Robbing People
First question: I took the meds - are there any real negative consequences if you didn't? Rebecca goes all Rush Limbaugh on the Oxycontin, but other than that does it change anything?
Also, when Kenny got pissed because you robbed them meds, I really wanted to turn to him and say "Ahem, may I remind you of a certain station wagon that got a certain stranger's family killed and had him go all psycho stalker on us? There was somebody who wanted to take his stuff... Gee, I really can't remember who that is... glare"

I don't think there are any differences whether you steal or not.
On an unrelated note, I also wanted to remind Kenny about Larry after he started bitching when I killed Sarita.
i took the meds too... in that situation, I thought like "survivalist", not like "human"....
And then, however, we were right! Arvo didn't have a sick sister, but is only a terrorist... lol
I don't think there are a lot of consequences, idk...
The scene at the end doesn't change too much if you didn't steal, Arvo will still say Clementine stole his meds.
One of the things that piss me off about this game is that the characters force you sometimes to make choices that at the end they feel bad about it. It happened at the 400 days and now on this chapter.
If you don't take the meds Jane would probably be piss off , but if you do (like I did) She felts real bad about that, and of course it happens that thing with the russians.
That decision was such bullshit I didn't take his meds partly because of what happened in s1 & partly because if he did have a sick sis & I caused her death that would be disgusting but the rat faced fucker still accuses me and holds my group up with his punk friends? What's the point of letting me choose whether to take it or not if the outcomes exactly the same
As pointed out in other posts, e.g. www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/76804/question-about-a/ Jane still keeps his gun. So technically the word 'stealing' still applies. Though it's probably not so bad as stealing the medicine.
I never checked, but can you just wait it out? Like, wait for him to leave? He looked like he was trying to shove the bag of meds into the trash bin.
I took the meds. I keep making harsh decisions that are correct for survival. I feel like my Clem is slowing turning into a Carol. Hopfully the baby will never have to look at the flowers!
Yeah but I told him that it was Jane not any of us but he didn't care
I looked at him and waited a few seconds. Although it's not enough time, the animations repeat. So I don't think, that waiting is an option in this case.
Ohh, I see. Thanks for telling me.
No waiting is in fact an option. It took a little while but I waited. But then he just turns around and sees Clem and the scene starts as normal.
Why did Jane not kill Arvo?
This wasn't like the station wagon, which was left open and full of supplies in the middle of the woods with no one around. This was you taking medical supplies from another survivor while he begged you not to do it. This is you victimizing someone in the same way that Michelle victimized Clem at the beginning of Episode 1. Clem is neither a bandit nor a bully. I refused to take the supplies.
Arvo was a junkie that was stealing the meds from his own group. If you let him keep the meds, he'll lie and tell his own group you stole them anyway as a cover for his own betrayal.
Its better to just have Clem take the meds.
I think Kenny would've said something like
''That was different! You knew the sonuvabitch was alive!''
Just give me right about that
Never mind if is another survivor or is a boy, a old man, an adult... Is just, survive!! Survive and survive!! And, for survive, you must do also bad things....
I took medicines.
I just gave it back I thought Clementine would have done it, when Sarah was in danger do you remember in S1 EP4 ''We don't leave friends behind!''
Interesting theory - what's your proof? I know Oxycontin is very addictive and Arvo is injured (possibly prescribed painkillers and got addicted to them). But if he was a junkie why would he try to throw them out?
I don't think he was throwing out the meds. I think he was looking for a hiding spot to keep his stash, where they'd be 'safe' from the group he stole them from. After running into Clem and Jane he just uses them as his excuse for the missing meds, and pins the disappearance of the medication on them even if Clem returns them.
Consider that he was hiding the medication in a remote location away from wherever his group as located. Why would they want to stash their medication away from their camp site? That by itself is suspicious. Its like hiding your weapons or food or water away from the group. I think Jane hit the nail on the head when she said she thought he was a junkie.
I only said "we don't rob people" out of fear that it could backfire on the group (which it did anyway). My Clementine while as cynical as ever was just like: "Yeah we dont want to make more enemies" in my head.
I did it [In unison] for the good of the group. It would've been cruel, but the best way to proceed after doing that was to silence a potential future threat.
Seriously, it would've been completely in character. I even asked her about it afterwards because I knew it would come back to bite us in the ass like the dude in 400 Days.
This is a really cool theory, hoping there's some truth to this as it makes plenty of sense. Though I wonder if we'll really see it after that mexican standoff in the finale...
Ohh, I see. Then there's no way to actually avoid him. Thanks for the clarification.
Oh god, why was this not an option?
I don't think there's much difference. Apparently your interaction with the group is different (such as a comparison to Jane from Luke apparently). I didn't take the medication so there was nothing to offer Rebecca, but she dies either way in the end.
I think your relationship with Arvo changes slightly too. If you don't steal, I think he says something about wishing they met under different circumstances.
Nail. Head. Boom. I was mashing buttons on other controllers around my room hoping one of them would trigger that option...
Maybe not RIGHT then and there in the heat of the moment but when she talks to him afterward. My Clem is turning into a real no BS kinda chick, sick of taking sides. Every options that's like "you're both being jerks" or "stop fighting you two" I'm mashing the hell outta. Let's just survive here people!
As many have pointed out I didn't take the meds precisely of what happened with stealing in season 1. My inner Clem was all "I don't need no gimp ass Russian stalkin' my ass for an advil later on."... But I really don't think it matters as many have said. The moral of the two seasons can be summed up as: "Don't steal!..... but you might as well... cuz... shit it don't matter none."
I was waiting for the, "At least I didn't use a salt lick."
Though I will add- it is POSSIBLE that Clem NOT stealing the meds, even if Jane does anyway, might open up some possibilities with the Russians later on. We're assuming they're bad people and they VERY easily could be but it's possible Arvo went back to his people and said he got robbed by a bunch of strangers and they decided to get the drop on our group in retaliation or as a preemptive strike. They could just be another group of survivors. They're an armed group but hey- so are we!... and there did seem to be a slight softening of the group when my Clem announced that we had a baby in the group.
Also, I'm assuming the gunfight breaks out in retaliation to Clem/Kenny shooting Rebecca and well, we've all seen that in movies where there's a big standoff and someone does something that's NOT firing a shot at the other guy and the shooting breaks out anyway.
Just saying I'm open to the possibility that these could be new potential allies and we just met on poor terms... Remember, Arvo was clearly trying to stash the meds in the trash for SOME reason. Maybe he DOES have a sick sister and he's trying to get them to her. Gimpy and young as he is I doubt he's the leader of that group. My guess is he's up to something.
I did steal but I changed my choice because I felt sorry for the guy he can barely walk.
It was a pretty tough decision for me. I wanted to take them because during this episode, I just kept thinking, "This is for me and my group, and for me and my group only." I didn't even believe his story about his sister. However, I thought, "this is gonna bite me in the ass I just know it." So I let him have the meds. It still didn't make a difference because he still says "I robbed him." Man after that, I'm fucking done with Arvo. I don't care if he really has a sister or anything. Fuck him and his group, they're dead.
