Polygon Review for S2EP4

"This formula has done Telltale well in the past, but something is off in "Amid the Ruins." The normally brilliant characterization and writing of the series is less consistent. The plodding arc of the episode feels as exhausted and hopeless as the ragged band of main characters. Even compared to Season 2's weak start, this episode stands alone as a tired, disappointing stumble for The Walking Dead."

"EPISODE 4 IS A STEP BACK FOR THE SEASON AND THE SERIES"

Tired, disappointing stumble, step back, are not words you want said in a review.

I liked the episode quite a bit, actually. I'm just kind of annoyed by the fact that we've only got one episode left, yet this season is still riddled with many of the same problems it had when it began.

Okay spamming wasn't the right word sorry. I'm just getting a bit tired of your threads "complaining" about season 2 in general.

If I were you I'd just disregard those threads. Don't worry about what other people say! You're completely justified in liking the episode.

I know I'm mostly complaining about it tonight, but there were plenty of things I loved about Episode 4. Firstly, Mike and Bonnie really stepped up and kicked some ass here. I particularly enjoyed the trio of Clem, Mike, and Bonnie. They made a fun team, I hope to see more of that in the future. Also, I have to give TTG some major props for the character development in this episode.

I like how they humanized Luke and Jane especially; I like how we see that Luke isn't perfect, and Jane isn't heartless. Very nicely done. I also really liked the moments with Clem and Jane alone. They have good chemistry, and Jane actually turned out to be a really good character, I was very pleasantly surprised.

  • Nice, you managed to pull out the one mixed review you could find, against the 10+ positive ones.

  • Please stop trying to claim people are idiots for not liking the episode. It's annoying.

  • Then stop responding to everything I post. Plus I never called anyone an idiot. Cynical yes, but not an idiot.
