Are people who think the ending was a cliffhanger setting themselves up for disappointment?
I don't think telltale has any intention of ever telling us the mystery behind faith and nerissa because the point of the final scene was to leave the final mystery up to the players to decide (its not cliffhanger for season 2 or a hint at future dlc)
why would they give the players the option to let Nerissa go and if they were going to continue her story in a session 2 and The (Let Nerissa go) ending felt very much like a "Real Ending" because when bigby walked away it seemed like he had moved on and was heading back to his office
there was nothing about that ending that screamed seaon 2 or sequal
Now on the other hand you have the "Go after her" ending I think it is tricking some people into think that a season 2 is going to continue the nerissa storyline and answer their questions lol

Not sure what makes you think that way. But hey clearly it hints. Not to mention what the Woodsman said to Bigby; when there's something he can do about the girls.
Besides, "Let Her Go" doesn't mean he'll let things slip, it's probably the only thing that got Bigby's attention that much in the season. Even in addition, it doesn't have to be the only thing that got Bigby's attention the most, letting her go clearly could probably mean that Bigby's not sure about it and therefore will investigate further.
Hm I kinda agree with you
I feel like it might be shown in a short scene at the end beginning us season 2 but ultimatly narrisa is going to "get away" anyway and bigby is going to find out "whatever he's going to find out" anyway
What people seem to forget is that if Season 2 centers on the Faith/Nerissa mystery, all it would consist of is 30 seconds of gameplay in which Bigby asks the Magic Mirror 2 things: "Show me Nerissa" "Show me Faith." Boom. Done. Roll credits.
so true lol
I think it was set up for a season 2, but I don't think that necessarily means they'll make one. I hope they do though.
but i chose to let Nerissa go
so how is that setting up a season 2 for me lol
read my first post
I haven't had a chance to play the episode yet again yet, what happens if you go after her?
i did read you your post Free_Dead but i don't buy it
(((letting her go clearly could probably mean that Bigby's not sure about it and therefore will investigate further)))
that ending did not strike me like that all and it would be a smack in the face to a lot of players if telltale ignored their choices just to set up a season 2
I didn't let her go because i wanted to investigate further
I let her go because the mystery of Nerissa identity didn't interest me
she helped bring down a criminal empire and made fabletown a better place
her "real" identity is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things and as far as i was concerned her story and the case was over
nothing the screen fades to black
=> well thanks for reading, and that response!
=> TTG quickly ended the scene, NOT depending on what you did. I'm sure there were things you didn't want the story to go as (or your actions' results), but that's how the story progressed. I say you need to think further and you'll understand.
=> Exactly. You also probably didn't want to fight Gren in E.1, but ended up in a fight. You probably didn't want to chase the Tweedle in e.1, but ended up following. You probably didn't want to this and that, but couldn't because of the story!
=> Your thing.
=> Good.
=> But Bigby suspected something and he can't let that go. Faith was the first to be murdered and due to her death the case was opened, so how is her ''real'' identity isn't related?
((But Bigby suspected something and he can't let that go))
Yes Bigby did suspected something but its up to the player to decide if bigby wants to investigate it or not
1.My Bigby let Nerissa go because i did not want to investigate it any further (for me the story of faith is over)
2 Your Bigby went after Nerissa and chose to investigate it further
The big question for telltale if they make a season 2 is how are they going to satisfy both of us without ignoring the others choice
Double comment plz ignore
They should make a dlc where we play as Tj crying everytime someone talks to us. 10/10 goty
I feel like Bluebeard didn't really play a role in this season. So, i was thinking maybe they will capltize him in the 2nd one and that was the whole point of this character?
I really hope they will make a second season, but my hopes aside I am inclined to think they will. This game has done marvelously for itself, and as long as they are allowed to continue I don't see why they wouldn't. They continued on with The Walking Dead: S2 after the way the story ended in the first season, so they are totally capable of doing the same type of thing here.
I'm partial to the ideas of TellTale leaving the mystery of Nerissa/Faith up to the player or releasing a DLC to clear it up once and for all, but another idea I haven't seen yet is this: maybe they will release a second season, maybe more, and maybe the mystery of N/F will be an ongoing one that you slowly piece together. I agree in thinking that this single mystery alone wouldn't be enough to drive a full season, so why not have it as a little story, having Bigby slowly picking up pieces of the puzzle even when he's not purposefully looking for them? This way it would satisfy both endings in whatever way they were interpreted and maybe you could even be given the choice to choose between main story leads or N/F leads? Just a thought.
If the Faith/Nerissa thing remains a mystery it wouldnt really bother me. Im fine with them moving onto some other part of the story. I just feel bad for Lawrence if hes still alive, to think that his wife just abandoned him when he thought she was dead.
Actually, I think Telltale needs to make a second season because they left a lot of loose strings in their plot; starting with the fact that they rewrote the episodes and Prince Lawrence was never seen or heard from again even though Faith was the original victim and Lily was the second. I would very much like to know about his disappearance. Why wouldn't he come stand trial against the Crooked Man like Holly did?
Next, we have the appearance of Cindy (Cinderella) throughout the episodes but her character plays no major role in the series. I find that oddly suspicious. Since she didn't appear in this season I can only guess that she will be playing a part in season 2 and her appearance was a foreshadowing. You can look at screenshots of Cindy here: http://fleurdealix.tumblr.com/post/82605003975/prince-charming-is-actually-also-cindys-ex-husband-as
Third, is everyone forgetting that Crane is alive and hiding out somewhere in Europe? With Bloody Mary & The Crooked Man dead he has basically gotten away Scott Free for his crimes of money laundering, fraud, etc.
Fourth, what about the farm up north? With Snow demanding to send them all away there could possibly be a coup or some other event to cause the shit to hit the fan.
Fifth, the whole Faith/Nerissa thing. Either way it turns out there's got to be more of a backstory and motivation behind all of the events in season 1. Whether Faith/Nerissa is good or evil has yet to be determined.
Sixth, Dee, Dum & Jersey have not been taken into custody yet to be put on trial for aiding in murder, crime, etc. against the fables.
Lastly, where in the world is King Cole? The series begins with Crane being in charge because Cole is away. He can't be dead since TWAU mentions how it's been a long time since a Fable was murdered (speaking of, who was that Fable?) and they don't mention that he is dead so..? Will he come back and take his place as Mayor or will this be left as a loose end?
Clearly there needs to be a season 2 as Telltale had a lot of plot holes that need to be addressed. If it ends with this season I can say I will be pretty disappointed with the half-assed storyline (you have to admit, there are quite a few flaws with TWAU); however, if they continue on with the amazing cliffhanger they left I think that there is a great chance of making this game even greater than it is. Anyway, this is why I think there's a pretty good chance of them continuing the game.
Lawrence wanted to take his own life out of guilt over what Faith had to become in order to support him. He seemed to think that she should have abandoned him a long time ago. If he found out she was really alive and was able to escape that wretched life, he might just be glad she finally has a chance to live a better life.
Im sure youre right that he would be happy for her, getting out, but still, to have someone you love think you're dead and just walk away, that seems cruel to me. I can only hope that she gets some word to him to let him know she's okay and to go on with his life. Thats how it is in my head anyway, lol
Really, im down with more TWAU, but i think this conclusion doesn't need explaining.
I agree with you, this is exactly another reason why I feel they will/should continue because the murders that we solved were only PART of the story. Sure, it was the whole driving force behind it, but like you've said they addressed a lot more things along the way that have made this season about more than just the murders.
I really hope that they didn't just flesh the story/characters/backgrounds out so much just for the people that have read the comics, because that would be a huge let down. I mean, I had no idea this was a comic until I finished this game and you can bet your ass I'm going to read them now (just ordered the first two volumes today, actually) but still, even if you did come into this game having read the comics I still think they have already given us too much to stop now.
The N/F thing aside there is a lot more that needs to be finished. I didn't end up saving Prince Lawrence my first go 'round (unfortunately) so I never thought twice about him, but like you've pointed out there's Crane (who I know Bigby and Snow would NOT let get away), and the Tweedles and Jersey and The Crooked Man, etc. etc. Plus the farm and...shoot, I remember there was something else I had thought about last night that wasn't cleared up, but I can't think of it now.
But to sum it all up: yeah, I agree with you. lol
This whole Faith-Nerissa thing I think was just a way to end the season with the player thinking. It could be a step for a DLC, and what I mean like that is a DLC modeled after 400 Days where you play through short stories as different Fables. One of them could be Bigby, and it is where you go talk to Nerissa regardless if you went after her or let her go.
My hopes aside, I'm sure Telltale is going to make a Season 2, but I doubt it will have anything to do with Season 1 in regards to the Crooked Man and his angles in Fabletown. I don't even think it will follow a murder mystery, because it will end up being really repetitive.
I just remembered another thing that needs to be addressed. I believe this happens in episode 3. When Bluebeard, Bigby and Snow are arguing over whose place to check out first (Crane's apartment, The Tweedle's Office, or The Trip Trap Bar).
If you go to Crane's first, and the Tweedle's Office second. You will see that Bluebeard beat the crap out of Flycatcher and turned their office upside down looking for something.
On the other hand, if you go to the Tweedle's Office first and then to Crane's apartment second, I believe you will notice some things burned in the fireplace.
So there's also the matter of figuring out what the hell Bluebeard is up to. He should be arrested for interfering with an investigation at the very least.
Also, when Vivian was confessing her involvement, she said something along the lines of not being able to look Gwen and Hans in the eyes because of her shame. I don't know who Gwen is but I don't recall seeing Hans with a ribbon so there's also the mystery of what Vivian/Georgie/CM did to Hans left to be discovered for season 2.
Maybe on of these was the part that you couldn't remember?
P.S. I really like your username.
I think you're probably right. A fresh start for season two, probably a completely different name, would be cool.
You know, I think Bluebeard might have been what I was thinking about, because since I went to the Tweedle's first and then Crane's second, like you said, what looked like possible evidence in Crane's apartment was burned and they never seemed to really expand on that. I was curious what Bluebeard would do elsewhere, but regardless I think they let him off waaaay too easy, especially considering he doesn't really "work well with others." I know he helps out Fabletown with his riches, but even so everyone seemed so content on dealing with the CM that the only time Bigby even mentions Bluebeard they just all forget about it seconds later, and that's not exactly something that someone looking for Crane or the CM would do, I believe. So I think there could definitely be something more to it.
Also, I remember that I was a little confused by the mention of Gwen but let it go, deciding that I probably met her at one point and just forgot about her. (Happens to me a lot in video games. lol) Plus, I was also confused by Hans since I don't remember him wearing a ribbon either, so I've wondered what she could have done to them to feel so guilty...but, she was working with the CM, even if in a roundabout way, so I guess her guilt could have been about involving them in all that, but who knows! It would be nice to find out, though!
And thank you! haha Partly inspired by Invader Zim, and partly inspired by my love of spaghetti...more or less.
