Episode 4 will be close to 2 hours long

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

I got this image from @Algieblack it seems it is almost 2 hours long.. Its 97 minutes long which is 1 hour and 37 minutes plus there will be more time before the first achievement. Since i'm assuming there will be 4 - 12 minutes before the first achievement it will draw close to the 1 hour and 50 mark.

Personally i think this is a good thing, some of the playthroughs will most likely be longer potentially getting close to the 2 hour mark.

  • I can live with that. Seems like we will be visiting tons of locations so we might be able to talk to some chracters and maybe reach the 2 hour mark.

  • Now we're talking Telltale. Hopefully there will be exploration hubs too.

  • Why is "Making an observation" out of order?

  • Its not.

  • History lesson is unlocked later though.
    So one of them is out of order.

  • Yes! Episode 3 was 1 hour and 20 minutes for me. So this will be noticeably longer as said before maybe there will be big hubs.

  • Yea I was just about to ask that myself

    Oh, different time of it being unlocked? I have no clue. Thats very weird.

    I'm hoping i didnt post a fake photo and get your hopes up, i did an image search and nothing came up so it seems legit.

  • Cool... thank you telltale :D

  • How did he unlock that?

  • Lucky bastards :(

    How'd they get to play first?

  • Its a steam tester, im guessing.

    Lucky bastards How'd they get to play first?

  • Steam tester.

    How did he unlock that?

  • That's great. I'm excited.

  • They didn't play this game first, they just found a website (Or steam.) for the leaked achievements.

    Lucky bastards How'd they get to play first?

  • This is great news! Maybe more exploration/character interaction this time?

  • Hell yes!

  • Best Laid plans first got playtested on May 6th http://www.exophase.com/trophy/the-walking-dead-season-2-ps3/best-laid-plans/ and episode 4 was playtested over 3 days,so it really does depend on how you play the game,i hope it's 2 hours long.

  • Finally an episode 2 hours long I waited so much for this I hope it's worth the weight.

  • I got 1 hour, 37 minutes from achievement 1 to achievement 8. Probably puts it closer to 1 hour, 40 minutes, maybe 1 hour 45 minutes depending on how long from the beginning to the first achievement is.

    Beginning to Achievement 1 -> (<10 minutes?)

    Achievement 1 to Achievement 2 -> 17 minutes

    Achievement 2 to Achievement 3 -> 19 minutes

    Achievement 3 to Achievement 4 -> 13 minutes

    Achievement 4 to Achievement 5 -> 12 minutes

    Achievement 5 to Achievement 6 -> 19 minutes

    Achievement 6 to Achievement 7 -> 9 minutes

    Achievement 7 to Achievement 8 -> 8 minutes

    Total: 1 hour, 37 minutes (to 1 hour, 47 minutes?)

    Seems most of the interactive events will be in the 17 and 2 19 minute blocks. Potentially hubs could fit into those blocks. Not sure if the 13 and 12 minute blocks would be hubs. Puzzles of some sort maybe? Given the images on the achievements, though, A Heavy Burden will likely concern finding Sarah since it does look like an image of her in the achievement. It'd likely be setup as a puzzle of sorts or be similar to the motel in S1E1. All Fall Down will probably be the walker fight we see Kenny and Mike walk into and Rebecca giving birth in the trailer. That leaves only the second achievement as being a potential hub due to being 17 minutes, but not likely given the group is still scattered (judging from the Sarah image in the next achievement). The other achievements I have no real guesses for. If they're hubs, they're likely short ones.

    Would look like there's a good chance that episode 5 might break 2 hours, though.

  • it seems I did make a miscalculation and it is 97 minutes very sorry for that. The first one may not be a hub, I have a feeling it will be a puzzle potentially getting Sarah out of the trailer without drawing all the walkers. and sadly I doubt the finale will be 2 hours since telltale has done short finales in the past.

    I got 1 hour, 37 minutes from achievement 1 to achievement 8. Probably puts it closer to 1 hour, 40 minutes, maybe 1 hour 45 minutes depend

  • Puzzle box says these playthroughs we can see the times for are usually testing, and they can skip sections or go to ones etc if something isn't working right or whatever.

    So while the times are give a general idea, they aren't certain, and the time discrepancy here demonstrates that well.

  • Oh so that's why the time is like that? So far the time seems to be right on as it was for 'In Sheeps Clothing' and for 'Cry Wolf' so of course some players will have a shorter length than others and some will have a longer length.

  • YES!!! We haven't had a Telltake episode, A TELLTALE EPISODE! ever since episode 1 of The Walking Dead.

  • I'm very sorry about the error it's not 101 minutes it's 97.Thats about 17 minutes longer than episode 3.

  • YYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSS!

  • A heftier episode is exactly what we need. I have a feeling AMID THE RUINS will be looked back on as the highlight of season two.

    Sounds promising.

  • Sick. As much as I did like the previous episodes, one of my problems with them was the short length.

  • If Episode 4 is at or near 2 hour and includes significant hubs, I will be first shocked and then ecstatic. It will mean that someone at Telltale really IS listening to the feedback we're giving them.
