You're a character in Amid the Ruins...

For whatever reason, through pure luck or the fiat of God, Telltale emails/calls/texts you and says that you're going to be a new character in Episode 4. And for whatever strange reason, Telltale says that you can choose your backstory, personality, et cetera, as long as it fits with the story (which as we don't know it, we'll just go with the achievements and the trailer). You can choose to VA yourself or get someone else to do it.

So what would your character be like? What would he/she do? How would you fit into the story?

Edit: I meant that you become a character, like Brie Rosenholm did in Season 1

  • I don't really have someone specific, but I'd like to see another old, tough guy like Chuck from Season 1 again. And I'd choose actor Clint Eastwood for his voice actor.

    My character:

a guy that was a professional at karate

he will have a "not taking your shit" attitude.

His weapon would be a big sock with rocks in it and knock people out with it.

    kind of like:

    Alt text

He will have a eye patch like the Gov.

Morgan freemen will do his voice.

  • I would like someone like... Wilson from Castaway.

I'm a character known as "Red Shirt #13"

  • How would I fit in, hmm. Well order of business number 1:

    Then:

But most likely I'd just get killed off between 30 second and 5 minutes after being introduced like every other minor character.

  • I'll be a 20 year old guy (because 2 1/2 years pass, I'll be 17 when it begins). Silent and antisocial, only because of past tragedies, I'm with whoever is in Parker's Run. I choose to stay out of things involving group politics. I believe that it is everyone's duty to wipe out the walkers. I fight with a .308 rifle, a 9mm Parabellum pistol and an axe.

As far as my relationships with people, I'll start warming up when Clem and group comes. I find myself caring for Clem, trying to help her use a rifle, while distrusting Luke at the same time. I'll only talk with Russell (if he stays at the camp), because I would have experiences similar to his.

As far as my fate, I would shoot walker after walker until I run out of ammo. Clem being beside me, I decide to distract the walkers and buy her and the group time. Clem can convince me to come, and depending on how she treats me and whether she sides with Luke or Kenny, I'll either go with her or refuse and die where I stand.

    Status: Determinant

  • Good topic idea! :)

For me, as much as I love Clem, I would love to be an antagonist/villain.

Like, an intelligent but random/crazy guy who you would never know what's in his mind, where his hobby would be to mess up with Clem and the group.

I would be the guy who is literally just in the background getting eaten by walkers while the group just argues.

My name in the credits would be "Guy in the background getting eaten by walkers"

    Name: Parker

    Age: 16

    Hair: Brown

    Height: 5'6

    Ethnicity: White

    Eyes: Blue

Weapons: Metal Baseball Bat, Dessert Eagle from a Millitary Outpost he escaped at the beginning of the outbreak. An AK-47 from the first Walker he killed(A Soldier), and a Survival Knife(Similar to Matthews) he got from the guy who killed his sister.

Backstory: Parker grew up in Roanoke, Virgina. His parents were killed in a car crash when he was 9. He and his younger sister went from Foster home to Foster home for the rest of their non-apocalyptic life. When the outbreak started, they escaped the initial slaughter and headed towards a Millitary Quarantine Zone. When the outpost was overrun he and his sister escaped. He killed his first Walker with a chair and picked up the AK-47 it was in possession of. He also grabbed his Dessert Eagle Pistol and supplies. He and his sister met up with a group and survived. About 8 Months into the outbreak, a group came through their camp and killed everyone. He was forced to watch his little sister get beaten to death. When he finally got free, he murdered all of the bandits with his AK and put his sister out of his misery. He picked up a survival knife from the man who killed his sister and just walked. He was alone for a significant amount of time before finding the group at Parker's Run.

Personality: Although going through many tragic events, on the surface Parker seems OK. He has a great since of humor and is nice. However, when certain situations arise, you see the trauma of his tragedies take it's toll, sometimes in the form of violence.

    Relationships:

Clementine: Because of his little sister, he and Clem will develop a brother-sister relationship.

Kenny: Although starting off as enemies, they become friends later after realizing they have both been through tragic events.

    Luke: Great

Sarita: By the time he meets her she is already dying. She never actually speaks with him.

Sarah: They get along very well. As she becomes hardened after her fathers death they become even better friends.

    Rebecca: Fine

    Bonnie: Great

Nick: They become very good friends

    Christa: Great

    Mike: They respect each other

Jane: Parker agrees with Jane on the survival aspects.

    Russell: Good

    Shel: Great

    Becca: OK

    Vince: Fine

    Wyatt: Great

    Eddie: Thick as Theives

Fate: He will teach Clem some useful skills such as shooting a rifle, Melee combat and more. Regardless of your decisions, he will survive Amid the Ruins.

VA: On one hand I'd like to voice him but I'm afraid I would suck. As for a professional, Ned Luke

  • A guy wearing medieval knight armor with chainsaws attached to his arms :)

  • Not quite :). More like a Sheogorath style : babbling nonsense and doing randoms things that the majority wouldn't do, because of the awkward repercussions, etc.

In that universe, I think I'd like to be a part of Eddie's group if I couldn't join the main one. I'm sorta assuming he'll appear in this episode.

He's kinda cute, and funny too. I'm a lot like Christa, so it'd probably end up being something like Christa and Omid.

The goofy guy and the serious girl!

If we were to meet Clem I'd be concerned about a little girl being in a group that seems to be falling apart, and probably give them shit about it.
I'd think she was some helpless little girl at first glance, but then I'd come to respect and treat her as a valuable member of the group.

Kenny would probably hate me for butting in and questioning their group's capability of protecting Clem. The players wouldn't be too fund of it either, I'd imagine.

  • Rick Grimes.
if they add Rick Grimes to the game i am going to go into "Fan girl" mode.

  • A bit bland, but I'd like to be myself. Shy, benevolent, passive aggressive type of guy that loves to kill zombies. OR be like Tallahassee from Zombieland, ah yes that sounds terrific, with my Hummer, shotgun, and love for twinkies!

  • I like it. Now will you be recording your death scream or would you prefer for someone else to do it? =P

I would be the guy who is literally just in the background getting eaten by walkers while the group just argues. My name in the credits would be "Guy in the background getting eaten by walkers"

  • I will be Luke's 15 year old brother who Clem gets along with but I die in episode 5 (a little after the middle of the episode) because of other survivors my name would be Tony and I would be ALOT like Luke
Once I die Luke would be like how Kenny will be when Sarita dies in episode 4 my brother would b]voice act the character

    My character.
    Name: Jim.

    Age: 44 yrs old.

    Description:
A tall, slender, Caucasian man, with brown hair, a bushy mustache, and a deep voice.
Who's mainly dressed in blue jeans and a black t-shirt and in summer, and jeans, a flannel shirt and brown coat in winter.
Carries a compass, a water canteen, and a small duffle bag.
And as far as footwear, steel-toed workboots.

Weapons: carries a Beretta M9 pistol, a Machete, and a hatchet.

    Personality:
    Gregarious.
Willing to go the extra mile for a friend.
    Hardworking.
    Fast learner.
    Intelligent.
    Protective.
    Disciplined.
    Religious.

    Companions:
Travels with a 6 yr old Golden Retriever, who's 95lbs of muscle.
( Whom he has raised from a pup).

Bio: Was raised on a ranch in Nevada. When he was 20, Jim left home, to work on the oil rigs in Texas, doing so for 7 years.
He then began working as a truck driver, doing so for 8 years.
When the Economy crashed in 2008, Jim lost his job, and later his home at the age of 38.
Forced to live a life on the road, he began traipsing across the east coast, picking up work wherever he could find it.

In 2010, Jim found himself working for the St John dairy, near Macon, his job consisting of running heavy equipment.
He also assisted them in constructing a new and bigger barn.
Jim, being a hard worker by nature, got along well with the St John's, who in turn, ended up treating him like family.

When the outbreak began in 2012, Jim was working in Augusta as a construction worker.
He and his dog made their way towards Macon that fall, but finding it to be a walker infested ghost town, they moved on.
Coming across a encampment filled with high-school kids, they stayed with them for several weeks , until bandits came and attacked the camp.
Though Jim and his dog managed to kill a handful of the bandits, they were inevitably driven off.

Back on the road, the two once again began making their way from place to place, surviving as best as possible.
Over the next two years, they eventually made their way towards North Carolina, where they joined Kenny's group.

    Relationships:

Clementine: Having had a little sister, who died when he was 8, and also having a niece, Jim is fond of Clementine.
He begins showing her a lot of the skills he's gained, both work and survival related, to which Clementine eagerly takes to.
And like most kids, Clementine loves Jim's dog, in spite of being attacked by one sometime back.

Kenny: Having worked for Kenny, before the apocalypse, back during Kenny's fisherman days, the 2 men have a lot of history between them.
Kenny and Jim are good friends, and become co-op leaders of the group.

Luke: Though he sees potential in Luke, he feels that Luke is unreliable.

Nick: Jim likes Nick, and also sees potential in him, but realizes Nick holds himself back, due to a lack of self-confidence.

Rebecca: Since Rebecca is pregnant, Jim shows her extra consideration.
And tries to make her as comfortable as he can.
Though Jim realizes that Rebecca may not survive, he still tries to encourage her to think positively, that she will survive, and live to see her child grown.

Bonnie: Bonnie and Jim had dated before the outbreak.
Their relationship is a bit rocky, especially since Bonnie's drug addiction had caused their breakup.
Though things are tense, they have managed to put aside their differences, and keep their mind focused on the group.

Sarita: Since she is missing her arm, Jim is very concerned for her condition.
He tries to help her as much as possible, even though he knows her chances of survival, unless she receives proper medical attention, is slim.

Jane: To say Jim doesn't trust her, is a gross understatement.
Jim sees her as selfish, due to some comments she's made.

I would definitely voice my own character.
I've always wanted to do voice acting!

  • I'll do myself, but slightly older (taller too) and with another nationality because I don't want to be a Russian immigrant. (so my family's names will change too)

    Name: Sonya

    Nationality: Caucasian-American

    Age: 16

Appearance: a little bit short for her age (about 1.65 cantimetres) and she's kinda uncomfortable of this. Sonya has greenish blue eyes, pale skin and light brown shoulder length hair. She wears grey hoodie and jeans with gumshoes. She has a black backpack with the most important stuff (a bottle of water, a lighter, a flashlight, a can of beans, a warm clothing, a photo of her family). She also carries a simple pistol and acts pretty good with it. Sonya is not that good with melee weapns but she can use them if necessary. Oh, and she's a huge perfectionist!

Personality: very mysterious and secretive girl. She doesn't share her feelings with anyone and it's impossible to tell what's on her mind. Sonya is calm and quiet, she tries to avoid arguments and make everything in a peaceful way. She is intelligent, logical and smart for her age, she can always think of a good plan. She's polite towards everyone, even someone like Carver. Sonya can call a person her friend only if she knows him for a long time (about a year) and if they have a special connection. Until then, she'll still act gently and friendly towards people she know, even though she'll keep her distance. But deep inside she feels very alone because she doesn't have anyone and she might get rid of her high standards about friendship. Sonya is not a trustful person and she'll suspect almost everyone. But you can always trust because she won't leave anyone in trouble. She's kind but still pragmatic. For example, she would probably not kill the girl on the street and steal the supplies. Sonya tries to act and show herself like a lone wolf, but she understands that it's kinda stupid and she's missing being warm and very friendly with someone.

Backstory: she was born and raised in Chicago, America. She had mother Tara, father Andrew and older sister Catherine. Her parents are both pharmacists and have a medical education so Sonya knows something about medicine (especially the first aid). Her older sister was studying in New-York by the start of the apocalypse and Sonya was ready to finish the school and get to study too. She was a very successful student and she wanted to become a biologist in the future. She didn't have a chance to find her parents when all of this started and she doesn''t know the fate of her whole family. She joined the group that was evacuating out of the city. They were travelling together as a team and she even got a friend there. The group heard about Wellington so they started to move up North. Half of the group died on their way there. Sonya liked all these people but after they started dying, she decided to not get attached to anyone (except people she's attached to already) so it won't hurt when they'll die. Sonya and other two people (her friend and the leader of the group) reached the Parker's run and found the main characters there.

    RELATIONSHIP

Clementine: They will probably end up friends. Sonya will be amazed by how mature and strong this girl is so she'll find her twin soul in Clem. They'll both learn new surviavl skills and gat through bad times.

Kenny: Sonya was born and raised in a family with temper, so she knows how to act with such people. She'll keep friendly to Kenny, accepting his plans or not, depending to the situation. If he will get to angry, she'll always try to calm him down and be his still small voice. Sonya will meet him during his hard times so she'll try to cheer him up and sympathize to him. Kenny would appreciate that.

Luke: Luke is acting nice, so I think that Sonya will act nice to him too. She'll appreciate his moral decisions. But yet, she wouldn't trust him a lot. Only after he will do something big for her.

Sarah: Sonya will feel bad to Sarah and try to help her. But however, she gets a little bit annoyed by this type of people, even though she understands why Sarah acts like this. Sonys will probably take care of her but nor get too close or become friends. Just neutral.

Rebecca: At first they won't like eachother because Sonya will find Rebecca rude and always answer here coldly. I think that she'll die during the childbirth and even if their relationship wasn't the best, Sonya will try to help her giving birth and even feel kinda bad when she dies.

Bonnie: Same as Luke - wouldn't trust so much but still be her buddy.

Nick: Sonya would find him embarassing and whiny at first but she'll find a twin soul in him too and I think that they'll end up friends. They woud understand eachother easily.

Christa: Great! They personalities match so Sonya will usually be on Christa's side and respect this woman.

Mike: Probably Sonya will respect this guy. While he's good, she's good then too. Hard to tell becasue we barely know something about Mike.

Jane: As same as Mike - respect. But these talks about "don't let them pull you down with them" will tell Sonya that Jane is probably not a person you can rely on. Sonya will keep an eye on her.

And I wouldn't probably voice myself because it's hard for 12 year old girl to voice 16 year old girl. Not sure who would be my voice actor though.

  • My OC for my fanfictions is basically me.
