How a certain bearded man might meet his end in Amid the Ruins
I’ll jump to the point. The writers of Telltale didn’t give Kenny an eyepatch just to give him some badass points. They didn’t even do it to have him give Carver a bloody death and generate another player choice.
They did it because that will be what kills him.
At some point in your lives, you have probably gotten an infected wound of some sort. I’m not talking about “lurker bite” infected, I’m just talking about the area around the wound heats up, turns red, puss, etc. Maybe I’m being presumptuous, but I doubt anyone here has had an eye pummeled out by a walkie talkie, so we only have the info the game has given us.
The beating clearly left a nasty wound on his face. Yes, Carlos treated the wound, and got some of the swelling down. Now, while it’s not a open wound anymore, due to being bandaged, that’s hardly sure fire protection against infection. We don’t know if it was treated with any disinfectant at all.
Basically, Kenny might have a timer on him. And honestly: I think it would be a great death for him. It wouldn’t be that painful, and he would have time to say goodbye to Clem.
Carver gets his revenge from beyond the grave: causing a quiet death to a loud man.
"It feels… peaceful" might be Kenny’s dying words.
I could get behind telltale doing this in Amid the Ruins.

I thought this too, that infection would get to him... But we'll see what happens...
That could be interesting, having Kenny slowly dying from his infection but trying to hold on long enough to get the others to Wellington.
NO! I don't want to go through Lee again. #NeverForgetLee
NOOOOOO ಥ_ಥ
Kenny is not Lee. Kenny will never be Lee. Kenny is Kenny. I like him for that, but Lee wouldn't have done some of the shit Kenny did.
And to be honest, Kenny did a good deal of shit. I think he's a good man, but he has done some very wrong things.
I was thinking Kenny might die of infection, too. Which is sad, because even though I disagreed with the guy quite a few times, I still was on his side most of the time and he has Clem's back.
A certain episode 5 achievement makes me think that someone important to Clem will die slowly... And at this point, she's closest to Kenny and Luke (and Christa if she appears). But we'll see.
What I mean is that I don't want to go through and emotional death like that again.
Okay one: I don't know if you know anything in the medical field, but you don't die from being bludgeoned in the eye and it becoming infected. I think you're a tad too deep in your Walking Dead logic in this theory but that is not a way for the human brain to be affected from physical pain nor biological from the injury. Also if by "infected" you mean from the "Walker Virus" that is also null because that's not how that works either. In this Universe to be "zombified" you either need to be bit and wait for the infection to spread or you need to pass away. Neither of those have occurred so again, it's an invalid theory.
If he dies it will be in episode 5 because the achievements of episode 5 reference a major character death. Read this http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/74245/episode-5-trophy-analysis/p1
There IS the possibility of bleeding out though, but it is extremely unlikely unless the wound opens up again.
Also: Lol downvoted for speaking opinion
Um, clearly you don't know much about "the medical field", because yes, you can die from infections. Millions of people die from untreated infections each year. You get something called sepsis if your infection becomes bad enough. It causes a full-on body inflammation and can result in organ failure.
If Kenny's eye is left untreated, it's very possible for him to get sepsis.
I like this theory a lot--it's a slow, sad ending to a man who's always been a fast-paced fighter. However, I see it occurring more around Episode 5 than Episode 4.
What does this mean, then?
I never said people don't die from infections so i'm not sure what you're getting at... I said from the injury Kenny is afflicted with it's highly unlikely that if he's not already dead from the bludgeoning (also the fact that the wound was loosely treated) it probably won't happen
Either downvoters struck again, Kenny fans found this thread, or we're a group of intolerant jerks. I'm going with the first idea.
DOWNVOTES AWAY. -____-
Dying from an eye infection in the midst of a zombie apocalypse is unbelievably lame. If Telltale intends to put Kenny down for good in the near future, he deserves to go out with a bigger bang than that.
This is what I was talking about. Not some sort of walker infection, but sepsis.
Yes it is not the most action packed death but its realistic and something most players will not expect.
Besides, it has the potential to be extremely emotional.
Its plausible, But If Kenny dies it will be in episode 5.
I agree with you with the infection, I think he will come close, although I disagree with his death, you said yourself Kenny was a loud man and I think he will go down with a bang if anything. It's Kenny guys, let's not kill him off like he's a side character. I think Clem will get separated from the group by choice or by accident, but I think Kenny's gonna stick around.
This is when and how I hope he goes. It'd be a good death. He gets one final conversation with Clem where they spend a brief moment talking about Lee and the good times at the motel, reiterate how much they care about each other (or don't, as the case may or may not be for Clem according to how you play her), say their goodbyes, and then he just fades away.
I doubt Telltale would bring Kenny back to kill him 2 episodes later, but I still feel like there is a good chance Kenny could meet his end in Ep.5. I don't feel like it will be his eye though, because it would be too much like Lee's death - an injury resulting in a slow death over the course of an episode. His death is highly likely this Season, along with Rebecca and Sarah. But his eye? No. It wouldn't be because of that.
Yeah. If Kenny dies, it should not be brutal like some of the other deaths in this series.
I don't want Kenny to die, but this is possible. Is it too soon to say RIP?
If that were to happen, then the "Pizza vs Ice cream" choice in Episode 5 doesn't involve Kenny.
I'm 90% sure that he won't die in Amid The Ruins. Maybe he'll die in No Going Back, but totally not in the nearest episode. Telltale didn't bring him to back to kill him two episodes later. He'll rather have a death in season finale, or even remain alive till the next season. I mean, who knows?
To have any real shock or impact either Luke and Kenny should die this epsiode.
I honestly think if the big ep 5 choice is luke or kenny then its was to obvious and forecoming
Yeah, it may be the same method of death, though. His eye gets infected and by Episode 5 he's at a point where he can no longer go on.
I think he'll die that way too. They didn't have Carver attack his eye for no reason, otherwise he would've just beaten Kenny all over.
If he dies this way he'd be indirectly killed by Carver.
And Lee didn't? I love Lee, he is my favorite character besides a few others, but he can do some messed up stuff. It's entirely up to the player. Lee could be a piece of shit or a nice guy. My Lee was a bit of both.
Or people just don't want Kenny to die.
Based on what you said, Clem could easily die from that wound on her face. I don't know anything about medical stuff, but i think if Clem falls in the dirt and that wound is still open, it'll get infected. Same thing with Sarita, depending on your choices.
I may be wrong, though. I wouldn't be surprised if i am!
Yeah, but telltale isn't going to kill off clementine based off a determinant choice in episode. three.
This thread needs closing NOW........
This is a blasphemy.
Kenny will be fine guys.. I have 3 devs from TTG tied to chairs in my basement as I type this to make sure....
Hes fine move along
That, or the pizza and ice cream was just a joke from the start.
It does seem realistic for him to die that way No more doctor, no access to medicine, and Clem's reaction in the Ep4 preview all point to things not looking good for Kenny. But I don't think he'll die in Episode 4. It will be dragged out to Episode 5 for the most emotional impact.
Of course, this is a video game, and video games don't always follow the "realistic" path. So maybe he won't die from his injuries. We won't know until the last two episodes are released.
If Kenny were to die that way, I think I would be okay with that. I mean, I would rather that he not die at all, but if he were to die, I would want it to be quiet and peaceful. He's already had that big dramatic "death" back in Season 1. And personally, after all the shit he's been through, I want him to get some peace.
Kenny has survived cannibals, a gut shot from a rifle, losing his family, a giant horde of walkers, and having to survive on his own for months while depressed from his wife and child's death. Some dinky ass eye beating ain't gonna kill him.
"but you don't die from being bludgeoned in the eye and it becoming infected."
Thanks! By the way, this is also on tumblr, and I follow you over there. You post some good stuff!
I doubt Job Stauffer even knew what the choices were for Episode 5 at that point. He probably just used "pizza and ice cream" to exaggerate the "sunshine and rainbows" stuff he'd said before. He was saying those things as if he was in denial, not giving hints.
