I think Kenny is a lot better now

I was worried about Kenny most of us were but now he's got the baby so I think he'll fine. I mean did you see how happy he was holding it? Great stuff.

  • Yea that baby probably reminds him of when duck was born...Its the only thing keeping him together at the moment.

  • Sigh

Yes Kenny's clearly better. The way he over ares about that baby and treated as his own and refusing to let it's mother rest isn't worrying at all.

    He's essentially god.

  • When he's dying horribly he'll be fine.

  • Yeah he seemed to get himself back on track its a bit annoying but how him and luke bicker non stop like school girls about everything though

What's wrong with him being attached to the baby? There are a lot of things you can blame him for, but this isn't one of them. And given the circumstances, I'd say leaving that place was the best idea.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but you can propose to rest there and the group will listen.

  • The baby is grounding him for the moment but he also started hyperfocusing on it the minute it was born, and acting like it was his. I don't think it's going to do any wonders for his rationality. His issues are too deap-seated to truly be mended at this point and if something happens to the baby then he's done, he's going to cease to function or spiral off into crazy town.

  • Woah I'm guessing you hate Kenny. I'm not a fanboy just making a post about him. No need for the sarcasm.

  • I hope not. Kenny seems to be getting it together now.

  • He has the baby and there's nothing to worry about???

  • That right there is why the thought of him having the baby worries me. Kenny is not rational and has been spiraling out of control for awhile.

  • No there's still lots to worry about but you can tell the baby is helping him emotionally at least.

Can you be more specific? I don't remember an instance where Rebecca outright stated she doesn't approve with Kenny being near the baby. He was simply attached to him and gave him some peace, emotionally at least.

Most likely it also reminded him of Duck. It most certainly wouldn't be the first time he felt that way.

  • He's better than he was before. I'm not saying he's completely outta the water but he's getting there.

If Kenny's mental stability relies on a baby in a zombie apocalypse........I laugh at someone saying he is "ok" or "better".

  • I don't think Kenny is getting better, in fact I think it's the opposite.

He's not the dad, and yet he clinging onto the baby as if it's his and ignores Rebecca's plea to have her baby once. I wouldn't be surprised if, lets say the baby survived the EP4 finale, he argues that he has the right to name the child because he helped deliver it, and start naming Rebecca's son 'Duck Jr.'.

It's implied that he's hoping to replace Duck with Clementine, and now it's looking like he's replacing Duck with the new-born baby that's not his.

  • Kenny's more stable when he's having someone else depend on him. He rises to the occasion. When he has no one to help, that's when he just breaks down. That's why I kept trying to make choices to put him in a 'leadership' role. It's where he's most stable and able to function. That's why the baby is a good thing for Kenny - the baby needs to be dependent on others.

Kenny realizes Clem does NOT need to depend on Kenny. To quote him - "You're more capable than any three ADULTS I've ever seen. But thanks for saying that." whereas when you say 'Rebecca needs you, the baby needs you' he forces himself to get back together again.

If Kenny's mental stability relies on a baby in a zombie apocalypse........I laugh at someone saying he is "ok" or "better".

  • Yea it isn't his baby but who do they give it to? Luke could because he knew Rebecca pretty well but he's kinda young so maybe not. He'll the whole group will probably end up raising it.

  • Yea this is gonna help him a lot

  • It's not that he relies on a baby. He relies on having someone else relying on him. It gives him a purpose to keep living.

"I have to keep going on <for Clem, for Sarita, for the baby, to get the group out of Carver's stronghold and to safety, to get the group to Wellington, to get the group to a boat>.

That's actually pretty understandable. People need a purpose in life. Especially when everything else has gone down the crapper. Kenny's purpose in life is to protect other people who he feels can't protect themselves.

  • Kenny is definitely still breaking, like Bonnie said: "He's not okay...". He was literally beating that walker, and it's pretty obvious he was looking at it as Carver, and reliving the pleasure he felt when he beat him to death with the same crowbar. His obsession with the baby is creepy, I get that everyone was happy with the birth, but he keeps on trying to take him away from Rebecca even when she says no, because he's trying to have a Duck 2.0. I like Kenny, I really do, but it's obvious he's cracking.

  • I dont get why people like him hes either angry or sad all the time, I get more pleasure out from Jane or Mike which have funny lines and are not so depressing.

  • For me, Kenny is lost, but I don't think that makes him a bad character. He's written well and he's interesting to interact with. I just don't see the way I've built Clementine's psychosis and attitudes where she will see him as a caretaker, mentor, or even a friend anymore. He will be another guy in the group that she's been travelling with for awhile now. Kenny's still got a good heart and his fall when it comes is going to be great writing.

  • While hes well written and realistic, I find interaction with him a real chore, whatever you choose to do with Sarita hes angry at you, pretty much everything he does seems creepy, either his obsession with the baby or the way he was beating those walkers, Its just kinda depressing, I enjoy scenes that are tense like first meeting Carver in ep2 or that raccoon scene in ep4, I felt no joy when he was theatening Clem with a gun in his hand.
