Did they change the story cause Michael Madsen was too expensive a voice actor?

edited July 2014 in The Walking Dead

With all this conjecture about episode 4 feeling rushed and that the slides for the episode indicated a different plot line where Carver survived as the main antagonist for the rest of the season, do you think having Mark Madsen as the big-name voice actor for Carver was reason for writing him out of the script? Assuming he would command a much higher salary than other non-Hollywood types that is...

  • I don't think so.

  • It is a possibility. They should've gotten Edward Norton. That guy would've done it for a sane fee and played the games too.

  • I think that when they signed him to do this voice they knew exactly how much he's gonna cost and if they can afford to have him. So no, I don't think so.

  • *Michael Madsen, not Mark Madsen.

But maybe. I could see that happening since he's a more professional guy than many of the other VA's, but it also could have seriously been for the sake of the plot.

  • you would hope not, it doesn't seem like a wise business decision to over spend on a celebrity when the first season did perfectly fine without them, plus it's not like telltale are making call of duty which can spend millions of moneys on advertising and kevin spacey and sell the game at £35 forever, the walking dead is a cheap game made by a much smaller company.

hopefully he had a reasonable wage and was always intended to last as long as he did

  • Ugh yeah, sorry my NBA basketball background got in the way :o

  • I don't think they changed the story because of that, but that might be the reason of why Carver had only 2 episodes

  • Who's Mark Madsen?
