Current walking dead community...

sigh anybody else remember when this was a fun positive place where people would share some laughs? I do I miss those days, now its just filled with negativity about "oh these episodes are so short and season 2 sucks." Why can't we just enjoy it for what it is and get along. Now I know everyone has an opinion but some of the complaints and negativity are just ridiculous.

Can't we just be positive and please get along.

  • Yea, I haven't been here long I see how much negativity there is about Season 2. If you don't like the game, don't play it. Unless you bought the season pass that is.

  • Ultimately this forum is the forum of a company selling a product, and that means there will be negativity. People spent money on the game and as such they will voice their complaints when they have them.

  • Why can't we just enjoy it for what it is and get along.

Because that means you'll eat whatever shit they throw at you.

Im really proud of the community today. It took people a while to notice the crap that episode 3 brought to the game but it's release day for episode 4 and people have woken up. Fuck yeah

  • Yea I know. At least I feel like I got my money's worth. Everyone has their own opinions about season 2

  • I feel somewhat offended since i enjoyed the episodes of Season 2.

Does that mean i'm sleeping? That i'm too dumb to realise the flaws that the others have?

    No, it's called an opinion.

  • In the end, this season is a very mixed bag.

There are ALOT of flaws in it. Some people ignore them and love the game, others notice them and get annoyed and frustrated with Telltale's writing.

  • Well, this is the place to discuss the game, be it commending the positives or criticizing the negatives. That said, and being one of the people criticizing tonight, it gets... I don't know. I'd just call it overall sad. However I don't, I can't, take back anything I have said.

  • I think the thread is still filled with fun and positivity, just read some great comments...

  • Guess what, I've enjoyed the episodes too, i had my own fun while playing them. Did i have the same fun i had in season 1? no , does every episode leave me satisfied like episodes in season 1 did? no, because I can notice all the flaws this game has and i'm not the kind of person who settles down for mediocrity, knowing full well that Telltale has done much better.

You acknowledge the season has a lot of flaws in that post right above me

Sorry but i don't like deluding myself in order to enjoy something.

It's not about the money at all. It's about the fact that I've been with this game for almost two years now and I want it to continue the magic it started with Season 1.

OP: if you're enjoying this Season, by all means continue doing so. You have every right to express your love for it, just as I have every right to talk about my problems with it. And I don't do this because I'm a negative person who can't enjoy anything, I do it because I love TWDG more than any other video game I've ever played, and I want it to stay that way.

I love discussing the game with other forum members here. It's fun, especially in a game like this where there's always so much to talk about. You say that you're turned off by what you perceive to be constant negativity, but your ideal of constant positivity is just as absurd. Everyone has a different opinion on this game, this season, and these last four episodes. There is no unanimous hatred of it, and there should never be a unanimous worshiping of it, either. Otherwise, what would there be to talk about?

Long story short, I love this game. That's why I criticize it. If I didn't love this game then I wouldn't even bother talking about it with you guys. I've said this several times before.

Having been in this community a really long time I have to agree, part of me is even looking forward to Season Two ending so all these cynical users will move on from the forum. Heck even Jurassic Park didn't have this much of a mixed bag here. And that amazes me since Jurassic Park for the most part fell very, very flat. I'll probably get a few downvotes for saying this, but I think the community has become more annoying than the problems Season Two actually has. But I get it, the community is more than 20 times larger now than it was back in the Sam & Max era. So something like that is to be expected. Still though, the community was nicer back then and gave feedback in a constructive manner, now people just complain and are really, REALLY nitpicky at times. Heck there's still times to this day that I cannot believe this is Telltale's community, it's changed drastically.

But I do get it, I know some users actually have concerns for Season Two. And they have a right to, it could've been better. But I just find the large amount of hatred this Season has got as undeserving.

  • You hit the nail on the head. Thats what im saying is I get everyone has an opinion and some don't like this season but I think they are being way to cynical.

  • everybody feels like their opinion is so important, just check the forum here, you'll find plenty of posts with "my opinion" or "in my opinion".

  • Guys, maybe the community changed. But there are people like me who created an account after playing episode 4. There are lots of Players out there and they´re coming to tell what they have at heart. We paid for a product worth less then its predecessor. But thats not the real reason. To be honest; We felt feelings about the characters of Walking Dead 1 and now everything feels like a lame brew spiced with more mdk/senseless Violence meaning so much less. One valuable moment is not enough. Not after Walking Dead 1

And just to say. I dont see much interest from the responsibles or their employees.

  • If you were here since the beginning you would be even more pissed

  • Yea, this forum is not that fun anymore. I miss those good ol' days when i created a account in here. But yea nothing lasts for forever.

  • Ah man I love when episodes come out I can always expect these "You guys can't Criticize Telltale" Threads ain't it beautiful?

  • the current walking dead community is annoying as fuck
I mean of course some complaints are ok (even necessary so that Telltale can improve their work)
But there is nothing but whining on these forums (the reddit one's for this game are much better I assure you)

  • I have to agree with you

  • "Remember these days..." Oh, how I love these threads... I still remember the days of the old forum. You've been here like, 6 months or so, and you already go around saying "Remember what this place used to be?". How about we ask people who were around at least a year ago? I seriously want to hear their opinion about this. They would sure as hell describe how this place used to be.

  • When a game company becomes mainstream, it brings with it a mainstream audience. Figures.

  • Up until now everytime an episode from season 2 was released there were several differents threads about how it sucked and could have been done better. And it always shocks me because I loved every second of every episode and I love this season. I love this community and I think it's one of the best out there, I always enjoy reading all the comments and there are some great people here, but the negativity has really become a real problem for me. It feels like most of the time people say negative things just for the sake of it and it's annoying. We should be glad that we have such a wonderful well written game (it's so rare nowadays) and we should encourage Telltale to continue working on this game for many other seasons, bashing every episode as soon as it's out won't help achieve that.

Problem is that the complainers probably won't move on and even if they do, they'll probably just be replaced. This place won't change.

And the people who say they won't buy the next season or another Telltale game? You can bet they will. Or they'll still be here, complaining, even if they haven't played/bought the games as they said they would.(Would it surprise anyone if people look back fondly on season 2 if season 3 is made? Or is it just me that wouldn't be surprised?)

I remember being on the bioware forums when Dragon Age 2 was released. One person sounded like they didn't approve of anything Bioware did. What did I find when I returned to the forum when Mass Effect 3 was released? The same person still complaining and saying reviews were bought, amongst all of the other commplaints you can think of that people can come up with.

  • Thanks dude, I mean it's fine giving Telltale games feedback, but 90% of these comments are just angry people insulting shit which is not gonna help anything. Plus the feedback people are giving Telltale don't rly concern me, I'm gonna rather theorize on reddit :)

  • If they make a season three, then I'm going to buy each episode individually. That way I feel like Telltale doesn't owe me as much I feel like they do now.

  • i kinda loved it back in january 2014 a lot of excitement about EPISODE 2 and the meme thread being highly active

  • Yea me too I'll do that or just wait for all the episodes to be released but i ain't buying no goddamn Season Pass.

  • I wouldn't call it deluding.
Stuff like Nick's death, yeah they suck. But the whole labor scene was so well done, that it didn't matter to me.

Something that is bothering me are the choices, the illusion is getting ridiculous as we go on, to the point where major choices change only very small dialogue. But i still think this is the best episode of the Season purely for what it was, not for what it could be.

My point is, the game had and still has some issues that weren't present in Season 1. But it has so much to offer as well, the action is better, the graphics are better, the pacing is diferent, the characters are being developed in a diferent way now, not trough hubs but trough actions. The game got really intense sometimes, something i didn't feel that much in season 1.

So as i've stated before, it's not like we ignore the flaws, but we focus on the good things, not the bad ones.
