do you blame vernon and the cancer survivors[S1 ep4 spoilers?

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

While we await the arrival of ep4 of series 2 ive been watching crys lets play of series 1 (lets plays on TWD are awsome watching others reactions and choices) and you see things in a different light when watching it through...

On coming back and realising the boat had gone and Vernon and co the ones who took it I was a bit miffed to say the least on my initial playthrough, but on refection I dont think we can be to pissed at them...

They were surviving pretty well till we showed up and helped omid in his dire time of need, helped us into crawford (yes I know they gained meds also but still) and lost brie in the middle of it all..

Then on the escape from crawford, vernon spots the herd that followed our train, this being the turning point for the group, it was hard enough befor withough brining thousands of zombies with us, we made there current survival situation impossible, so I think they deserved the boat for what we caused...

Ok wasnt the nicest thing, but its survival right? The only complication to this I can see so far is clem, vernon talks with us (lee) about looking after clem, this after vernon notices the herd, and then sods off without clem..

So whats your thoughts?

No... what they did was going to the lowest of the low... It lowered Lee's group moral and in the end gave them little hope and little options... Lee and the group put their trust in the cancer survivors and then they turn around and back stab them like that? As my Lee said... Fuck em, they were people who knew what they were doing...

I can understand why they did it but that doesn't mean I won't hate them for it

  • My survival outweighs their survival. You put my survival at risk, and you are an enemy.

The Cancer Patients stole another group's means of survival.

I guess we can't fully blame them but if they had that boat, Clementine, Christa, Omid and possibly even Kenny could have all been together instead of being separated, and Omid might not have died.

  • I don't blame them, really.

One character, can't remember who (Christa? Sounds like something she'd say) said that if we were in their situation, we may well have tried to do the same thing. I mean, I can't imagine Kenny not trying to go after ti for example.

As a result of that, I don't feel I can blame them any more than I can blame Lilly: they are victims of the apocalypse driven to do horrible things that they would never do in real life. It's pretty grim.

I can't understand why they did. Vernon worried about Clem and said that he could bring her in his group. However, he didn't even talk about the herd that came from the train side, and he and his group stole the boat. If he really worried about Clem, he had to tell about the herd to Lee's group, but he didn't. Which means... Eventually, he just tried to save his ass. Yeah, I blame them.

  • ...I'm glad it didn't help them and Vernon died. I fucking hate the whole lot of them.

  • In 400 days, one of tje cancer group says:

'The boat was the reason we lost Brie and Vernon' or something.

You can fairly assume he died, seeing he isn't with them and mentioned as lost among the dead Brie.

  • He says the boat is the reason we lost Vernon, i was thinking he left the group and took the boat for himself, the word Lost can mean many things.

  • I hate thieves,

Yeah i blame Vernon, if i ever get t he chance i'm going to make soup out of his face.

  • He used the word 'lost' in the same sentence when talking about Brie.

He wouldn't have been able to water and steer the boat alone. Maybe he tried cutting them out, but was eaten in the process.

We don't know for sure, but I think he died.

  • The only way we can be certain is if we see them die, or else they could be brought back to life excel saga style.

Vernon is shit... he took the boat for himself (We know it when we play the 400 days).

  • I wouldn't say it was Vernon and the cancer survivor group there caused Lee's death. If they didn't take the boat, then it would've been much different. Maybe we didn't even get a season 2? They helped Lee's group with the Battery, Fuel and Meds, and yea, its about survival. I didn't like that they stole the boat from us, but i don't hate them.

  • I understand why he did it, but that doesn't make it any less of a horrible thing to do, especially if you leave a group member behind to watch the boat (since Vernon's group beats them unconscious).
