Snow White/Auntie Greenleaf Theory

I just finished the last episode of TWAU, and watching all of the activity within the community was enough to convince me to join in on the discussion.

I have another theory to throw out there, because something struck me as odd. I heard that there would be a twist ending from this site due to seeing a topic title, so I kept on guard and tried not to do anything permanent (Like ripping The Crooked Man's head off). So I chose to lock him up (although I didn't trust magic, and I didn't trust Auntie Greenleaf). However, once she showed me the supposed Crooked Man in the bird cage, it pretty much revealed that she can change bodies between two people.

When Snow hands you the keys, she called you "Mr. Wolf" and dropped them in your hands without this being explained. I have no idea why she would be mad at me, I brought Crooked Man back in one piece. Plus she's working with BlueBeard? I figured Snow White would want to prove herself that she can run the office. I also know that BlueBeard made things difficult for her just about every step of the way.

Is it possible that Auntie Greenleaf, in the midst of all the chaos, found a way to put The Crooked Man in Snow White's body at the end as a favor to Crooked Man for bringing her tree to her? Her motivation could be as revenge for burning the tree down/ or to keep her tree safe from Snow who was ready to burn it down all willy nilly.

Snow's weird abruptness was never explained, so I'm throwing this out there. Also, I'm really hoping for a Season 2, and a lot of things point toward there being one.

  • There is a comic so no. Not to mention snow acts that way even if you kill him

Personally I think it sums up real life in reality nothing really seemed to change Bluebeard still cuts to the front and everyone else is left standing outside.

  • Yeah, I'm at the disadvantage of not having read the comics.

I guess that does kill the theory involving The Crooked Man. Thanks for responding, because I didn't think of the other outcomes that would make this theory seem impossible. Guess I got so sucked up into my own game.

  • Not likely because this is a prequel to the Fable comics so the Snow White in the comics can't be the crooked man forever and plus at one point or another Bigby's senses would have figured out if it was the real Snow or not.

  • I wasn't sure if this series lead directly into the comics or not. (Not really a comic guy).

    Thanks for answering.

  • I think it's just setting the status quo for the first episode of the Fables comic, where Snow White was a bit more distanced from Bigby. Telltale allowed you to make those characters get kinda close in The Wolf Among Us, but their relationship should be on more formal terms at the end, so they started driving the interplay back in that direction in episode 4. When Snow officially takes over for Crane, she wants to go totally by the book, so I guess she doesn't want the appearance of any impropriety. And as she and Bigby never really got to the point of expressing real affection for each other in TWAU, it's possible for her to back out and maybe convince herself that there was never anything there.

  • Greenleaf understood that the only reason Snow wanted to burn the tree was because it was used to allow Ichabod Crane to fulfill his perversions, and in the trial scene in episode five, it is made pretty clear that Snow considers that tree burning thought a mistake.
She and Greenleaf end on understood terms, and, by the way, Greenleaf is not evil.
Greenleaf also recognizes that The Crooked man brought her the tree so that she could be used as an asset, as a money making machine, as the Crooked Man does with everyone.
"Mr. Wolf" is a formality, as in that moment, Snow was surrounded by half of fabletown in the line.
What I still don't know is why Bluebeard burned Crane's possessions. Intentionally making things difficult? A test? Why is he so evil, despite not being allied with the Crooked Man?
Her abruptness is also because she's pretty much the only figure in Fabletown government, now. She's busy.
They really should hire a one or two more people.
