''Are you feeling okay?''

I'm actually surprised. No one has really talked about this yet, but Luke seems odd.
''My head, y'know, is just spinnin'. Could... could use a couple hours of sleep in here''. Luke closes his eyes for a moment. Clem: ''Luke?''. Luke: Oh, sorry, sorry. Shit... okay. Clem: ''Are you feeling okay?''. Luke: ''No... no, I mean... yeah, yes, sorry. I-- I just could use some sleep, you know? It's hard to sleep when you think a lurker's about to the get the jump on you at any, any moment, but yeah. Yeah. I'm fine, okay? Don't worry about me.''

As this might be possible, Luke could have a walker bite. Seems like he almost passes out in this picture above, just like Lee did. (Although he actually passed out). I was scared of Luke disappearing after you come back with the walkie talkie. Of course, he could just be very tired, who wouldn't be after a long trip like this, but Luke is really pale, and... just plain odd. He talks weirdly, too. (This might be because of whispering, but the voice just doesn't sound like the normal Luke). Luke could be just sick, too.

The theory of a walker bite is likely false, because as seen in the Amid the Ruins screenshot, it's already bright outside, during the escape it was dark. It takes about a day to turn into a walker, and the day seems to be passed already, and Luke is still alive, and looks pretty much normal.

It's likely that Luke was just tired, but why did Telltale make him so... odd? If there really was no real purpose of just Luke being tired, what's the point adding it? I'm scared for Luke, because the way he acted wasn't normal. Maybe he's just tired, maybe something worse. We'll see.

  • Have you ever been really tired, and you feel yourself drifting off even though you're trying to stay awake? That's basically what Luke was doing; putting so much effort into staying awake that he forgot about everything else and almost fell asleep.

After he gets put back into the yard with the rest of the group, we can assume he had some sleep in the comic store and he's a lot better and clear-headed. Honestly I think it was a one-time thing that they used so that he could get caught by Carver.

"No one has talked about it?". That statement is so bold I can't even describe how.

As for Luke, he is not bitten. It takes hours to die and then turn in case of walker bite, he survived for more than a full day, and still looked relatively healthy. He is not bitten, just very tired from being deprived of sleep and food/water.

EDIT: I didn't bother to read it fully, for that I apologize. As for Telltale making him that way, I think it was to confuse us whether he is bitten or not, and he really isn't.

  • Yeah I don't think he was bitten because he would have turned already. He might have met someone or had to do something horrible in the time that he was alone.

  • This has actually been talked about before, but it's a theory that's easily debunked, because if Luke was actually bitten he would've already turned by the end of episode 3.

Personally the thought of him being bit never even crossed my mind when playing for the first time, since I have had many nights where I have gotten little to no sleep in order to finish projects for school, and I can tell you first hand that when I saw Luke it reminded me of myself after having spent a night or two without much sleep, so Telltale's depiction of him during this scene was very accurate imo. How he acted was normal of any sleep deprived person, so he definitely wasn't bit.

  • Yeah, he is surely not bitten. I've actually never seen anyone talking about this, but it's just from my perspective. ^^

  • Well, Luke looks pretty healthy in the screenshot, so he's probably had some rest by now. On a side-note, we have the same picture, we should totally team up!

  • Yay! We're a team! ^^

  • Yep, that's the most likely answer, dare I say, the answer.

  • It was just tiredness most likely, designed to show the players to what lengths he would go to save his friends.

Many thought he had abandoned them in episode 2, so this was just to show they were wrong and there was some other reason.

  • But children and adults romantically involved make everything right in the world!

  • I'm pretty sure they did it to throw us off. That's why the question was there to begin with, and that blood was on the floor when he disappeared. They wanted us to think he might've gotten bitten, but judging by the new screencap, he's probably fine.

  • For the Last time he isn't bitten he would have already being slow and keep coughin ( however you spell it ) blood and would struggle to walk

  • He's looking a lot less pale in that screenshot, that's for certain.

  • Yeah, he's a lot less peaked. He and Bonnie are more or less the same coloring now.

  • He just didn't have enough sleep.

  • I suppose Luke could be getting sick, but he's almost certainly not bit, he would have logically showed a lot more signs than just being a little pale and out of it at that point.

Yeah, "Oh shit, he's bitten" was the first thing that came to my mind, when I saw Luke back in that comics store... But Luke was just tired. You see, after he got some rest (when Kenny was unconscious and others were talking about getting out of the pen), he seemed healthier, his voice sounded more calmly. And he was strong enough to argue to wait for an opening.

Not counting how pale Luke is, Carlos looks much worse than him.

He is tired, once i went to my gf's house and it was late i missed all the buses, i had to walk through all the city, yup it was a 4 hours walk from 10pm-2am, believe it, i felt like him and he walked even more.

  • I thought he was bit, but he was chasing them for 3 days without food, and he seems ok in the late part of ep 3, plus he looks ok in ep 4.

  • Try hiking 24+ hours, without eating or sleeping. You'll either be passed out somewhere or a pale, shaky mess.

Luke was actually doing pretty well, all things considered.

  • NO MORE CLUKE PLEASE ! I barely can handle with NUKE idea , but CLUKE ? Hell no.

  • I've never felt like that before. Now I'm curious, I think I'm gonna force myself to stay awake until that happens. Fuck sleep haha, right?

Um. I've never passed out either. Maybe It will help me pass out! YES, two for one! Totally gonna try this, but not tonight. Soon. Heh.

  • He's not bitten.

This actually has been discusses... many times.

He didn't have any sleep for 24+ hours, he was incredibly hungry, thirsty and had quite the loss of thought. After he got a nights rest, (The night Clementine got the radio) you could see that those symptoms weren't showing anymore. So, if he was bit, the fever would have started to get worse than better. He would have started to look way paler, with dark bags under his eyes, etc.

So, that pretty much concludes it. He's not bitten.
