Truly a sad day for the forums/ Rant thread.

First off, I have been a member of this community for 2 years. I have loved seeing the community grow and see the friendships people have made on the site. It is great.

However, it is people on the thread that discuss spoilers, leak choices, or hack hex files that completely ruin the gameplay, as well as Telltale's amazing story telling abilities.

I was sent the video by a person in a walking dead Facebook fanpage with the embedding somehow turned off. It read as an alternate choice compilation of episode 3. What I saw spoiled the entire episode.

When season 1 was coming to an end, people did not scour the game looking for files, or leak data. They assumed, which lead to an even bigger hype once the episode came out and was ultimately reviewed as excellence. Some people like spoilers, I get it, but PLEASE refrain from posting them in all of the threads/pages/websites. There are other ways to talk about the game without RUINING the experience for other people.

Do not look up anything "amid the ruins" related, because you WILL see things you wish you hadn't. And for the people leaking, you should be ashamed of yourselves.

I find it hard to understand why they hack it I played season 1 fully and it was the best experience ever as you never know what was going to happen next making the story exciting and unpredictable etc spoilers defeats the whole purpose of a story driven game and totally ruins the experience >:(
  • I love spoilers, suck for the rest of you though. Really, it does. I have no idea how it feels to get spoiled because I've always loved hearing spoilers.
  • I completely agree, I also assume this is why Season 2 has not earned as big of a following as Season 1 had. People need to focus on the story and less on leaks.

  • And I respect that. So long as you are not a part of the problem and discussing them in a public thread/sending them to others/leaking, then you're ok in my book! I just don't get how people like that sort of thing...

  • Thank you Blind Sniper.

We are promised non-spoilery (unless indicated by a spoiler mark tag) chat here in the forums. Multiple pinned threads have indicated NOT to talk about episode leaks or hex leaks. It is a universal rule that applies to all threads.

Actually, no, it's not their fault if the Episode story is leaked prior to the release date.

  • Yeah, I remember when the milions of threads about the ITYWD (I thought you were dead!) person, and all of them had great theories, but then someone dug up the Kenny 202, it ruined all the fun of it. Now you can't even access the main page without seing threads with spoilery names or spoilers in other theory threads.
  • They don't visit here to view spoilers, people come to these forums because they want to discuss the game with other people who love it. This isn't SpoilTheDead.com for the game, it's a place for discussion. Some titles of threads that contained the leaked information were also purposely misleading, and some people had no idea that they would be clicking on a thread with spoilers in it until it was too late.

You cannot game hack then share game files it is against the forum rules full stop
  • Hex hackers have taken the fun out of speculation. That's what made it so fun to wonder who it was on Clem's radio in Season 1, people actually gave thought and had a great time doing it.

  • Everyone knows that the people who leak don't care if someone doesn't want to see it. What others and I are trying to say is that the fault lies with the people who leak the information, not the people who come to these forums with no intention of seeing spoilers.

Alright guys, let's cut it out with the insults from here on out. Good? Good.

I removed all the posts with insults, so let's not drag this out any longer.

Actually... Focusing on the story is what made me disinterested. I am personally not of the group that likes Kenny, so being forced to like him infuriated me to the point of leaving this place. Hell, the only reason I'm here now is because I know about the leaks, and wanted to see if this place blew up (which it seemingly did), and the only reason I kept up with Walking Dead news is because it's kind of a big thing on the other forum.

Regardless, the characters are weaker, the story is generally weaker, and it just gets boring from my perspective. I only felt bored in Season 1 twice. Once when I was going down the checklist that is the train puzzle in episode 3, and Crawford, because it was more like a point/click game, which I'm not particularly fond of. In this season, especially in episode 3, I'm bored for the most part. I think Telltale needs to focus more on the story, and less on Kenny. Kenny unnecessarily stole the show, which really ruined it for me.

Too bad my opinions are invalid for some reason. I know I'm gonna have a million downvotes, and someone yelling at me in a response.

  • A very valid point. I feel like if Kenny's fate had not been leaked to the public, there would be less hype surrounding him. People only jumped on the Kenny bandwagon after someone pulled the 202 files. If it were up to sheer speculation, I feel like the story for the remainder of the season would've been alot stronger.

Discussing things with other forum members is a great way to get to know the community, and allows you to use your imagination and not rely solely on others to do it for you.

  • I think his appearance in 202 was tasteless, but acceptable. In 203, however, it became part of an unforgivable problem. The removal of the illusion of choice. Being someone who has seen the spoilers (don't worry, I won't spoil you), I can say there is 1 new scene I like him in, but it doesn't fix everything else.

  • Well it's the faceless disapproval of the community that bugs me. It feels too harsh, mostly because it's wordless. Anyways, before the spoilers, nobody treated me like my opinions were valid, I can say that much. People thought I was either a troll, or they just made fun of my opinions.

  • Ah. I haven't seen any spoilers so I don't know what I'm gonna run in to.

I respect your opinion on Season 2 and I kind of agree with it. There is not as much character development and the choices aren't as important. But I'd still like to see what happens and how the story ends ad plays out.
