Because whenever Russians show up in western movies/games they're always portrayed as savages, murderers, thieves, liars, traitors and so on and in the Amid the Ruins Russians attack a group with a small baby just to rob it. No offense but being half-Russian I'm getting really sick of it.

I didn't even care they were Russian but it seem like most are really focusing on that. if theres one thing that we can learn from the TWD universe is that skin color, ethnicity, race it doesn't matter and also in any ZA scenario. and as for the outta place, theyre in virgina now, not Georgia.
They needed a vaguely threatening foreign group. There are plenty of Russian-heavy neighborhoods up north so it's quite plausible. They could have also done Asians or Hispanics or Arabs, but I didn't think anything weird about them choosing Russians.

Both Lee and Clem were in a suburb outside a major metropolitan city when they first met each other. But I guess they didn't travel outside of that city and the Clem that is in those rural woods now is just a figment of our imaginations.

I'm russian so I can say that all those "evil russians" were saying was "tell them to put the guns down", "there too many of them" and shit like that. They are obviously scared and not enjoying situation. By the way they were speaking it didn't look like they are monsters, but due to the way the episode finished, I doubt we gonna be friends with them.

Seriously. They can't win for losing with people. Not all Russians are good. Not all Americans are good (as we have CLEARLY seen since day 1… more). Not all Mexicans are good. Not all black people are good. Get real everyone. It's not a big deal. Americans are consistently the bad guys in this game. So what if they chose a couple of Russian baddies? It's not a big deal. Political correctness run amok, yet again. My best friend is Russian and I'm pretty sure if I asked her, that she wouldn't give a rat's behind about a couple of Russian bad guys in a video game. Stop thinking of Cold War/post-Cold war politics when playing this game. This is a post-apocalyptic world. That stuff doesn't exist within TWD universe. Just enjoy it for what it is.

As other people have already said, I think the reasoning behind having non-American (or at least non-English speaking characters) in the finale is that it adds a layer of tension to the proceedings; Clem's group and by extension many of the people playing have no idea what the hostile group is saying to one another and as such we feel on edge, not knowing what to expect. As for why they're Russian particularly, well, I don't know. Call me a cynic, but I do think that the "Russians = untrustworthy" stereotype present in a lot of American media since the Cold War (spy films, Call of Duty games, etc.) played a role to some degree, though. It's just an easy means of ramping things up at this point: "a Western audience is probably going to tense up the moment they hear Russian people speaking Russian, so let's use Russians. Why not?" It's not exactly FAIR, and obviously Russian people aren't all untrustworthy, but it's a cultural expectation and in that regard it's at least understandable.
