walking Dead I also heard about Telltale's older games, Sam & Max in particular. Still, the only game that I ended up getting that time was Jurassic Park, and it didn't sit very well with me. Not saying that the game was bad, but I can see why some of Telltale's older fans hated it since it wasn't traditional a point and click adventure game like Sam & Max and Tales of Monkey Island. As for me, I expected something similar like TWD, which was a mistake from the start.

Recently I have decided to give Sam & Max a try, and I wasn't disappointed in the slightest! I was also quite surprised at the refreshment I felt playing a ridiculous(in a good way) and fun storyline full of jokes and adventures, instead of the apocalyptic setting of TWD or the set of classic noir elements of TWAU. And the first thing I noticed about S&M is that in addition to being very, very silly, its gameplay is more of a conventional point-and-click adventure, as opposed to The Walking Dead's interactive movie-style of gameplay(S2 and TWAU), and I can understand the criticism behind it.

While I also understand their new approach and appeal to a mainstream audience, more gameplay is definitely needed. All we can hope is that the feedback the fans have given them will be taken into account in future episodes and series.
