This episode basically sucked

Besides the fact that I'm pretty sure it was the shortest one yet, at least in season 1 they waited til the last episode to declare "haha! None of your choices actually mattered! Ham-fisted message about fatalism", but what the hell? Being nice to Jane doesn't make her stay regardless of anything, saving Sarah is completely irrelevant (and I assume Jane still lives anyway even if you don't "grab her hand" during the 'choice' scene), suddenly Luke is irresponsible as hell (he's been the only level headed one this whole time, the fuck changed?)... ugh. And Kenny's STILL alive - WHY? Such a waste of time, that guy.

The only way to recover from this plot in one episode (which is all they have left, unless they pull some BS "CONTINUED IN SEASON 3" crap) is if the ending results in Clementine choosing between the group and Jane. Also, it'd be nice if my Lee's "Stay out of groups" line to Clementine at his end actually friggin mattered, wouldn't it? Was pretty sure she was listening to him :/.

But oh, we've got evil immigrants to face now, so who cares about plot! Seriously, is this COD? Bah.

  • Kenny may have died at the end?

  • I have to agree with that. This episode whas very short. And I also think that it sucked that the choises u made didnt' even matter.
1 thing that bothers me allot is that I didn't even see the trailer for episode 5. I need to know what to expect from the next episode !
Btw, sorry for my bad english

  • I sincerely doubt it. It would be nice to dream, but no.

  • Eh, I don't like the trailers in these games, just like I never watch the "next time" things in TV shows. Besides, in this case, it'd be giving away who survives.

  • We can't know for sure. I coud be that luke died. Or bonnie. We don't know.
That's why we need a trailer from episode 5.

  • It's definitely shorter than episode 2, but that one felt crazy long.

It took me nearly 2 hours to complete the episode

  • I don't really agree. It was a strong episode, but it just had some whacked out pacing, and there was too much going on. I sort of got a "wow, now I kind of feel bad for telling them to hurry up on the forums" thought in my head because it seemed like everything just wasn't as fleshed out as it could've been, despite there being a lot of promise. If this were an essay, then I'd give it a B-, and tell the writer to write up another draft. It was almost very good, but it lacked polish.

  • What the fak are you talking about? It was about two hours for me.

The only thing I couldn't get behind was the way Nick died, off screen? We find him as a zombie, no emotional payoff whatsoever? My favorite character and he doesn't get a single line to make his death meaningful? At least let us find him dying and not a zombie. Worst send off ever, everyone else in comparison had a great send off.

  • I have to go back and play it again, but who was the guy with all the tatts aiming at? That's your answer as to who dies. Cause I'm pretty sure he was the one that opened fire first.

  • Well you got to tear his head into pieces.

  • Length wasn't the issue actually it was fine, the issue was that your choices means jackshit and it was sad to see that relations Telltale developed in previous episodes looked so bleak in this one and you are hapless about it, cant do shit. Whatever you do you get same responses.

  • This episode was "very short"? Wha.

  • This one actually felt the longest to me.. It was 1 hour and 40... one of the longest we have had so far in season 2..

Did your choices matter in Season 1 though? I feel like to some extent the adventure game format could be limiting and linear since you're going through the same thing each time. In season 1 you did get quite a different experience choosing one character over another but I can't think of much else.

I figure the point of the games are narratives and trying to build character development through your choices, reactions, and the world's reaction to your choices. Watching a scumbag Lee() Playthrough shows you can build a polar opposite character to what most people imagine Lee to be. The thing is I don't know if Season 2's narrative and character development feels as powerful and compelling and there's less hubs where you can explore and observe the world and talk to characters.

  • What ticked me off about it is it was clearly "Nick is alive? Yes: Insert nick_zombie. No: Insert generic_zombie"

  • Yeah this really pissed me off, since when Nick was down in the dumps I did everything I could to save him, as I really enjoyed his character. Seems like since saving him was a detrimental decision, Telltale just wanted to be rid of him asap so they wouldn't have him in episode 5.

  • One word. Hubs.

  • If you honestly think that makes this cod then I feel sorry for you

Your choices change clem and how people perseve her same with lee in season 1 you control the character and the part they play in the story not the story itself which is why we all mostly end up getting the same overall story.
Plus i loved this episode not disappointed at all

  • Who he is aiming at dont mean a thing maybe he got shot himself before firing a shot we dont know

  • Atleast it was something like Season 1 you didn't just talk for 2 minutes then bam shit happens Q-Q-Q-Q you could explore and stuff. Yeah the episode had it flaws like the deaths were horribly shit but atleast the gameplay was good.

If you honestly think that makes this cod then I feel sorry for you

  • No, he definitely shot. When the bullets are flying, it's zoomed in on him and you can see his gun recoil

  • Still it dont prove any one person is dead the way kenny tryed to save ya man cant remember his name in the first season surrounded by zombies not way out but somehow he survives im not saying no one dies or at least gets shot but there is no way to predict who its basiically random at this point.

  • Think about it. From the Russians perspective, he was most likely to fire, so they needed to get rid of him.

  • What? this episode didn't suck.

infact it was my favourite episode this season it felt like we were playing season one again in many part, lots of hubs, character development, character equalization, good puzzles and badass raccoons. Just because there was a crappy death doesn't mean the entire episode sucks. I didn't think saving Sarah was irrelevant if you save Sarah and talk to her you pretty much find out that she's lost it and thinks Carlos is still alive. At that moment I knew she wasn't making it past episode 4.

  • Yeah.. It was under 90 minutes for me and that's including when I had to pause the game for a bit. Hopefully the last episode is going to be lengthy, we can only hope.

  • For me it was the best episode of Season 2.

  • But oh, we've got evil immigrants to face now, so who cares about plot! Seriously, is this COD? Bah

Have you lived in the united states? There are populations of different cultures everywhere. I grew up in a Italian Community, ten miles down the road there was a community of Polish Americans. Don't be ignorant.

  • Oh for fucks sake, are people ever going to stop bitching at slight things? Length was good this time around. Took me about 2 hours to complete. I agree on the part with Sarah and Nick though. As for the Russians, it was a bit weird to have them around, but seriously, you're going to nit pick on that shit too?.
