The Walking Dead and Careers
Hello,
I know there was a member who had written a paper on the success of The Walking Dead as a franchise on multiple media, with hopes of going into gaming professionally, and it made me want to ask the question, what field do you all hope to go into? I'm not sure what percent of the forums is college-age, post-college, or high school, and I know especially at our age it can change a lot, but I was just curious as to where people are trying to head.
Edit: I'll say, I'm hoping to go into film. Either criticism, which I'm nervious about a stable career, or international sales (basically selling rights to show films in theatres or dvd, vod, and the such)

Go for it! not only does your entire family call on you for help when something breaks, but basically everyone assumes you are a neck-bearded mountain dew chugging nerd. But honestly, there are very few things I like better than working with technology.
I'm a paleontologist. I've always had an interest for dinosaur bones and such. I work in the field, but currently on a break.

Received my bachelor's degree in radio broadcasting. Am currently an on-air Radio DJ at a rock station in Southwest Missouri. Having my own afternoon show was always my dream so it's cool to be able to tackle it in my mid 20's.
Over the last year I have developed a knack for writing stories and I would seriously love to become a novelist. I have actually won a prize with a school project, so I'm well on my way! : D

I'm good at mathematic, but I don't know if I'm good enough for this... I'm always the one in class that knows how to fix a lot of problems in the computer and all that stuff (and yes, nobody calls me nerd and that things x)) but still there are a lot of things that idk...
edit: and I'm now in 9º grade , so there's a lot of stuff I still haven't learned.
Oh, don't worry. If you strive to go after whatever you are after, you'll get there. And a computer can be very complicated, but maybe you'll get it. I'm out of college with my bachelor.

Well, i play videgames (nintendo) since i was 3 years old, that's how i grew and that's the reason i speak english, so i've always wanted to work for them it was my dream but it was never gonna happen so i decided to study ecology, im graduating next december.
I am studying veterinerian . I wanna be a cardiologist or just surgeon .But i don't want to leave technology and gaming till i die , like all of you guys
Gaming is a lifestyle, a part of us, it's a shame some people tend to critize us gamers, to me playing a game is like reading a book but thousand times better.

Right now I'm kinda in between University and my first "real" job. Still have to find that job

I'm still not completely sure...which isn't good, considering I'm already more than halfway through college. I'm majoring in International Politics (Global Security track), which is half poli sci and half criminal justice. I still have no clue what I'm going to do out of college. Working in foreign service or as a civilian contractor would be cool, but those opportunities aren't exactly popping up everywhere.
I've been told my writing is really good. Maybe I could do something with that. Fuck, I dunno. It seems kinda late to change tack though, especially when I'm paying $15,000 a semester for tuition an all that jazz.

I'd love to get into gaming/animation. Sole purpose for animating characters for games, movies, shows, etc. Voice acting would be a close second.
