Would you like playing as Luke in Season 3?

If there was a Season three.

I'd rather stay playing as Clementine to be honest

Not a terrible idea though, Luke is fairly agreeable as a person so he's a possible candidate for someone we could play as.

  • An interesting thought. But just as with Clementine, we know Luke. We know what he would do. It would be really hard to dive into his mind and make our own decisions while still keeping his personality and moral views loyal to how he is without our influence.

  • I like Luke and all but no. In the end I wana play as someone who I know and Luke I know no shit about. If i really had to pick a character to play, I would like Jane.

  • Clementine, nothing else

Well this is true. That is the reason why I think playing as Kenny would be a terrible idea, as he's so predefined that making choices would inevitably lead to acting out of character.

I would argue that it's different for Clem though: as she is young, you can argue she was partly shaped by how Lee treated her, and thus you can make her your own character in season 2.

Some Clems, probably those Lee tried to teach that killing wasn't necessary like sparing Danny St John, would try to avoid that and take less joy in seeing others die, whereas other Clems, probably those Lee taught that murder is necessary by killing Larry or murdering Danny, would be more likely to take enjoyment or at least believe killing is often correct, and hence would do things like stay to watch Carver die brutally.

  • We know more about Luke than Jane though :p

  • Is that not a little silly, though? With Clementine I kind of get the idea they were going for when we switched to controlling her, she is a child growing up, so her changes are justified. The fact of the matter is that the characters we know all have highly developed, already established personalities. If we take over such a character, we would be very likely to go wild and out of character, making rash decisions that the character's views contradict.

If we do not stick with Clementine in Season 3, I feel it would be much more fun and adventurous for us to have a new protagonist that we can project ourselves onto again rather than ruin an already established character.

I like Luke and all but no. In the end I wana play as someone who I know and Luke I know no shit about. If i really had to pick a character to play, I would like Jane.

  • No worries.

We can have a two-year time skip that butchers his character and allows us to play him the way we want.

  • I love Luke. However... I want to play as Clementine, but I wouldn't completely turn down the game if it was Luke, i'd obviously still play it.

  • Honestly I still maintain playing as clem is a bad idea, it was way more interesting to see her change with the world without us in control

  • NO .i don't want to play as Luke.

  • Hell to the no. Luke is a pussy who didnt want to kill Carver.

  • No thanks, I like Luke but I wouldn't want to play as him. The TWD series is Clem's story and always has been (even though she wasn't the protagonist of the first game) and I'd prefer for it to stay that way.

Luke is cool, I think but... no. I mean... no.

  • No, i would rather play as a evil version of Bigsby in the next season. This season makes me feel so helpless.

  • I like him a lot and stuff, but no.

  • I could go for that.

  • I'm a Luke fan but I'd rather continue playing as Clem and as I don't see TT killing her off, there's really no need for a character switch.
Season 1 was effectively about teaching Clem how to survive through Lee and getting the player to really care about Lee and Clem so that when Lee died at the end, Clem was ready to take the reigns and there'd be less stigma around playing as a child as players have already built up that connection. Clem remembered everything Lee taught her for a reason so there really wasn't anyone else more suitable to become the playable character. Switching to another player for season 3 would just be strange unless ofcourse were were following Christa or Kenny to fill in the gaps in their disappearance. (And even then I think both of those would be better as DLCs)

  • No, I think we should keep playing as Clem.

  • No, i wouldn't. I like playing as Clementine.

LUKE? never his not able to make the hard decisions and would not be able to protect Clem to a high enough standard for me his not a fighter like Lee who never made Clem do all the work he risked life and limb for her Luke won't even help her out of the shed in case he gets into trouble leaving her to die if she didn't do anything even at the bridge he made her risk her life. Clem is always the best candidate we molded her into the person she is I want to go with this story till the end.

  • Clem's got bigger balls then him, he's kindoff a pussy.

  • Yes
    Machete ftw

  • Hehe quite possibly ;P

Did she watch Carver get mutilated?

    Any characters is O.K.

  • Do you really think Clem's character was 'butchered'?

  • Yeah, cause risking your life and running after a bus to the point of exhaustion in order to save your friends is acting like a 'pussy'.

    "I pick Jane."

  • I'd have preferred if we had played as Luke in Season 2, and had found Clementine walking around the woods in the middle of the episode.

  • Who said they would have to kill off Clem? I agree that we shouldn't play as Luke, but no one said ANYTHING about killing Clementine off.

I'd love to play as Luke so much! Just give me 5 minutes alone being able to walk him around in circles on the spot and I can die happy a fan! (dumps the content of piggy bank onto Telltale's desk) take it, take it all! I'll even give you my lucky left kidney, just let me play as the Luke!

Although it would be interesting if for a Season 3 they took it a step further and allowed you to play more than one character, so at times it swaps over, but maybe only when necessary and not too much. 400 Days felt a little dizzy with all the character swapping and not giving you much time with them.

  • Right, I think they should change the perspective's for every season to give give the game more variety. Maybe next season we play as a adult female who is with Clementine after the end of Season 2.

Who said they would have to kill off Clem? I agree that we shouldn't play as Luke, but no one said ANYTHING about killing Clementine off.

They already made Luke too defined. I personally would have shot Carver on the spot, I don't want to play as the guy who advocated against such an action.

  • No thanks, I don't like Luke much and I don't want to play as him. It's like forcing someone who doesn't like Kenny to play as him. We can make bonds with both of these characters and decide which one we like, dislike or like/dislike both ect, but If you're stuck playing as one you don't like it's just unpleasant.

  • Actually, there could be a way to play Luke like we want to without feeling out of the character. The solution would , for Luke, to live an emotional shock which would eventually lead to a trauma. Like that, it would be totally justified to play him as a darker character than in S2, because traumas can change people a lot.

  • No, I'd rather have him be Clementine's companion, or go his own way, or whatever. Clementine is a lot more unique as a character, and the story she can tell (in a video game in general, but in especially in a zombie apocolypse) is more interesting than a young white man, when you consider her age. I mean, we can play her as she grows up and shape her whole personality. Luke already has a personality of his own.

  • I think it be cool to play one eyed Kenny

  • We played as the Bonnie, and she's still defined as a character.
