Am I The Only One....

That didn't get Kenny to totally hate Clem in Amid the Ruins? I keep seeing a bunch of post of people bad talking Kenny about how he yelled at Clem, and I've seen multiple playthroughs where he throws in the "You think because you're a kid you can get people killed and nobody will care?!" but that's entirely determinant dialogue. For me, I simply told Kenny that "We need you." and "We don't know what to do without you." to which he said goodbye to Sarita, and left her to turn in the herd. I managed to get away without needing to axe Sarita as well. Later on, he wasn't pissed at me for trying to help either. I mean sure, he wasn't glad, but he was in a neutral zone. Just, I'm glad he wasn't pissed at me. Did anyone else get this neutral Kenny, or did almost all of you manage to get on his bad side?

  • He just snapped, but in the end he truly cares about Clem. It was just a natural reaction for seeing someone you love die right in front of you. He got over it though.

  • I have been up Kenny's ass the whole season and he still got pissy with me. I even tried saving Sarita by killing the zombie that bit her, but that didn't change Kenny's reaction much. I think to get him to not be an asshole, you just have to say "We need you" "We don't know what to do without you" etc. Make him feel important. He doesn't seem to take kindly to Clementine mentioning anything involving her being sorry, Sarita, or Kenny being upset. Basically, I think like 99% of the possible choices piss Kenny off in that situation.

  • I know about all that, but my point is that in my playthrough, Kenny never actually snapped at Clem to begin with.

  • Yeah, it was rather unexpected. It even shocked me.

  • Apparently, it is possible to have Kenny apologize to you if he does snap. Anyone have this happen to them and know how to execute it?

  • Be quiet when you enter the tent and after he says his line that he wanted to die say to him that he's alive he liking or not, then he will get angry say another thing about that he isn't helping anyone than pick up the line "You helped me"(something like that). He will say, that doesn't look like it and she helped more than these adults around them(so true) and then he says he's sorry and that he forgets that Clem is just a 11 years old girl.

  • Neat. Thank you. I'll have to try for that on my second playthrough. =)

I axed Sarita and Kenny was pissed at me, but I never blamed him. I know how to act with people who have temper. I tried to calm him down and said that I need him. He actually thanked me and the game said that he will remember that. Perhaps it will have an impact in the end?

  • I cut off Sarita's arm since I thought it would help her get away, also because maybe the infection wouldn't spread, like with Herschel in AMC's TWD, he survived. Unless they made it so that's not possible in this universe. I tried to soothe him and say she's not suffering anymore but he was absolutely bullshit at me and I will admit I wasn't happy when he was yelling at Clementine. I didn't WANT to kill her but I didn't want her to suffer, like when Duck got bit, or I didn't want her to bite anyone else for that matter. When he was all depressed in the tent I was only thinking about Rebecca and at that moment, we needed him - he had to be told that and have a purpose again I think. I just hope that he can handle what's going on and the group doesn't break down.
