Am I the only one that feels that this Clementine's story should have been the TV show's counterpart
I feel that Clementine and Lee's story should have been the story of the TV show instead of some mere adaptation of RICK's STORY. I mean, look at how innovative this story is compared to the show! What do you guys think? That way, we wouldn't have purists (like me) complaining about significant parts of the TV show when compared to the comics AND the story would be less predictable.
Edit: Don't get me wrong guys. I prefer to keep this as a game. I'm just saying how much better this story is compared to the show.

I'd rather they stayed in the video game. I don't want to watch Clem and Lee I want to play as them![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Oh yea, I DEFINITELY agree with that. But I just wish the TV show was like this. If it was, I would be watching it right now. Imagine an entire season within Carver's compound!
Nah, Id rather have her story be in the game.
Then you'd get people complaining as to why these new characters were created instead of putting the comic to the screen, which is kind of what the "purists" already do instead of taking it as two different things, although I can understand it considering the TV show is meant to be an actual adaptation as opposed to a completely new story. Still, you know you'd be hearing a lot of that, "why do we have to follow this Clementine girl? I want to see Rick and Carl in a TV show!"
In any case, yeah, you may be the only one since the fact that it's a game where your choices alter the story (even if only in the very short term, usually anyway) watching it on screen just doesn't communicate the same idea. We'd be watching a story that may be great, but lacks the connection we get from playing the characters and determining who they are.
No because the story of Lee and Clementine can only go so far without it turning into another version of the show with just Lee and Clem instead of Rick and Carl in my opinion. And it's a lot better playing as these characters where you can make them however you want.
I agree. Honestly I find Clem and Lee's story much more compelling than Rick's (the TV show, never read the comics though I have wiki'd some things). Not to mention their characters are more unique than Rick's--I found Lee's redemption arc and the BAMF Clem to be so much more interesting. (How many eleven-year-old girls are as kick-ass as Clem?) At its core of course, Rick's plot and the game's plot is the same--a person trying to survive in the ZA while still holding on to their humanity. How much of their humanity are they willing to let go of to stay alive?
From what I've read about the comics, it seems like Carl's plot is similar to Clem's. He's growing up in a cold world, and has the potential to become the next Negan or bad guy. Clem had the same thing going on with Carver! What'll happen when she breaks more, and we make choices we'll regret? Clem still certainly has the potential to become like Carver, no matter how we wish it wasn't so.![:( :(](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Well you know, I have to disagree with you, with all due respect. I see Rick's story arc as the beacon of hope, that humanity hasn't fallen. Rick's arc is the rise from a lone sheriff merely concerned for his family to a man that has the potential bring back humanity and its reason to live other than just surviving. Clem's arc is of a girl who struggles to keep her way like Rick, but currently she is struggling to find the one thing that she misses. Family. Her story is a coming of age while Rick's is a man going through evolution to something more awesome.
Hrm I guess so. That's your opinion. And like I said, I haven't read the comics, so I'm not sure where you're coming from with Rick becoming a "man that has the potential to bring back humanity and its reason to live...." I guess finding a cure, or becoming the leader of a safer settlement? That certainly sounds interesting. Idk I guess I'll have to read the comics.![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I've always had a soft spot for coming-of-age stories. Although Clem is very mature and "of age" already, she certainly can go farther (e.g. killing others to protect her own, etc.). Clem's already lost a lot of loved ones already, so I suppose I get more feels with her story than Rick's individual story. Don't get me wrong; I love the show! And the comics look great too! I just prefer Clem.![:) :)](https://community.telltalegames.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
