How a certain bearded man might meet his end in Amid the Ruins

  • He got lucky. Real lucky.

  • Kenny doesn't die. He respawns.

  • That's the irony of it. He goes out not with a bang, but with a whimper.

Kenny has survived cannibals, a gut shot from a rifle, losing his family, a giant horde of walkers, and having to survive on his own for months while depressed from his wife and child's death. Some dinky ass eye beating ain't gonna kill him.

  • I agree, but I think there has been more damage done to Kenny than his eye. I'm thinking more along the lines of brain damage and swelling. Could be internal bleeding to, which can take days to run it's course.

  • Nope, sorry. Zero chance they give the second most well-known / main character a death by slowly dying of an infection. No shock value in that. Would be a huge waste of resources.

  • Based on what I said? Yeah there's a huge difference between a cut and getting your face beaten in. Don't assume I mean all infections warrant death. And I DONT want Kenny to die. I'm worried that infection could happen and it could be bad.

Or people just don't want Kenny to die. Based on what you said, Clem could easily die from that wound on her face. I don't know anything

  • The pizza v.s ice cream choice might be Luke or Christa?

  • Kenny Fans! Dont Worry!

    He'll get lucky, Real lucky...

And a reminder, one of the animators, many many weeks back tweeted "Animating the inevitable #TheWalkingDead" or something like that, i'll try to find the tweet, but yeah. I agree 100% with the theory. I don't want Kenny to die, but I think it'd honestly be doing him good to die in a peaceful way and being able to say goodbye.

    EDIT

There are actually two very interesting tweets here... only one being relevant, but why not share both - I take it back on the second one being interesting actually, he might just be talking about Clementine...

  • The second one is a joke based on Assassin's Creed not choosing to make a female lead character in the new game or something. Their excuse was "women are too hard to animate" or some rubbish like that.

  • Lee died of a zombie bite, not an infection based in real life. No matter how you look at it, that's a pretty hardcore way to check out.

There IS the possibility of bleeding out though, but it is extremely unlikely unless the wound opens up again. Also: Lol downvoted for speaking opinion

  • ^ It was a zombie bite. Huge difference than a regular infection. Correct me if I am wrong but the only person to animate as a walker from an infection was the football coach with Ben I believe.

  • Those are pretty minor cuts compared to the beating Kenny took. Besides, no one in the preview was looking at Clem's face and making the kind of expression she did when she saw Kenny's. Regardless of whether or not he has a bad infection, it's still very heavily implied that he's not healing well.

Or people just don't want Kenny to die. Based on what you said, Clem could easily die from that wound on her face. I don't know anything

  • As much as his death would pain me
I think it would a great send off to an amazing character

  • Ben's coach died of blood loss after his leg get's cut off.

  • Honestly, even though I will be sad if it happens, I want Kenny to die next episode, because he's overshadowing the majority of the cabin group, and I sure as hell hope it's because of an infection or something. I personally don't want him doing another heroic sacrifice. It's been done before. I'll roll my eyes if it's done again.

Don't get me wrong, I love Kenny, he's a fantastic character, but I feel he's overstayed his welcome.

  • That's exactly how I feel about him.

I like Kenny, but I feel that he is taking screentime from other characters. Like, he's been a major player in every single main epiasode apart from S2E1, only being rivalled in terms of screentime by Clem, and she is far FAR less controversial.

That said, I would prefer not to have a death by mere infection: I feel that would render all Kenny's growth in the past few episodes pointless. He's going to do something incredibly questionable at some point, even more so than beating Carver to death or choosing to kill Larry.

His character's going somewhere, and even if it means he has to overshadow some other characters, what's done is done and he should get a fitting end to his disturbing new arc.

Arguably he should never have returned in the first place but what's done is done.

I do agree however that he should die in Amid the Ruins so as to not make this season completely about him as Season 1 tended to be and would have been if not for Clem.

I'm sorry hardcore Kenny bros, but I just don't see a 'happy ending' for Kenny and Clem walking into the sunset at the end of episode 5, and his death will not be like Lee's due to the fact that many loathe him.

  • Sometimes in life, you feel like a nut other times you eat them.

I blame society, its the crazy one, not I.

  • In rare cases, clem does not have the wound on her face. If you do nothing while kenny's being beaten, which I did in my 2nd play through just to see what happens, Sarita gets the cut from Troy after she jumps out of Carlos's arms to try and help kenny.

Yeah, but telltale isn't going to kill off clementine based off a determinant choice in episode. three.

  • Yeah, telltale's gotta put him through even more shit than he has already experienced. ._. Poor Kenny.

    skoothz posted: »

I like this theory a lot--it's a slow, sad ending to a man who's always been a fast-paced fighter. However, I see it occurring more around Episode 5 than Episode 4.

  • His death will be heroic in my opinion, but it will be a result directly from him doing something stupid/ too head strong. There would be no point in adding a small amount of irony by having him go off in peace, and that would feel pretty cheap. He will go out violently+ with a fight.

  • Maybe with this whole choice between kenny and luke people are guessing, kenny would be on the vurge of death and you are buying him only a tiny bit more time to live. Maybe Luke could be in the same position? They may have been hinting of Lukes sickness too in episode 3. I know it could just be fatigue, but who knows? I dunno, maybe this is just a stupid theory. :)

  • what if he snaps and threatens the group and a choice for clem to shoot him or luke will to protect the group instead

  • Same. He's one of my favorite characters in the whole series, but it really is time for him to make his exit. Permanently.

Ever since he turned up at the carver camp its had me questioning if he was bitten, im actually 60/40 that this is the case, I just didnt get the "exhausted" vibe from him, somthing gone down while he was away..

I hope to god if he has.. he doesnt keep it from us and turn on us in the night, would he do that after what happened with nicks mother?

    Nor anytime soon.
In fact, I see him becoming a permanent character in the game.
Like how Rick and Daryl have become permanent characters on the show.

  • I'm not sure.

All this character growth about becoming unstable and violent for him to just do nothing wrong would be a little anticlimactic for me.

I know a heroic death would be nice, but he's already had one of those in season 1.

  • I....don't know ;-; don't make me choose!

I would only shoot him if when he snapped he did something unbelievable like murdering someone again, otherwise I would leave it to Luke.

But if he was really bad i wouldn't do anything like stand in front of luke's gun.

  • If he was bitten he would have already turned, as a full day passed between us meeting him when he's tired and the end of the episode.

He isn't bitten. It was just meant to show to what extraordinary physical lengths he would go to save his friends.

  • I'm not sure I would agree...

I mean, I'd LIKE that to happen, kinda, but that's not the same as thinking it will.

I think Kenny is so controversial and has so many fans who dislike him, unlike rick and daryl who are far less so, that it would be quite mean to them if Telltale made him 'permanent'.

Plus his whole character growth this season has been about him getting unstable and violent. Would we really want someone like that perennially with us?
