...So ---- was just a clone of -----?

Why was Jane just a clone of Molly?

Seriously, everything is identical with them. Hostile to the group at first, mysterious at first, protective of Clementine, a loner, a joker when appropriate, emotionally scarred over a family member, teaching someone fighting moves, both leaving for no reason other than plot convenience at the end of the Episode. The real kicker? Both characters were in the fourth Episode of both seasons.

Seriously Telltale, I liked the episode, but you couldn't develop Jane any more than that? You just had to carbon-copy Molly?

  • I saw multiple ties to both season 1 and 2's episode 4, but none were as apparent as the Molly/Jane one to me.

Also it was evident that both characters did it with guys whose names both started with the letter "L"...

  • at this point i would like to believe those stupid molly is jane theories lol

  • Mike reminded me of Omid. And Kenny, well...

    reminded me of Kenny.

I had been thinking the exact same thing.

  • Well at least they emphasized the sister-part of her character, and how she cared for Clem. As a female close to my sisters, I appreciated that aspect of their relationship being explored. Molly was also very protective of her sister, but at least we got to see the dynamic rather than just hear about it.

  • Kenny was such a Kenny this episode. I almost believed the theories that he might be Kenny.

  • I really wanted to fight against this but no. Yeah. She was Molly Redux. Although Molly was more likable, in my opinion. At least Molly fought to the end to keep her sister safe, no matter what.

  • To put it simply, yes. And I saw it a mile away.

I think she has a bigger likelihood of returning next episode. Especially if it's true that she stole Arvo's medicine (if you didn't steal from him first). But I'm not holding my breath.

  • I thought it was fine that she had Molly vibes in episode 3, but yeah, this episode really confirmed that she is essentially a slightly harsher repaint. I mean, I liked her a lot, but yeah, they could've made them a bit more distinct.

I liked Jane a lot more than Molly who's basically my least liked character in the series. The big reason for that is unlike Jane, you never really saw Molly get her hands unclean or doing any actual survivalist stuff that makes her seem like a survivalist loner type character. She only helps and is just generally awesome with it seeming like the writers only writing her as "awesome" and giving her a standard sob story to get her to show a moment of weakness.

Jane on the other hand encourages you to make decisions that show just how heartless a person needs to be to make choices like the ones she encourages you to do. She's shown to have some regrets making them, but she makes it clear she'd make them again. She also had some good dialogue with Rebecca and others that show other flaws she has. That's not to mention her backstory's much better. With Molly, everyone's basically had some version of the same story where they've failed to save their sibling/friend/etc. With Jane, there just wasn't anything she could do to save her sister because her sister decided she had given up which is much more tragic to me.

  • It's done on purpose to make her inevitable episode five return that much more powerful. She isn't going to go away like Molly did.

Well, Molly traded sexual favors to save her sister.. then got double-crossed. She was raped. She's traumatized and doesn't trust anyone because of rape trauma syndrome.

Jane, she did it with Luke simply because sex releases stress. She tried hard saving her sister and gave up on her causing extreme pessimism when shit hits the fan. Besides, she seems harsher then Molly.

There are similarities, but they aren't carbon copies. It's ridiculous to say that.

  • guys a big prediction i think in epi 5 Jane gonna come out of nowhere and kill the guy who shot Luke yes Luke gets shot cause hes like rebbeca no at the end of epi 4

  • And also she has a younger sister like Molly, molly's and jane's sisters are both death...
