Are Hubs Out For Good?
3 Episodes In and there hasnt been any hubs. Good ones at least.
There was one hub in episode 2 where we got to talk to Alvin and Nick. Thats it. The only two determinates of episode 2 too.
Telltale could make the episodes SEEM longer by adding hubs because im sure most of us spend our time connecting with people.
So yeah, are hubs out for good?

Well you pretty much answered by yourself. Yes, there is still hubs, no there is not as many hubs as in season 1.
The ski lodge was a hub technically. It was small but it was certainly a hub.
And I guess the area outside Matthew's house... and the first night in the yard. Everyone's a critic, but I find those to be mediocre. More or less. There are some nice lines in what little there is, but I think you get what my problem is when reading the second adjective I used: There is so little of that.
What I have noticed this season is that telltale are making these moments in Season 2 much more realistic by having certain characters interact with each other while your walking around the "hubs". An Example being Sarita and Sarah's conversation at the lodge. This is one feature that I think added to this season compared to season 1's dead silence most of the time
It looks like it i know your talking about TWD but in ep5 of TWAU there was 2 hub area's off the top of my head so telltale seem completely story driven now (i still like their games tho)
I don't think they'll come back.
Those were not hubs. Just locations to explore.
We surely had a lot of opportunities for a hub.....during the 5 day walk, outside Matthew's house, the ski lodge and the first night in Carver's camp. I'm not saying all of them should have been hubs, but at least 2 of them would've been nice. I hope they are coming back one way or another.
This season? Most likely, putting them in only now wouldn't even work well with how this season is paced. The series as a whole? I doubt it, I'm pretty sure they'll be implemented back in the third season after Telltale go; "Oh shit, people actually loved them."
It does because it's mystery and you need hubs to explore the environment and find clues.
Pudding and Pie
Clicking a car at the pudding and pie
Clicking georgie's blood to get a lovely line from Bigby "Holy shit!
Metal Works Steel mill
There was more to click on but the only important thing was the billboard with all the pictures
Hubs have characters you can to talk to. Counting Georgie and Vivian which is a forced conversation wouldn't exactly count.
Hmm... Ok you're right.
The only hub the game really had were in Season 1 the motel and the abandoned house.
Looking at the achievements, I don't think there will be any hubs that span over a single episode, but maybe the museum will be a temporary hub?
How many goddamn threads are going to be made about hubs?
More than there already has been apparently. People are beating a dead parrot with this.
Lol.
Don't know if you folks remember it, but before hubs were a thing to complain about, it was fashionable for people to complain about the season's writing, making it out to be poor when episode 1 had been released. There were also insults directed towards one or two writers, though now I see the occasional thread about wanting said writers to handle an episode.
Basically, if hubs are ever given back, there'll just be something else to complain about.![;) ;)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/wink.png)
No matter what it seems that people will always have something to complain about
Yup, hence why it is, at times, not a good idea to listen to the complaints on forums.
Sometimes it's just best for developers to ignore it and stick to their vision.
Well haters gonna hate, but in my opinion, if you hate something come out and say it but don't make a huge fuss about it.
Hershel's farm, St. John's dairy, train, abandoned house in episode 3, school in Crawford and the house in episode 5 just before Ben falls to his death (determinant). There may have been more.
Nothing wrong with that indeed, and I have occasionally made the odd complaint. It's only problematic when people complain and complain all the time, and act like their opinion is fact, thinking they speak for everyone. That last part is quite annoying to be frank because all they have is a personal opinion.
I'm seeing that now actually on the steam forums (not related to Telltale) while browsing. It's just an internet problem in general really.
How have you not made a thread about this?
I get it now.
Telltale won't listen to us because that's all we do. We complain and complain and complain about the stupidest things sometimes. That's why Telltale doesn't take us seriously, and won't listen!
You're a genius!
Yeah, it was the first hub but only lasted a single episode
Won't achieve anything other than draw the 'you made a thread complaining about others complaining' comments.
Edit: Also, something that's interesting even though I hardly know the full story behind the game's development. I bought the humble bundle yesterday to grab a copy of XCOM: The Bureau. That game supposedly came under fire from fans. It was changed because of it or because of other reasons?
Edit: And as an aside, BioWare expanded on Mass Effect 3's ending. Did that stop the complaining?
The sad thing is, even if you like a game the way it is, as long as the majority of fans, at least most of them dislike something about a game, the producers won't have much choice but to change what is disliked or to drop it.
When it comes to adding new things to a game, it's not always favoured by fans, especially if it's a bit 'late' in a series to start making major changes.
Well, it's not really a "complain about complaining" thread.
More of "They won't listen because you're complaining, and I'm gonna tell you why."
Trust me, it won't do any good.
Though I appreciate the suggestion and everything.
If anything, it'll probably annoy the moderators too.
But still, if you want to create one, feel free. I might chime in or I might not, depending on how busy I am and how I'm feeling. Currently working on a game myself, which I know what the response to will be, plus I don't see much value in debating things on forums as all it is, by and large, is a bunch of people screaming at each other and trolling.
You know guys, I sometimes question if some people are actually fans of the game, considering the surprising amount of hate for minor issues.
Be prepared for the barrage of dislikes.
You're not the only one who shares that view though.
Also, I think a part of this has to do with nostalgia for season 1, as sequels are very rarely highly regarded. For instance, choices mattering. They didn't matter that much in season 1 either, yet people seem to think they're mattering less in season 2 (I don't know how the relationships change in season 2 based on decisions, but I know that, while you could annoy Lilly or Kenny in season 1, you still ended up with largely the same story). In fact, choices not mattering that much is really the only thing I can find to complain about when it comes to Telltale's games.
Of course, making choices really matter opens up another can of worms too, as the episodes would take longer to make. Meaning people would bombard the forum with complaints about the development time.
The ending could differ this time as the ending differed in TWAU, although TWD is a completely different genre.
People tend to have a different view on sequels, you are most likely right about nostalgia, high expectations are a major culprit. But I have to say I dislike how some people only dislike the Season for it's length, it's not the only great game that takes under 24 hours to complete, but it has high replay value. I might dislike peoples' arguments for things that to me are regarded as minor, but I still respect everyone's viewpoint and opinions, whether I like them or not. I just don't feel like it's the right time to complain about the game, especially when it's incomplete.
I remember when people mainly complained about the bugs and glitches in a game.
The length complaint is another problem actually. Not saying all, but it seems to me that some are saying the episode's not long enough when what they really have a problem with is the supposed lack of character development.
And yeah, if only more people thought like you. Respecting other's opinions even if you disagree or dislike said opinion.
I don't remember a time really when people only complained about bugs and glitches though. Back when this sort of complaining wasn't as prevalent, wasn't the arguing years ago relegated to 'system wars'? As stupid as that sort of thing is.
Character development takes place mainly in dialogue, which prolongs the length of the episode. You are right this does seem to be the primary culprit of complaints, but I think that telltale is trying to focus more on the plot, unlike Season 1 where they had hubs that lasted over a single episode, this Season tells a different story while also acting as a continuation of a remarkable story. But I have to say that there were quite a few chances where players could partake in conversations with members of the group, but the conversations don't last as long as a usual conversation did in the first Season, I am sure that telltale is saving character development with the characters that will matter the most this Season.
Yeah, many people did talk about system wars, but I should have included in my comment that from my experience in being part of forums during the creation of the game, the main subject was the bugs that were found and glitches as well, now I remember those games were in Beta, sorry for the misconception.
Can I just ask, isnt the point of the episodes is for telltale to listen and implement/kill things?
there was an outcry for larry to be killed after episode 1, he was killed in episode 2 and I think a writer said they did it because of the demands?
Well there's some proof that telltale does listen!
