Set Series 3 in a different country

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

I think that would be really interesting and different, and there'd be a lot of stuff they could do with that.

I'd like to see it set in England, if only because that's where I'm from/live.
I think it'd be interesting to see it in some Middle East country, or Africa.

What countries would you like to see the apocalypse in?

  • I think that would be awesome. Sadly Robert said something like "The Walking Dead universe will only ever take place in America. If you disagree with this you can kiss my ass"

  • Make them travel from Wellington to Canada it would litteraly be around 10 times colder than wellington

  • I guess the rest of the world were smart enough to nuke themselves

We can't simply forget about Clementine

  • Antarctica

  • That isn't part of Kirkman's vision, so he probably wouldn't ok it. He wants us to always be in the dark about other countries unless we somehow meet people who came from there.

  • I'd like to see the outbreak in China or Japan. Oh the chaos

  • Yep, Its funny to me because Canadian winters drop to around 10-15 times colder than Wellington winters and that is just in southern Canada, its even colder farther up north, not to mention our winters last 2/3 of the year so considering everyones dying in Wellington from the "unbearable" cold is cute :p then again i can hardly stand 25 degrees celsius

  • Tokyo would be hell.

  • You got a link to him saying that? 'Cause if it's true Kirkman can freely kiss MY ass, that fat bearded shit. It's like he's trying to limit the quality of his comic on purpose.

  • clemintine in Ireland:D good luck getting across the Atlantic without Kenny's boat!

  • I'd like to see England too. But the only problem is people don't have guns in England and a lot of other countries so it might not be as exciting. In America you can have standoffs between people with guns. In England it'd just be a load of guys with cricket bats and knives.

  • I don't care where it is as long as Clementine is still in the game. No, the game shouldn't change main characters, that's be a dumb idea. Clementine is and has been the entire point to the game, and damn well better continue to be. If her story ends then someone else's continues that'd make Season 1 and 2 pointless.

  • I bet that zombie apocalypse in Russia would be very hardcore. Sadly, it will never be confirmed in the game.

  • talk about apocalypse in other countries. what happened to 28 months later???? that shit was awesome and at the end of weeks it turned out it had spread over the ocean and reached into france?? (sorry I know its not walking dead, but this kinda reminded me of that)

Pretty sure the snow here completely melted around late-April, early-May. I've mentioned this before, but one winter I've had it go down to -50. I feel like a lot of people would not survive Canadian winters haha

  • Im sure if he said that its because he didnt want to do the extra work of researching a new country. It sounds like something he would say.

    Edit: Wrong topic.

  • Maybe its time to move on from TWD?

  • Tibet and shaolin monk for protagonist.

We could use dem secret shaolin kung fu skills to zombies.

  • God forbid a writer does research.

In all seriousness, I don't see TWD taking place anywhere except the US or (maybe) Canada. It's an interesting concept but it comes with a slew of potential issues.

  • Even Stephen King said how much he hates doing research and a lot of his books are massive.

  • Well technically the only guns that are around are used by Farmers- there are a lot of farms in the UK :)

I'd like to see England too. But the only problem is people don't have guns in England and a lot of other countries so it might not be as ex

  • Even better, set it in Staten Island and make the protagonist a master of the Wu-Tang style.

  • I want clem in middle east it would be cool actually

  • Maybe.........never. Besides Clementine has to live on for a couple seasons, not everything is about you.

  • Jump off a cliff.

Maybe its time to move on from TWD?

  • Much as I'd like to see more zombie stories set elsewhere in the world (that don't involve Nazis), I think the Walking Dead has a uniquely Eastern US thing going on. Suddenly making a wild departure for Germany, Nigeria, or China say would be pretty damned jarring.

  • Russia or a different side of America. West coast or some shit.

  • Well, America is the whole continent so ...

I read a great trilogy of zombie apocalypse books by Z.A. Recht! And the books follow two groups that eventually come together to find the cure. One of the groups is in the military who is combating the virus in Africa, where it started. (It obviously doesn't start in Africa in TWD). But I think I situation like that could work!

  • Well, I live in Australia. And when it's Summer, it's hot. And I mean hot.

Imagine trying to fight off an easy moving walker while dehydrated, sweating, and weak.

YEAH, ISN'T MUCH FUN NOW, IS IT?

  • S3 Canada Awaits

    S4 Freezing Denmark

    S5 Antarctica: Cold as shit

    S6 Outer Space
