Telltale: Please, go slower!
This post applies to the second season of Walking Dead.
There may be a low chance that Telltale reads this, but regardless, I hope it may reach them. The thing is: Telltale needs to slow down in order to reach again the potential of the first season of Walking Dead.
Season 2 is NOT weaker in terms of plot or characters. Both have strong arcs and are interesting on their own - but it is impossible to unlock their potential or to connect to them at such rapid pace! The most touching and fullfilling moments in first season were during downtime, like distributing food or teaching Clementine how to take care of herself.
One needs such domestic, non-threatening activities in order to contrast the high-adrenaline danger. Without contrast, the zombie fights and the constant agression become meaningless background noise.
We never interacted with the group outside of high-tension situations and therefore it is very hard to grow attached to them. If we had played checkers with Sarah and told stories about our childhood, we would have been friends instead of strangers. If Nick and Clem stitched fences together and made jokes, somebody might have cared about his death. If Rebecca tried to soothe Clem after a nightmare, her demise would have hurt harder
Instead they all remained strangers. Food for the zombies and to be buried under the rushed through plot.
This is a problem! Relationships are the most precious investment in the Walking Dead and it hurts to see it squandered. While the plans for the fifth episode are most likely sealed, I hope to see improvements in the third season.
Please Telltale; Slow down in order not to leave your players behind.

we don't have time to interact. Everyting was action packed
And there will be a third season?
I cared about Nick's death, he became my favorite character after episode 2, he actually became one of my favorites in the series, but his death in episode 4 was terrible. Just put his walker right there! Terrible.
wouldn't you say in this universe anything can happen? No one is safe in TWD
Yeah but, it was the way it was handled that I didn't like. Every character in this game has gotten a better send off than him. I know he was going to die, but the way he did just wasn't emotional at all. But I respect your opinion.
