I'm fairly similar to you in that I've never read the comic's and proably never will.. I found this game while browsing youtube for Walking Dead TV show clips, so I've been here from S1E1. I never even heard of Telltale untill I found Walking Dead. I am a bit of a survivalist and tend to play with that mind frame which leads me to believe that there is no hope for a future without walkers or bad people.. They are going to be constant threats for generations. The only real "hope" one can possibly find is a safe place to live. Somehow it must be dependable against walkers and humans, be able to grow food and/or raise livestock and maybe able to sustain a small group of like-minded people.
I guess it all depends on the individual's definition of hope. Hope that the world will return to normal? Highly doubtful.. Hope to one day be able to live in a degree of safety? Highly possible..
No I'm not.
I started playing the walking dead when it first came out.
Guess that makes me a veteran.
In spite of the fact that I've ne… morever read one of the comic books.
And quite frankly never will.
I've never been a comic book fan.
It's just not me.
Anyway, I got introduced to the walking dead through the videogame by TT.
Then I later started watching the show.
And yes, I believe there is hope.
Even after all the shit that's happened in the game!
It's all in a person's outlook.
And quite frankly, it's for that reason why Kenny is my favorite character in the game.
His tenacity and optimism are admirable, and they're qualities that I can personally relate to.
Thats the only other idea I would have also, lots of space out in the middle of nowhere with fresh water and the deer you speak of sounds spot on, my only concern would be meds really but your gona get that issue anywhere given time and looting, the food and water I could work around.
Gota say heading for the middle of nowhere would be my choice I think, I dont think populated places are going to be places to settle imo but I guess we will find out soon enough
Well thank you.
I'm glad you liked it.
As an alternative plan, I'd say that Grand Teton national park, in Wyoming, would be a good bet.
… more With a range that spans 310, 000 acres, it would seem to me to be a great place to settle.
It's got, good water.
Lots of trees for building.
A good population of deer to hunt.
A good supply of fish.
And winters there are quite harsh, especially since Wyoming is right across the border from Canada.
I'd actually say Wyoming, would be a better bet than Michigan.
Even though it would mean the group traveling to the opposite side of the country.
At 20 miles a day on foot, the journey from North Carolina, to Grand Teton National park Wyoming, would take 3 months and 10 days to complete.
Obviously, such a trek would be a monumental undertaking.
However, given the bonuses of living in such a place, I'd say it would be well worth it.

I grew up in Michigan, and no way in hell would I want to go there during a zombie apocalypse. Agriculture is going to be one of the only long-term means of sustenance, and while you can farm in Michigan, I'd prefer a place with a longer growing season. On top of this, if you're in the bottom half of the lower peninsula, there would probably be a fairly high population of zed running around as it is more urbanized than the other parts of Michigan. If you went to the upper peninsula, you'd not have that to worry about so much, but it would be even colder. Hell, even in late August/early September, Lake Superior is damned near unswimmable due entirely to how cold the water is.
Screw that, lol.
I'd stick to the countryside, and to a place with a decent growing season. Probably set up a community in the hills of Appalachia somewhere.
a good way to make a good safe town step 1 find a town with a concrete factory nearby and build a wall around the town. step2 prepare some farm land and extend the wall as needed make certain to have an entrance and an exit. step3 if people go outside regulatory stirp screenigs for anyone whos coming in. this will keep the town safe from walkers and bandits
Personally I think the plan is a bit risky. Granted the cold and snow will slow down most walkers; but the the cold weather can be deadly no… morew that they don't have most modern day solutions to keeping warm during Winter. We had a similar plan last time with Savannah, and look where they lead us. I don't trust cities, they're too crowded with walkers, the countryside is my safest hope.
I don't have no diploma either.
Yet I'm an intelligent, comprehensive man, who's a fairly good planner.
Just because someone doesn't have a high school diploma, doesn't mean they're stupid!
And also, just because a man earns his living with his hands, doesn't make him stupid.
He's just as good as the guy who makes his living behind a desk.
Or one who's in front of a camera.
boat fishermen kenny why do people listen to him they are not good thinkers or planers he might not even have a highschool deplaoma sorry bad at spelling
Exactly.
Places where there are high concentrations of people, means a often higher level of crime and violence.
Cities today are wonderful examples of that fact.
Out in the country, on the other hand, even though violent things still happen, they are less common.
So theoretically, it's a safer place to be.

I think that Christa could have heard about Wellington during the early coarse of the apocalypse, when the radios were still working? It's a possibility
Okay...how did they even HEAR about Wellington in the first place? How do they even know it is when people say it is? Well, I guess they should try, there's always a chance I suppose.
Yeah, what awaits in Wellington. Desolation? A group more ruthless than Carver's? Or finally a safe haven of new hope? Either way, there will be no going back...
Ok i'll give you that but this is kenny anger rash doesn't think of ahead does this sound like a smart man in away he kills lee when he steals from the strangers car that is what draws him to the group from the start my lee was against it cause i saw that coming they just delt with the st.johns i knew that was a trap and there was going to be someone coming after them for the theft.

Telltale show us good sides of Wellington or Michigan .. whatever. I still don't think it's a good idea. It can be dangerous and i cannot handle another character's death ;-;
I'm actually starting to think Wellington will end up being a good place. Though Wellington is not as nice as Clementine expected, it's still filled with good people who we'll get to know in S3. The actual conflict is Tavia's group tracking Clementine's group because they escaped & a lot of people die from Tavia.
What the fuck are people thinking? Wellington is in Michigan, which is fucking cold. There are too damn many people/walkers for safety, and barring killing them all off, you still have Mother Nature being a bitch. Diseases, the wind, the soil quality, animals, and of course the winter. You may have walkers freezing up but who's to say Kenny or Clem won't?
I think that Christa could have heard about Wellington during the early coarse of the apocalypse, when the radios were still working? It's a possibility
The Wellington plans probably still their best bet. Its better than just wandering around and surviving in the wilderness for the rest of th… moreeir lives. Although it might be better for them to find a safe place along the way and stay there for a while so Rebecca's baby can be born and then get properly prepared for the journey.
Personally, judging by the Achievements for the last episode, it seems like it will either be overunned with maybe a camp full of people near Wellington, or it will be completely desolate. The last achievement proves the latter making me believe that it's empty, and you might get a chance to ride on the seesaw with Sarah Determinant or by yourself and the episode might shortly end after that proving how alone you are now, Telltale has tweeted, hinted at, and even gave subtle hints that not many people will make it out, one of the more prominent things seems to be the "Ice Cream and Pizza" Tweet. Obviously being a decision between Kenny and Luke where making the decision might be either "Center cannot Hold", "All the Dark Nights", or "Kindly stop for Me".
In the end, you'll most likely only have Clementine Obvious, Kenny/Luke, Sarah Determinant, Possibly Nick Determiant, and maybe Bonnie I would include Rebecca's baby, but since it's gonna be snowing in the last two eps, she'll won't survive Leaving you only with 5 people or possibly 3 depending on which decisions you choose throughout the season, making for a somber ending IMO.
Kenny is impulse at times.
And granted, it's never a good idea to lose your temper.
As the more angrier a person gets, the more errors in judgment they're prone to make.
However, with regards to the station wagon, Kenny did make a sound point about how badly the group was in need of food.
After all, that's the only reason they were lured in by the St Johns.
While I had Lee object, based on the principle of it, there was no denying that the group was starving.
And besides, there was no way to really prove whether it was actually abandoned or not.
Stealing when you're hungry, even though it is still morally wrong, is however understandable.
And Kenny had a very good strategy, about getting on the road to look for greener pastures.
He made another sound point about there not being any more food in the area.
And he made a great point, in regards to Clementine, back on Herschel's farm.
That keeping her nourished and whatnot, was not the only thing that Lee needed to be concerned about.
That shows his experience in being a father.

So grabbing the few weapons the St John's had, as they stated they mainly were protected by the fence, was not really an option.
And as far as food, if I was in a similar situation, I personally wouldn't want to grab anything that they had.
Since the St Johns had resorted to cannibalism, God knows what food they had, might be laced with human meat. Once I'd gotten back to the motel, I'd pack up the RV with all the weapons and supplies, and head out at first-light.

Maybe create a cliffhanger like the season finale of the walking dead season 4. and season 3 comes back with a strong premier dealing with the threat.

I personally feel they will get to Wellington, we will all be happy smiley face. Suddenly Vernon will steal the city out from under our nose.

Well a place rumoured to be safe is better than a place that you know isn't safe
Wellington would have to be run by Satan himself to be worse than Carver's camp.
Kenny knew about it too. Maybe Matthew told him when groups were heading there across the bridge

This is exactly what I thought when leaving the farm, ... grab some guddies people jeez lol
Aren't the winters pretty bad as well? It could be rough for the group if they can't find a well heated area.
