For those who cut her arm....

I don't think her hat would be able to stop the bleeding that much.
Hmm but clem isnt clem without her hat. she cannot lose her hat unless she finds it later, but this makes sense.
Good idea. To save a life, sure, though I don't know how efficient it'd be at stopping the bleeding. She has a hatchet so she could try to make a tourniquet/some makeshift bandages from other clothes too. I'm guessing the hat would be unrecognizable afterwards though--with that much blood, all the white would turn to red
if someone tried to use a hat as a tourniquet i think i would try to drowned them in the blood squirting out of my arm.
What else is there in the middle of a horde, though?
I was thinking that she could just slip the hat over the stump and apply pressure. As much as I love that stinky old hat I would try to save Sarita's life if I could.
A tourniquet is a constricting/compression device, I'm just talking about using the hat to try and stop the bleeding after that grisly arm chop.
Yes, but only if you had enough time to partially undress in the middle of a horde. The hat would definitely be more realistic in the kind of situation they are in.

Sure, but I still think she'd need way more material than the hat. Clem might not be able to part with it initially, but she'd def do it to help Sarita. Good idea on how it could get lost! If Sarita gets caught up in the herd after that, Clem'll have to retrieve it somehow, and that'll be difficult.
(Also, wouldn't Clem look even more badass with her hat completely reddened by blood?! Damn...)
It would only slow the bloodflow down wouldnt it? Also I think I heard if you keep it on too long or don't loosen it once and while you can do more damage to the limb because a proper circulation isn't getting through. The only hope Sarita would have to stop her bleeding out is if they cauterise the stump.
it would be difficult.. but if is given to the arm a good and permanent press i think it could work...

if not surely he dies of a bleeding, or from a infecion to the injury...

Why not her jacket? Both Clem and Sarita had a jacket. And a hat would never work...
Slowly the blood flow would be the immediate priority and you would want to clean it and redress it thoroughly after that until it heals. Cauterizing the arm would basically be stopping the blood flow incredibly quickly, which is what I figured the hat could be used for. If only we had Lee and his huge pockets that could carry blowtorches
This is a theory about how the hat could possibly be lost, and whether you would personally use the hat trying to help Sarita. You could also use her jacket as well to stop the blood flow. I'm not saying a hat would be the best first aid for a chopped arm, it is just theoretical.

i was under the impression that you spoke of using Clem's hat as a tourniquet because everyone here always talks about how they dont like her without wearing the hat.
Personally, I think Sarita's screwed either way. If you cut off her arm, she'll die of blood loss. If you don't cut off her arm, she'll have to be put down. There's no winning in this game.
Errr, Clem's hat is cool and all, but it wouldn't make a very good tourniquet. XD Normally I'd say anything is better than nothing, but in this case she's better off trying to staunch the wound with her hands. Theoretical or not, there absolutely no reason to use the hat.
No I wouldn't. Clementine's hat is infused with Lee's blood. I will not risk mixing it with other's blood on the premise I plan on cloning a second Lee.
Most of their shirts have Walker blood though :c
