I would definitely read the comics. One thing that I didn't like about the game is that Bigby seems to be portrayed as one step behind always and out of the loop, whereas the comic Bigby knows every little detail about Fabletown. I feel that comic Bigby would have solved and finished this case by episode 3.
If you reread the last bits of 123, I think it is a good indication that Bigby will get back to normal. Willingham could weasel his way out of it, but it would seem a little cheap.

I bought the first collected edition some time back and I wasn't too thrilled. It's very different from the game, mostly because the comic i… mores just...older. Bigby is your typical male main character with a tendency of being just a tad sexist. Like during his very first case he tells Snow to leave the scene and when she flat-out refuses, he tells guy #2 (the blonde one whose name I can never remember) to carry her out if he has to, blatantly disregarding Snow's wishes, not to mention her abilities. Beauty is depicted as a bit of a typical blonde...then again, so is Beast. The only other woman I saw before I stopped reading was Prince Charming's fling of the day, who - naturally - was not able to resist the oh so charming douchebag and immediatly tried to sing her metaphorical claws into him.
Mind you, I don't know if it gets better. And if you don't mind the old-timey sexist attitude, then by all means, pick it up. It ain't my thing, however.
Women really get a chance to shine in this comic. Snow White basically runs everything and does so effectively. She commands loyalty. Beauty gets her time to shine but never outshines Snow White. Rose Red takes care of business. Frau Totenkinder is pure awesome.
The women don't do a lot of the actual fighting, though, so the men still get most of the focus through the many battles in the series. However, I will say that women the women do fight, they don't mess around. Seeing a witch in battle is pretty awesome.

You should read Fairest. Some parts ties into the main story and it's all about the girls, action and all. And the two Cinderella stories as well. Oh and you got to read Fairest - In All the Land too. They're all awesome.

Yeah but I know Bigby is coming back soon due to that flash in the future (and read 142.. omg) but I think Fairest is cool. Plus, my girl Cindy has been the main focus in the last few issues lol.
I thought the story was generally cool and that she could just choose half and all that. I just wish that they could've left Bellflower and Dunster Happ out of it -- no way would that have gone down that easily, even in her weakened state. And it was just a little too convenient of a way of ending the Beast's problem with the marriage negotiations, and basically ending that whole weird Lamia story that was only brought up recently and now quickly discarded.

Yeah I thought so too, with Bellfower and Happ. They only just got together. And I completely agree with you on these aspects. I'm just glad Goldi is gone for good.

He dies temporally and comes back but not as you expect. And yes, Beast becomes the sheriff of Fabletown, but waaaay before anything happens to Bigby, once Bigby retires.

In 122, Bigby's fate is revealed - he is fated to outlive all of his children after dying seven times.
In 123, an adult Ambrose, after narrating the story, tells Lake that he's going to go visit his father, and Lake encourages him because they don't speak as much as they should.
So, Bigby will survive all of this, and he will at some point return to a state where he is able to actually speak to his children.
However, 129 indicates that the family will spend years without Bigby, and I don't know how much time has passed since then.
I mean issues 122 and 123.

I've tried.
Didn't like, because they are not the same characters, they are so diferent!
I really wanted to know what what happend to Bigby x Snow, so i kept reading.
I'm on the hq #75, but honestly, it's so boring sometimes.
The comics don't have the same noir atmosphere that I love in the game.
But is cool to know why bigby smokes so mutch and these kinda of things.
Basically: It's not the same thing, they are not the same characters. For me, anyway.

Bigby and Snow, to me, seem so much better in the comics. Bigby is so much more intelligent and skilled. But he generally has bigger concerns than everyday crime because of the machinations of the Adversary. Snow is definitely more assertive and makes sure to pretty much always get her way.
The stories from the comics are so different from the sort of story told in the game, though. It's all about preserving Fabletown from the forces of the Adversary and great evils of the Homelands.
But I don't know how you can't love Boy Blue, Flycatcher, Prince Charming, Cindarella, and the rest of the colorful cast. They aren't really represented in the game at all except for a weird conversation with Flycatcher that seems against canon. And Frau Totenkinder is just pure awesome.

Since the game is over and we might not get a season 2. I will pick up the comics at some point.
So I read the first five issues and it was definitely awesome returning to Fabletown in some manner

Then what would there be for us to do?
I may have misinterpreted your post, but...Fables is from 2002. I wouldn't call that old.

I was a bit disappointed in Fairest in all the Land. Some characters were just too casually disposed of permanently.
I find I'm hard to read fairest, I think the reason is Bigby
I know right. I'm here thinking, you can't bring 'em all back so you choose wisely.

Perhaps Cindy and Grimble are our only hope now:'(

I know right? Cindy hasn't let me down yet, so I'm rooting for her. I'm just worried about this war coming and that Winter is so badass now
I haven't read the comics but I heard that Bigby dies in the comics and Beast becomes the sheriff of Fabletown. So, did he die?

Yeah, I definitely agree that it's good to see her finally dead after surviving so much bullshit.
Is Grimble still a bird?
Yes,but Cindy found her translate necklace so she already knew what happened
Ah also whats wrong with bigby?
Not as I expect?
We don't know, all we can do is waiting for the 143.
ah it hasn't been explained yet?
No,they didn't show us what did Douglas do to Bigby's ring, if his soul come back ,what's the reason ...
oh thx
Well.. not normal.
He's just a monster now
Not normal huh?.... PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT THAT MEANS :-D
