The choices in Season 2 [Theory]
So, I saw some people complaining that the choices in S2 do not affect the character compared to S1. It's true that in the first season, the choices affected people around us (Kenny and his family, Clem, stranger...) and so far, in S2 the choices don't have a great impact (kill sam, help Sarah, watching Carver die, etc...). And this is why I began to think about that:
What if the choice we make in S2 do not affect people around us but Clementine state of mind?
Imagine that at the end of this season, ALL the choices you made will show your percentage of humanity or survival and this percentage will be the final one. Depending on which side you are, Clem's attitude will change. If you are a survivalist for example she will be colder and more ruthless. And maybe Clem will have to do a choice but you won't be controlling her, depending on the percentage, her choice will be different. In my opinion it would be cool to have a choice we can't control. And if some of us don't like what their Clem did they will have to blame theirselves because it's the choices they made that leaded to Clem's choice; because the story was tailored by their choices.
What do you think?

Why dislike I really like your theory.
Kind of like if you remain silent when telling Clem to either shoot or leave Lee. I definitely like this idea!
The forum is more active now so I'm going to bump this thread and get some more people's I'm put (hopefully).
Anyone?
I really like this theory. The choice of watching Carver die or not should be really important in this, as people spite against the man who has been hyped up so much should be shown for what it is: spite. Not a "survival necessity".
I personally feel that my Clem is turning more into a survivalist than humanitarian. After hearing what Carver said about me being the one doing all the work, it hit that ultimate nail on the head for me. "I can't be Lee's little girl forever, I have to do what's best for me in this messed up world."
I love this theory by the way, I'd love for that to happen.
I will forgive the telltale writers for season 2's lack of choices if this theory comes true.
That is a damn good theory.
we need to SPREAD THIS THEORY
You could be on to something.
Yes!! I also feel like people will view Clementine differently depending on if she stayed or not.
what it comes in season3 we don't play as clem but as a young boy that meets clem and based on how we played season 2 will be clem's state of her mind like if she is merciful or merciless
Why Aren't We Funding this Theory
How do you "bump" a thread?

Stares with much curiosity
Thank you to all of you for backing up my theory![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I'll also add that watching Carver die or not would have a big impact on the percentage.
You bump a thread just by adding a comment![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
OH. MY. GAWD.
Very true. Maybe this'll mean that there will be a humanity chart, similar to the character relationship chart that S1 had?
It does seem to be that way just by looking at the major choices throughout this season.
As the season's progressed, these types of decisions have become a lot more prominent, so this could very well be true.
I really like this theory, it made me realize that my Clementine has been quit the humanitarian. I didn't watch Carver die, as it simply felt wrong. It made me feel like this could be a defining point in Clementine's personality.
This is a great theory, I really hope it does turn out that way. I, for one, watched Carver die. I believe it'll impact the groups views of Clementine and whether or not they could "trust her" due to her mercy, or lack there of, but so far I've continued to be the "peacemaker" in the group. When I first played the game I didn't help Sarah with her work... which resulted in Reggie's death; the second time I helped Sarah with her work and he still wound up dead. So I will agree I haven't seen any significant changes in character behavior due to my choices, but if it does turn out that way in the end that would be a major plus in my book with this game.
I completely rejected Carver and I still do. Clem Wil always be the one good thing left![:p :p](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)
This is what I'm doing right now so I hope this works because this NEEDS to happen at the end of Season 2.
But this bring up the real question: what kind of scenario at the end of the season would suit a non-controllable, player-history-based outcome of a choice?
If your theory it's true (and i am positive its true) , that means we might have a season 3 with a different clementine and people (hencing the pizza and ice cream)
I think your onto something
, if they do this then it means that if they make a season 3 decisions from past seasons and past dlcs will create a major impact on how the story is tailored from the beginning
You have a point there!
Nah i just think its bad writing. Please don't get me wrong, i love this series but so far i have been very disappointed with many things like lack of gameplay and length of episodes. Many times a character has "remembered that" like Kenny at the dinner table if you don't sit with him. Is he going to refer back to this? Maybe but i doubt it. Also like in episode 3, if Nick dies in ep2, Luke doesn't even mention him once and these 2 were meant to be close! I just feel there have been several bad writing decisions. However, great story so far!
I wanted to add that the OP made a good theory and it is possible but they shouldn't say "our choices will affect what happens around us" or whatever it said
